There will be a video up this weekend I’m going to Sanquhar Castle will be interesting place I have a preview some photographs of the location up already on the channel. Thanks for watching
Thank you for showing us that lovely old cemetery Chris, we put horseshoes that way to keep out negative energy and bad luck in the afterlife. I have family buried in Scotland but I’m not sure where, I will try to find out.
What a lovely old chapel and graveyard, looks so very peaceful and so well kept. I remember when I was in my teens asking about the skull and crossbones on many of the gravestones in Auld Greenside cemetery in Alloa. Apparently it conveys the message ‘Memento Mori' a rough translation of this being ‘we can’t avoid death … a cheerful wee message.
I have some amazing places to add to this channel that’s not on the tourist trips I have a 11 century Chapel that I’m going to very soon thanks for your comment and subscribe
Edinburgh is pretty nut on my bucket list is another haunted castle called Braemar Castle I heard there was like 4 mischievous ghosts hanging around there, then I'm gonna go to Stirling Castle then Roslin castle and chapel could u take us on this trip too
We’ll surprise surprise Crawfordjohn Kirk cemetery I have a lot of relatives here plus two sets of grandparents here but the biggest surprise was the very first headstone you looked at was a great great uncle of mine James Hyslop , this was a lovely surprise v for me as I’ve never seen his headstone thank you . Down in what you call the new part I have a lot of friends buried their , we used to live at Eastertown farm the first farm on the right on the Douglas Glespin road
Crawford Castle was built with stone from the older roman fort in the field across that road you pointed out. You can still see the defensive ditches in the field. A place full of history going back thousands of years. Clan Crawford were are norse clan who split off the great heathen army that invaded England, hence why the highest hill in South Lanarkshire is called Culter fell, fell being high ground in norse.
