How long does it take for a judge to sign with getting edd? I’m wanting to sign a C&R. It’s been 2 years since my injury so I’m settling for a C&R even though they extended my MMI date
I can tell you in my case it took me almost 2 years. I just now reached mmi or maximum treatment. Then agreed upon settlement. At this point I have to wait for judge to sign off, check to go to attorney. Then they hold it in a trust for 10 days. Then I will meet attorney to get my funds or they can mail me check. I can say keep track of everything! It really helped me as in Missouri they pay for your gas mileage to all doctor visits. It may not seem like much but around 50 cents a mile adds up.
Hello, Great video. You mentioned something interesting in your video that caught my attention. You mentioned that nothing is finalized until the judge signs. Which brings to these questions. 1. Can a client still get treatment during the time it takes before a judge signs or as soon as the client signs they agree not to continue to get treatment.? I.e if Judge takes 3 months to sign. 2. How will a client know the Judge has signed the settlement agreement? If there is a 30day window to pay out how can a client keep track of that.? Thank you in advance for your response. Once again thank you for your video.
1. Usually not. In California, the signed agreement usually includes language that treatment is to stop 2. The court should mail a copy of the signed settlement to all the parties, including yourself. You could also check online or check with your attorney. The date of the Judge's order will be on the settlement. You can use that as your date. You may need to add 5 days for mailing.
@@lawatyourside thanks bc I signed my settlement papers a month ago but no nothing about the 132a. And I’m hopping I get the back pay but Hurd it’s hard to prove
