When I opened my pool this year, there were literally hundreds of tadpoles in it, I caught two 5 gallon buckets full and took them to the creek down the road, when I returned I noticed four stragglers, so captured them and let them grow in an aquarium on my porch, three have been released, all ready at the same time, 4th one still didn't have his front legs, it's been a week and he has them now, he's a bright green with black stripes at his eyes..(the others were solid dark olive) this one also is still completely under water, and his tail is almost gone...the others climbed out the water and the tail disappeared over a few hours..I'm trying to figure out why this last one is so different!.. He should have lungs now!
When the ponds dry up after a rain I try to take as many as I can back home before letting them go again when the rains return or when they become froglets
amazing! great camera work too
