I came across an Instagram post today. It kind of hurt. Some guy posted a meme saying that Gurren Lagann is a garbage anime. I know people have their own opinion but how could someone hate this anime. To me, its not just about what's in this anime, but its just so inspirational to me. Ever since I watched this anime, I keep thinking about it everyday. This anime is just incredible
There is something that this anime conveys, that speaks to a part of you that you may have trouble to put into words. That part of you that nevertheless cannot be mistaken for anything else. It gives you a glimpse into that sheer awesomeness of who you are and what you can be, as well as everyone else. It's the biggest message ever that says "Just be yourself" Or Rather: "Be more of yourself"... until you in a way become everything else, because a part of your will be within everything and everyone. Make no mistake, this is the "secret" you have been searching for your entire life. There is a reason why if feels so true, and why this show stuck with you. Once you discover more of yourself and what you can be, there is no forgetting. Realize the true meaning of these words: "Just who do you think you are?" It's not just that the anime is incredible, it's that this anime showed you a piece of yourself. It's so incredible just because it reflected a piece of you. Currently, this world is full of people aren't aware of the full magnitude and potential of who they really are. Many people look for it in drink, some in play, others in company, still others in accomplishment, more in pleasure, a few in philosophy, some in power... but only those who turn inward find what they're looking for. From my experience, the type of people that don't like Gurren Lagann tend to be self-depreciating people, or pessimist. Basically, the kind of person that wouldn't follow, or at least wouldn't respect Kamina.
