What I learnt from 200 HOURS of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Today I'll be playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe after reaching 10,000 VR and playing the game for 200 hours!

Big respect, man. It took me 350h to reach the same VR (granted that also includes time trials, splitscreen with friends etc). I can see that you leanred well from Shortcat (I assume).

Thanks man! I’ve played a lot of time trials and split screen as well but watching Shortcat really helped to gain VR super fast.

I can't tell if you're remarking or don't know how, so here's how it works. Mario Kart has to guess where other people are on your screen and for most items, it only hits if it hits and the defender's screen. Lets say a green shell hits you but since Mario Kart has to guess, it might look like the green missed you on the thrower's screen, but you will still spin out. For trailed/revolving items it only if it hits on the attacker's screen. This is called lag trailing, as the effect gets worse the more lag you have. While this does mean you could get trailed out of nowhere by a player across the world from you, it also means that sometimes you can run into a trail and not get hit. That's what happened to me. I've come to not even think about it when it happens cause it's very common.

@@ZMK90Keep going man. Watching Mario Kart RUclipsrs is what helped me a lot so you’re already on the right track! Also btw post 10k seems to be going really slow for me so maybe it’s that 🤷‍♂️
