I fixed the title but since I’m at the Dr’s for my daughter I can’t update the thumbnail. One of the boys will get to it once they’re up.
This got mixed up because we found out that the episodes were out of order and that Ghostfreaked out is the real episode 7 where camp fear isn’t. Looks like our team just mixed things up.

Actually Airing order is Camp Fear, but HBO for example has other order of episodes(It doesn't affect the plot too much,nor there are spoilers) Ghostfreaked Out is the 7th episode in HBOs order... While Airing order Is camp fear...

About Ghostfreak true appearance: Ectonurites (his species) have an extra layer of skin. Their normal skin allows them to use their powers at full strengh, but it's weak to UV light and the extra skin limits their powers, but lets them to not be harmed by that same light

I didn't know that where did you get that information from because I always thought that the only reason why a Ghostfreak was not affected by the light was because Ben was in control
In hindsight, Ghostfreak should have probably waited until night time then to reveal his true form.
In case you didn't know, episodes hunted and last laugh gave signs of ghostfreak being a little suspicious especially last laugh when he scared zombozo out with his tentacles that it made Ben freak out himself
Sure they say that but it is not as heavily hinted as it should have been imo.. like is it that far of a stretch to be like "yeah turning into the ghost-like alien was bit freaky" and it not be a hint of something else? With ghosts being inherently spooky they should have had it be a bit more obvious like having Ben not always responding to his name or (what this episode showed) more aggression or whatever.. like imagine if another time before this he went a bit further than he planned to while Ghostfreak instead of a random 1-2 lines early in series after he turned back

@@BaconNuke imo that would be way too obvious, and since Ben Barely uses Ghostfreak, for me it was perfect this way, the hints are there, you just need to know what you're looking for, that's called narrative subtlety

@@BaconNuke I think they either weren't allowed or didn't want to push the hints too far, this was in a time where cartoons barely even had continuity, so having an actual plotline was hard enough already
It's also probably their own inexperience considering the writing of characters is so inconsistent in the original series
Ghostfreaked out is incredible the concept of one Ben’s aliens escaping the watch is awesome. This is one of the best episodes in the entire series. Ghostfreak’s true for is just pure nightmare fuel
Ghostfreak's race is an enigma. Can't imagine what the homeworld is like. But its creepy that even a dna sample holds their consciousness.

Yeah, for whatever reason, CN messed up the release order for the episodes. The one that Man of Action intended was their production order

Ghostfreak is the alien that Ben doesn't feel very comfortable transforming into
To explain Ghostfreak, no, it didn't technically have "another form", or "new evolution". The form it was using previously was just some sort of suit he was wearing. The form he took when he ripped out of the suit is actually his true appearance. I'm not really sure on the specifics, but it's possible that Ghostfreak was stuck in that suit when he was placed into the Omnitrix, as some form of containment (anyone who knows more about it, feel free to comment below 😅). It could also be possible that the suit was used to protect Ghostfreak from the sun, seeing how back when Ben could transform into him, he never had a problem with sunlight. Although, this wouldn't explain why Ghostfreak himself destroyed the suit in this episode 😅.
As for Ghostfreak being in the Omnitrix, from what I could recall, he's the only alien thus far that was fully conscious and wanted to leave the device (any reader is free to correct me otherwise 😆). The point of the Omntrix was that it held the DNA of various aliens within it, not the actual aliens themselves as though they were prisoners. The only reason why I think Ghostfreak was different was because he's essentially a ghost alien. So besides ectoplasm, he wouldn't really bare any DNA. It's possible that whatever piece of Ghostfreak that was extracted and placed into the Omnitrix acted as some sort of extension of his original being. That or Ghostfreak was literally trapped into the device Ghostbusters' style 😆.
Z'skayr was stucked in the Omnitrix when he possesed a Flourana.
*Spoiler*
You can see a pop trivia where a Vilgax drone crashed landed on the Anur system, Z'skayr found it and hacked its system there he found out about the Omnitrix. He then went to find where the Omnitrix is, he heard that Myaxx Azmuth's assistant was collecting DNA so he possesed a Flourana aka Wildvines species, when Myaxx collected that Flourana DNA Z'skayr was trapped. He probably thought could control the watch from the inside but I guess the Omnitrix defense system probably prevented him from manipulating the wearer.
the "suit" is just an extra skin that Ectonurites are able to create at will to shield themselves from sunlight

Ghostfreak keeps Gwen's body and Gwen become the Villain. there some concepts fanmade art, Possessed Teenage Gwen, wears black shirt and purple shirt. since magic is much stronger than Omintrix.
I remember, Gwen's Magic damage the Omnitrix, made it self destruct and errors, in Ben10 movies.
Omintrix isn't immune to Magic. also Gwen did enter to Omintrix (in Ultimatrix form) using magic.
If Ghostfreak learns about it, he just use Gwen's body and enter inside of Omnitrix and free other aliens and he told them to join him. after he left from Omnitrix, he gonna use Gwen's Magic to destroy the Omnitrix. self destruct.

Hands down for one of the most memorable and best episode from the entire franchise and the whole season 2 that peaked at best, easily tied with "Back With A Vengeance", "Framed" and "Grudge Match" for many great scenes and interesting concepts great plotline and it was used at fullest potential and good writting.

Ectonurite's consciousness just happen to exist in every individual strand.
Ghostfreak manipulating the Circus Freaks into an alliance by using them as minions/sidekicks to slave him reminds me of Heather in TDI forming the first alliance with Beth and Lindsay while manipulating them as her puppets/minions to slave her role as the main villain.

Basically, Ghostfreak is his own separate being. The other aliens are just blank slates for Ben's mind to inhabit. But when his DNA was taken for the Omnitrix, his consciousness, personality, knowledge, everything about him was trapped inside. Like a ghost hiding in a host, lying dormant until he's strong enough to take control. Ultimately freeing himself. Simply put, it's two separate beings in one body. (Lifelong Ben 10 fan)

@@taki1838 False, the pop up facts on reruns explained that he tracked down Myaxx and possessed a wildvine, which then got sampled, planning to take over the omnitrix once he was inside it.
This backfited slightly as he couldn't take control from the inside, which is why he was going through this whole plan of taking over Ben to use his body as a middleman.

When I was younger “GhostFreak” was my favorite character and most terrifying one once he showed his true form to Ben. It would scare anyone at night and I remember watching this episode during a Halloween Marathon during CN Halloween specials.
Definitely iconic and memorable for me as well for how terrifying he was!

The episode that I was scared of when I was younger😂 Zs'Skayr is easily one of the best Ben 10 villains! His design is cool af! There is a bit of foreshadowing for the reveal you can watch back episodes when he goes ghost freak and see he does act more violent as him. He even said “that was even more weird than when I normally go ghostfreak” In ep 5.
Ghostfreak is like... Top 3 villains in the series. It's crazy how you can tell he was somewhat special all the way back in his first appearance. Ben seemed to kinda start losing himself to Ghostfreak even then.
I really wish he had a live action film with him as the villain. The villains we do get in those are fine, but imagining the things you could do with Ghostfreak in life action makes it obvious just how good of a villain he'd be in that type of medium.
I really enjoy seeing the cogs turn as they realize the watch doesn't just randomly turn Ben into aliens.. but has DNA of species.. and thus there are whole planets of each creature Ben turns into.. despite Tetrax showing up earlier and is also an example of another of a species.. but most people forget about it or gloss over that until it comes up again lol
Also I forget why Ghostfreak had a sun weakness despite when as Ben he didn't..

I think it's because when Ben was using Ghostfreak he still had that protective skin layer, but when Ghostfreak escaped the watch he tore it off and lost his resistance to sunlight. I assume the wiki would have some better info about it.

it seems that in the series they don’t talk about it, you need to think about it yourself, so it’s kind of like there’s no spoiler at all, in the Omnitrix it’s the DNA of various alien races and not a specific alien, and the Ghost found out that the Omnitrix exists and decided to get it, but his DNA got into the Omnitrix and he himself died or he personally got into the Omnitrix, and the trick is that the Ectunurids of the Ghost race can restore their consciousness even with the help of one of their surviving molecules, and since he got there against his will, he certainly wanted to get out..

I swear no matter how many reactions I watch...you got to love how the reveal that ghostfreak escapes the watch always got to people. Even more so that he died.
Everyone is always assuming that this is a kids show and that status quo was god....but nope....for most of us thus was the last time we saw ben transform into ghostfreak in the original series.
It's a permanent lost that technically deprives him of one of his aliens.

Basically Ben turns into a member of certain alien races when he transforms. This is done via DNA samples of those aliens which is basically used as a template. The Omnitrix doesn't turn you into a copy of the donor, just the same species as them.
The quirk with Ghostfreak is that, like it was said in this episode, his species has consciousness even when they're like a few molecules of DNA. So the sample used for that species was sentient the whole time and could possess Ben whenever he was using Ghostfreak. I assume what happened is that Ben was about to be fully possessed but then the Omnitrix booted him out to save Ben, kind of like how Ghostfreak can't possess Ben when he's transformed or how the Omnitrix skipped the recharge phase to save Ben.
This is ghostfreaked Out, not Camp Fear...

What I like about avatar the last airbender is that the voice actor for Aang was an actual child voice actor and not an adult women and made the character feel more relatable for me.

No, let me get this right because this is not explained until Omniverse and that's way too long. Ben's Transformations are not sentient, they are essencially Ben because they are merge by DNA, that was explained a few episodes back, however, something that was not explained correctly in the first series is that Ectonurites (Ghostfreak's species) can bring back to life even if their bodies are destroy, because like how Ghostfreak explained in this episode, Ectonurites' DNA can hold their consciousness and that's why Ghostfreak is alive and a separate being from the Omnitrix
Yes the omnitrix get's DNA from specific members of an alien species, but only ben isn't an exact copy of whoever the DNA came from. Four arms is literally Ben if he was a Tetramand.

The only enjoyable to memorable iconic scenes at best from the Episode "Ghostfreaked Out" was Four Arms fighting off the circus freaks during the night was awesome and when Ben Tennison was able to defeat by turning the tables against Zs'Skayr the evil Ghostfreak by pulling down the curtains to revealing the day sunlight/daynight was a smartass move to make the latter suffering from powerful rays of light and getting a well deserved karma defeat punishment and also being too horrifiyng moment at the same time when Zs'Skayr got destroyed.

So basically evil Ghostfreak named Zs'Skayr is a vampire because he likes to blending in the full darkness at night and shadows ?
Everytime when Ben transforms into Ghostfreak, primary in season 1 episodes 4, 5 and 9 he always felt kinda weird and odd when he behaves like a freak.
I wish they explored the idea of what would happen had Zskayr won in the end. That would be cool as what if scenario.
