I’m not gonna rush into the alcohol-free hype train. 😊 but I can’t help but admit that the alcohol-free Mojave Ghost from Byredo smelled niiiice and felt nice on skin.
Sounds like his mind was made up even before he tried the fragrance. It is encouraging to see someone trying to go in a different direction. May be the next one will be more successful.
I have tried is, liked it and bought it. Price wise, it's in line with Sauvage Parfum, which makes sense as this too is a parfum? It seems to have a very high concentration of oil, which I'd rather pay for than perfumers alcohol! Scent wise, it reminds you of a Provencal herb market? Well, thats a thumbs up in my book! I get a lot of wood and musk as well and think it's a really good scent profile. Yes it's understated, but I find it really pleasant and deftly handled, but that's personal opinion of course. Performance wise, it actually performs very well on my skin. I had my first full wearing today and it lasted and projected (in line with a perfume concentration, so closer to the skin) for about 8+ hours. Dior have dared to do something different, though it may have been to their detriment to ride it on the back of the Sauvage lineage, but I understand why they did so with it being the best selling men's fragrance line in the universe! Remember in 2020 when Dior released Home 2020? The reactions are similar so I think people will come round to this in time.
I’m not a fan of how designer houses are all increasing the prices of their fragrances, did you hear about the new Paco Ribanne fragrance? $140 for something that should be $70-$80 max in my opinion. I’ll be completely honest, this fragrance should be $80-$100 at most and that’s being generous.
I feel like it's the TikTok popularity of fragrances although it could also be inflation. But we have teenagers "buying" niche fragrances and designer clothes so why not?
I'm not thrown off by the lack of alcohol. Don't mind "fragrance-lotions". My problem with this one is the fact that NONE of this line appeals to me! I love the original Eau Sauvage (both iterations). These have never done it for me. Hermetica is alcohol free. Love most of that line. Have a Great Day! Enjoy a pint for me. Cheers! 🎉🎉🎉😊
I just saw a video from a Francis Kurkdjian collaborator, who says that the way to get the most out of the liquid is to spray it near the skin and rub it so that the oils are activated and the perfume when sprayed near the clothes does not stain.
I’ve kind of seen it as a “clean and fresh gentlemen at work” kind of scent. Not so much an out on a date/trying to impress, it gives me that “boss that feels like your nerdy uncle who’s secretly a punk rock kid in disguise”. Shout out to my dorky punk rock uncle who worked at intel
The appointment of Francis Kurkdjian as the new creative director was a mistake from the beginning. He is known for his soft, very neutral, and inoffensive creations, whereas Dior’s previous fragrances had a touch of roughness and a distinct persona they embodied. Even in terms of advertising, that was the image they tried to convey. However, with this creation and likely others to come, it seems we are witnessing a dilution of that bold character.
I got my hands on the remainder of a sample of Eau Forte. There was less than on full spray. I sprayed it on nearly 10 hours ago and it is still wafting away on my skin. The smell, is nothing like any of the other sauvages. To me, its more along the lines of a Gucci Absolute, La Yuquawam or some other aquired taste smell. I find it quite pleasant
I tried a non alcoholic frag and enjoyed it. It was a very different sensation to wear. Officine Universelle Buly Eau Triple Menthe Concombre Perfume. One of the freshest frags I’ve ever tried.
I think the sent is beautiful I’m getting 12+hours with low projection but the stuff lasts my wife loves it , if I’m going out though it’s definitely the parfum
I’m curious about this because alcohol free fragrances interest me especially for the ability of rubbing it. J’adore Parfum d’Eau also doesn’t have a super silage or longevity, yet it’s one of my favs because it moisturizes my skin and I can spray it all over my hair, though yes, the technology behind it making it costing more is disappointing. I’m still curious about Sauvage though, not gonna lie 😅
I think it´s targeted for all those new age people that grow hair under their arms and people with sensitive skin, that want deodorants with no alcohol, aluminium free, natural stuff haha
Given the negative reaction to Eau Forte, with Francis Kurkdjian's high profile reputation, you gotta wonder if this is simply a dud on his part or if his hands were tied by Dior and had to work within the constraints of what they wanted
Maybe they should have released it as a pure perfume oil that is still alchohol free. I think "water-based " connotes watered down or weak. I've heard one reviewer speak highly of this fragrance. People should sample for themselves and draw their own conclusions.
The majority (some exceptions) of fragrance salespersons at a department store are clueless and have no idea what they're talking about. They're usually hired strictly for their sales skills and experience, not fragrance knowledge. Their only goal is to close the sale and use every trick to do so. The best ones are great at saying anything and making you believe them so you will buy.
Damn, glad I dodged it. Elixir already smells not-Sauvage enough, but at least it stands on its own. To have a flanker that seems unrelated is always so unfortunate. (sitting in a cloud of Mancera Instant Crush today because why not!)
There is the same alcohol free form of J’Adore and I believe it is not selling well. I tried it in store and it does remind me of original J’Adore with really weak performance. Very lotion-y like you said.
Its pretty horrible.. feels like an unfinished empty shell.. raw spiky woody ambers for 165€. Francis has done nothing worthy at Dior in 3 years. Power of Water😂
It sounds a bit wishy washy to me 😂everything washed in water.the dior rep in Selfridges told me to rub it in like a moisturiser. Undecided personally Sebastian especially at that price! The latest greatest Dior fave was Feve Delicieuse 250ml from Harrods last year. Had one under the counter was so happy !cant compare the two
Complete skip. $200 is a joke for this one. I wish you commented on the longevity too since I know a lot are worried about that too with it being without alcohol, how long will it actually last?
I think this is for people that want to be popular and smell good but don’t know better. I’m sorry but you can get a good perfume for the same amount if you are not mainstream and know what you like.
It's astonishing to release something this boring at such a high price. As you said, a really bad move by Dior. I wished they could've just introduced a new line or even a new prive fragrance. I won't even bother with this because an alcohol-free fragrance does not really capture my attention
this is totally useless i bought it yesterday and found it £20 fragrance , all money wasted already have sold it to someone on less then half price 🤦🏻♂️
I respect your opinions, which are totally valid, but you seemed to start from a very negative position with this first impressions. I think you were prepared to dislike it, no matter how it smelt!
It is a different approach to reviewing fragrances. Giving a fragrance a thumbs down before even smelling it. I would think a fragrance reviewer would be more objective. We like to jump on the bandwagon.
It was supposed to go on Beauty Coming Soon section on the 12th and it didn't make it there until the 15th. So I am hoping it goes up for sale tomorrow. Harrods is taking their time. I will announce it once it's selling! :)

Huge disappointment from the big man Francis, but I’m even more disappointed as this fragrance will prolly put a bad taste into the mouth of people wanting to try “alcohol free” fragrances. While I agree their projection and longevity aren’t the best, “Filligree and Shadow”, and indie US house, has made some phenomenal fragrances. I’m honestly shocked this made it through the market testing phase and that Francis would want to publish this under his name.

Sebastian trashing on alcohol free fragrances has been one of the most entertaining monologues I’ve heard in a while hahah

What a flop for MFK debut at Dior
I thought his debut was that new sparking perfume they just released
You mean FK, not MFK
he been flopping
MFK? His name isn’t Maison 🤣
This isn’t his first perfume for Dior.
Bro said: "Okay, i have a strange feeling I'm not going to like this fragrance." Lmao... laughing my ass off here 😂. What an intro! 😂😂
LOL
Nevermind. Not the case here😂😂😂😂
Sounds like his mind was made up even before he tried the fragrance. It is encouraging to see someone trying to go in a different direction. May be the next one will be more successful.
I'd buy it a thousand times again and again. its potent and keeps getting better and better with time ...
I have tried is, liked it and bought it. Price wise, it's in line with Sauvage Parfum, which makes sense as this too is a parfum? I plan to at least try Eau Forte.
I totally agree with you!
This flanker was not necessary and its already at discounters👀🤦
What discounter? 🤔
Where 🤔
Thanks for the honesty

I purchased Dior Homme Parfum it is the absolute perfection
Its bad its smell like powder 👎🏼
I'm not thrown off by the lack of alcohol. Don't mind "fragrance-lotions". My problem with this one is the fact that NONE of this line appeals to me! "I mean, it's a boring scent, what is this?!" 😂😂
I'm done here! 😂😂😂 Not even going to try to imagine having this. 💀
So you haven’t smelled it? You’re gonna let another man determine what you like?
I just saw a video from a Francis Kurkdjian collaborator, who says that the way to get the most out of the liquid is to spray it near the skin and rub it so that the oils are activated and the perfume when sprayed near the clothes does not stain.
Is that unusual explanation included in the box/packaging? If not, how could anyone guess such a rare particularity of a parfum?
@@leandrogasperi3669Everyone would guess it because it's advertised and named after WATER. It would be obvious to anyone who purchased it.
I think this one is a very good release as a flanker and personally I prefer this one to the original because the original is too sharp and too loud.
Much appreciated Sebastian, you called it man ,you sure called it .🤛💪👊👍
In more positive news, I bought a barely used bottle of Nicolai New York intense for $85 today 😊
My favorite fragrance!
I actually really like this.
You're tripping if you think Francis is known for soft scents. After that first sentence everything else you say is called into question.
great video again, thanks
You asked for my favorite Dior fragrance. For me, hands down it's Eau Savage Parfum (2012).
I love the previous releases. Would love to try this one too.
Needs an eau de parfum version of this, with alcohol concentration. This doesnt smell bad.
There already is an eau de parfum Sauvage (it came out after the eau de toilette, in 2018). A very good one. And normal (with alcohol).

Officine Universelle Buly Eau Triple Menthe Concombre Perfume.

I really liked the reformulated “new look”… I’m wearing it today.
Watery perfumes were his USP in his application to Dior!! Let's cut him some slack 😅
I’m still curious about Sauvage though, not gonna lie 😅
francis kurkdjian begins with the wrong foot with this one
Stop harassing him for being honest. He’s telling you what he he think about it. If you like it good for you.
I think it's a grower. Smelled it in the mall, I like it. Gives me a before opening an indoor pool vibe.
I think it´s targeted for all those new age people that grow hair under their arms and people with sensitive skin, that want deodorants with no alcohol, aluminium free, natural stuff haha
Ooohh, stop with the enthusiasm Sebastian 😂😂😂
I’m loving the new APOM but have no desire to try eau forte!
Elixir is my Sauvage go to!!
Elixir is great!!
It’s basically a sweet oud without oud. Prefer Boss Oud. Returned the Dior. Made me feel sick after wearing for a night out.
Given the negative reaction to Eau Forte, with Francis Kurkdjian's high profile reputation, you gotta wonder if this is simply a dud on his part or if his hands were tied by Dior and had to work within the constraints of what they wanted
I tried this at the weekend..i couldnt smell anything of Sauvage at all..scent isn't strong either....I still need to try Elixir too.
Did this new guy for Sauvage also decide to take out the face moisturizer and replace it with a $95 face serum?
Dior must recall all the beautiful bottles, fire mfk this is a catastrophic situation for Dior
Maybe they should have released it as a pure perfume oil that is still alchohol free. I think "water-based " connotes watered down or weak. I've heard one reviewer speak highly of this fragrance. People should sample for themselves and draw their own conclusions.
I wonder if the alcohol free releases are related to shipping costs? Especially if brands want to push for more direct to consumer sales?
Tried it at dillards, honestly I hated it. Plus the ladies at dillards, no disrespect, telling me alcohol doesn't affect performance is mad.
Most of them have no idea what they’re talking about.
The majority (some exceptions) of fragrance salespersons at a department store are clueless and have no idea what they're talking about. They're usually hired strictly for their sales skills and experience, not fragrance knowledge. Their only goal is to close the sale and use every trick to do so. Easy wear. Without the sharp alcohol openings. Monsieur Kurkidjian should have broken the mold.
Damn, glad I dodged it.
Elixir already smells not-Sauvage enough, but at least it stands on its own. To have a flanker that seems unrelated is always so unfortunate.
(sitting in a cloud of Mancera Instant Crush today because why not!)
Maybe the results will completely diferent if they put excelent oils and not alchol free. Please change including the alchol.
There is the same alcohol free form of J’Adore and I believe it is not selling well. I tried it in store and it does remind me of original J’Adore with really weak performance. Very lotion-y like you said.
Can you please review the new Montblanc collection line. 4 new releases: Incense, Vetiver, Patchouli and Leather
Its pretty horrible.. feels like an unfinished empty shell.. raw spiky woody ambers for 165€. Francis has done nothing worthy at Dior in 3 years. Power of Water😂
Tnx for this video
No just no, hate the OG I will never even try this one. I agree with you why? Thanks for the review Sebastian!!!
No problem thanks for stopping by. 😀
I can't see how Dior can truly trust that Francis would put his best foot forward with them while he has his own brand.
That's unfair. Francis is a professional and it's not his fault if Dior forced him to work with this water based lotion formula.
There's no limit to the shenanigans these fragrance houses pull on us
It sounds a bit wishy washy to me 😂everything washed in water.the dior rep in Selfridges told me to rub it in like a moisturiser. Undecided personally Sebastian especially at that price!
The latest greatest Dior fave was Feve Delicieuse 250ml from Harrods last year. Had one under the counter was so happy !cant compare the two
Wasn’t one of the Jadore doors alcohol free? As a woman, I spray perfume in my hair. Idc if it causes any damage haha
They should have just released an eau Fraîche flanker.
Who likes sauvage anyway? I’m glad it smells nothing like it, now I’m curious to try it
Thanks for your honest review. Very in line with reviews by other influencers. This will go down in history as one of the very few Dior duds. 👎🏻
Rumors suggest that Dior Sauvage Eau Forte sponsored the movie Madame Web 🤣🤣🤣
Total waste. I have Dior Homme Intense but I’m a little frightened to buy DHP. What if it’s so good and I can never find it again? 😅
The trend nobody wanted or asked for. I hope this water fad fades as quick as the perfumes.
"What have they done? Why!?!" LOL
Complete skip. $200 is a joke for this one. I wish you commented on the longevity too since I know a lot are worried about that too with it being without alcohol, how long will it actually last?
Poor Sebastian! We feel your pain, we really do... 😆😆😆
I'll pass on this. Thank you for your honesty.

Dior milking every cent out of Savage lineup. Next Savage baby flanker? What else 😂
Sauvage Dog 🐕
@@chrisls912clicked in just to say that 😂
Sauvage Chien
“Woof.”
9:42 is the best moment of this vid 😅
Ill stick with the eau de parfum or the parfum one.
Wonderful 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! Cheers!
The Arab and Middle east market this was made for as Muslims prefer non alcohol based fragrances.
It's like alcohol free fragrances are searching for a problem to solve.
As a general rule, i don't like Sauvage or it's flankers. I like alcohol free perfumes, because it spray in my hair.
Did you not consider leaving your hair in peace and using parfums on your skin? For the hair, shampoo and/or hair lotions, not parfums.
@leandrogasperi3669 they say it's bad to apply to skin, the hair is more preferred than the skin.
@@dixiewinxeqandmore356 I'd never heard that. I'll search, then.
Going back to the well-
Hmm shame it’s not great :/
Alcohol free fragrances remind me of the Jil Sander Sun from the 90s. Did like that tbh
this is totally useless i bought it yesterday and found it £20 fragrance , all money wasted already have sold it to someone on less then half price 🤦🏻♂️
Oh no
... And fast forward to 2030, it is in 😢 the list of "Top 10 Discontinued gems"!
water-based fragrance have never worked on me at all ...
Finally an honest review. This stuff is absolute dogshit.
Skipping it, Dior Homme Parfum is the 👑
You have to break that bottle in this video that will hit million of views
I need alcohol in my fragrances. But I get it for sensitive skin people. Plus I'm not a fan of the color of the juice
It’s certainly his milky looking
I respect your opinions, which are totally valid, but you seemed to start from a very negative position with this first impressions. I think you were prepared to dislike it, no matter how it smelt!
It is a different approach to reviewing fragrances. Giving a fragrance a thumbs down before even smelling it. I would think a fragrance reviewer would be more objective. We like to jump on the bandwagon.
Seems like theyre trying to step into the alcohol free territory that nabeel has been dominating. Same milky white color as well.
Who needs an acohol free fragance??
$200 for a bottle. I think the industry has finally priced me out of the market.
I wouldn't spend eau forte dollars on this.😆
These brands getting ridiculous pumping all the stuff which is not necessary.
It smelled ok but should be alot cheaper
I bought one in Lafayette Galeria never more, so weak
Sauvage Milk de Parfum
Smelled this at my local PX and I was so disappointed. This smells like sewer water.
What the hell Harodds is doing? Where is your fragance?
It was supposed to go on Beauty Coming Soon section on the 12th and it didn't make it there until the 15th. So I am hoping it goes up for sale tomorrow. Harrods is taking their time. I will announce it once it's selling! :)
Easy pass 4 me
What was the point of creating a watered-down Sauvage? What a waste.
F-L-O-P
Kurdjian suffers from delusions of grandeur...his first creation for Dior....bad,bad,bad...and expensive.
It’s not 100% his fault. Dior & LVMH are forcing very strict perfume briefs on him. I truly wonder how much creative control he actually has.
I'm glad I sampled this because it is not good. Very disappointing.
