Ok so I've been testing a Tahm Kench build I think you might enjoy. Grasp build into ROA, Heartsteel then last 3 items are Riftmaker, Spirit Visage and Sunfire (depending on how the game is going depends on the order)
This is the bes build, because you still get alot of damage but you are also very tanky, and Vlad need this he is very short range for today standards. Its better to play him as tanky ap, he becomes a tank with all items, and you can even build 1 tank item like jackshaw or like spirit visage and deadmans

Sounds like we just playing Veigar with extra steps.
Not as fragile though, obviously, with better mobility but less cc. Stacking HP to scale damage is kind of a broken interaction, and it's worth exploiting

Try Malzahar with Liandry's>Warmog's>Riftmaker>Whatever
You'll have to build the AP/HP component of Riftmaker before Warmog's to get the passive.
