I love how J Hud was like "I'm ready." She does not prep, lights, a beat....she's a real singer. And I adore how she loves music. It's literally in her soul.

it helps too that the room they're in is designed to be as acoustically perfect as possible, plus she has experience in front of an audience. I think that's what trips up a lot of those auditioning, who might sound great singing in their livingroom to friends or alongside a backing track, but the true test is being able to sing anywhere, with anyone, and still express your vocal ability
@@roramoya Great point!! People can be excellent at anything, but they'll have to be able to play any audience. They have to know how to sell themselves too. That in itself is an art.

There had never been a coach like her that will get up and sing with you, throw her shoe and engage so much with the contestants. She was such a gem and needed to stay as a coach.

In my opinion, it is the BEST DUET I have ever experienced on The Voice between 2 gifted vocalists. Their performance, vocal prowess and chemistry is unmatched on this program or any other!!!!!

A lot of people don't understand the shoe-throwing thing. Blacks have been doing that for years. Ha! I'm 68 and I've been to a lot of concerts and people throw shoes when someone is bringing the house down with their voice.

Yea I loved that. I know J Hud is an incredible singer, but I dont listen to much R&B, so my exposure to her is still limited. But I wonder how many artists would be willing to go on stage and sing with a contestant, AND also play the background and let them shine. A lot of artists would be scared to get upstaged, or would feel like they need to show out, especially in the age of social media.

They said she barely spent time training her team and wanted her team members to be stage ready. There’s actually an article on how the voice production admitted they won’t have her back under any circumstances!

Jennifer Hudson always shows up her voice. It's just a natural thing for her, yet she ALWAYS allow these contestants to SHINE, giving them a priceless moment.
Many of these individuals shouldn't need a voice competition to get a record contract, but I'm still grateful to have been exposed to them through this show.

Aretha is from a different generation than Mariah or Whitney. She was technically born in the 80s. Had she been born in the 70s this would have definitely been possible.
