Designing a New Production Facility for a FMCG Producer Using a Simulation Model

Sogrape Vinhos, a leading wine producer, asked LTP Labs, a consulting company, to design the layout for a new centralized production center.
The consultants developed a simulation model using AnyLogic that allowed the testing of multiple layout options, adjusting for future demand uncertainty and operational parameters.
The model helped to evaluate key metrics such as transport distances, truck loading times, congestion, warehouse occupation, and labor hours. This approach helped Sogrape select the layout that optimizes space, productivity, and costs while planning for future resource needs.
