Thank you for the outpouring of support and kind words, they really do mean a lot to me. I'm so happy to hear from you all, and I do recognize most, if not all of you. I've read all your comments. Even though work and personal life was a factor, the fact remains that the SA system and its effects on account progression, the negative banner changes, the fact that many SA units are NOT useful unless awakened, off-banner pulls and sidegrading being punished/impossible, FOMO for getting the newest unit within it's featured banner, the forever $tarchart debt (basically the greedy gacha system changes as a whole among other issues) PLUS the Astral Archive pay to win model that has made this game unenjoyable for me. I still love the game and wish things were different, but like many of you said, all good things must come to an end. It's too bad that it's mainly due to the game system and enjoyment factor going downhill though. I might still play the main story since I do enjoy the story overall. I hope to meet you again, whether WFS changes its direction on this game, or perhaps on a new one!

Thank you so much for all your contributions to the community these past 5 years, I'm really really sad to see you go but I understand that the way WFS has been handling the Stellar Awakening system has made it more difficult for f2p players to keep up with the game. For your sake as well as for the sake of all the others who left for the same reasons as you, I really hope that the devs will take notice of these reasons and implement changes to make things more fair again. I love this game so much for its story, characters, and world despite not being the best at superboss content, but I suppose quality story isn't enough to keep everyone around if the gacha system loses its uniqueness that it once had within the gacha industry. I'm trying to believe that this isn't a permanent goodbye but rather a break for your mental health + a test to wait and see if things within the game will change for the better. If/when WFS actually does address these issues and makes the much needed changes that the community has been calling for, will you consider coming back to the game?
Thanks for the kind words. If they made significant positive changes to the SA system, then yes I would consider coming back to AE. I really do love the game but the current path of the game and system are simply not acceptable for my play style. I am still halfheartedly doing my keys and may even start the main story. We shall see.
I get it and I don't blame you , the stellar awaken system makes me not even want to go for the paid banners (thankfully, they are making units more useful even in the "regular" star version now... I think they learned a lesson) banners like star dream used to be great.. now? the units I get from it are lacking. If you do decide to come back..... one interesting way to do it could be a new account with a new mindset....saving more, summoning on very few units, not feeling like you must clear everything.... I had quit the game but after giving it some time this is what made me come back.... probably wouldn't work as much as a youtube thing.... but it could work for personal enjoyment. either way, thanks for the journey.
I've followed your channel for I don't know how long at this point, having played this game on and off, off currently, and I've always appreciated your input about things, should you summons for both paid and free players, guides for superbosses. I believe I even superchatted money to you during a livestream...I've never done that before. Thank you for all that you've done for the game, I agree with your current thoughts on the game 100% and I understand and emphasize with your reasons why you would stop uploading AE content. The whole apathy thing, I remember the first time I felt that though it was before the SA system. It was the final boss of the AS Cerrine boss series. I wanted to see the rest of her story really badly but that boss fight annoyed me so much it made me pull for Yakumo. It was rough, I think I spent 15k stones or near that and I got him, and easily destroyed that boss and felt nothing. I did get to see the rest of what happened and enjoyed it thankfully, but as for bossing from then I was really checked out as far as it comes to this game and I was already not too much of a super bosser. The fights just got less and less fun. The SA system? Yep, stopped caring about keys once they started this system (unless it's for episode dungeons). I stopped caring about gameplay and having units for that matter when they introduced this system. I truly hope they amend the system to be better for players but seeing as the game appears to be gaining revenue (at least compared to before the SA system) so unfortunately don't see it happening. I still really do enjoy the story too, I look forward to finishing it or catching up with it eventually. It was really cool seeing that (or knowing rather) you played AE with your family and using it as a way to teach, bond, and have fun. It's truly a shame to see all of that fade away, hopefully there are other ways you guys somewhere can find that kind of magic. I'll stay subscribed for that tiny chance that you come back to post. It's been a pleasure, thanks for being a gaming dad.

Aww, it's been quite a while I've been on and off with the game. I think that the sidegrade system is AE is really good compared to any gacha games I've played. But as you said, I think since the Stellar Awakening update things feels so different. I also think the same about the state of AE. It's been such a long and wonderful journey in AE with your videos. I've been playing this game from the beginning like you (since March 2019) and sometimes I watched your videos just like others. Even though it's very less nowadays (especially since I have a different views of SA that's quite a contradiction to yours), I respect your decision to quit the game as a whole I mean if I were in your shoes, playing something that doesn't bring joy into our lives anymore, then what's the point of continuing? Obviously I would make the same decision as you. But again, personally, in the case of AE, I haven't reach to that point yet. Nevertheless, maybe one day I as well would arrive to this nether stop like you are right now Fortunately though, every content in the game is permanent (except with campaigns or keys), so you can come back anytime, both playing it on-screen or off-screen. However, putting that aside, I hope the best for your future endeavors, whatever the step you will take next

I'm willing to stay with AnaDen due to the story rather than the gacha or gameplay, but I'll admit the gacha has made it demoralizing if they don't plan on making it more player friendly. I still remember the old days when i was a new player and wil mak strategy videos got me started on the basics of the game. It was quite an enjoyable journey which will probably stay with me in my memory forever. Part of the reason i wanted to quit was to preserve this feeling rather than have all the negativity pile up and overwhelm all my positive memories ice created with the community over the years

Gonna miss you Will! You really helped out the community so much! I agree about the SA system. I sadly quit after the SA system started to get implemented in a bad way. It really started to bring down the game. I just couldn't keep up anymore, and to be honest the story quality went down a lot.

I'd like to know if the new producer and the changes they made after they joined had to do with decision. In any case as someone who had previously quit for about a year I understand why you are leaving the game. I wish you the best of luck with what you do after this. I admit the gacha is part of the problem for me. Since I have been back I have been blowing through stones and haven't gotten crap. Very demoralizing. I also have Steam so I have games on there to go to if I quit this again.
Unfortunately the new producer came alongside the negative changes to the Gacha especially the SA system. That of course affected the sidegrading system which was the primary way players could keep progressing.

Thank you for all the wonderful videos and contribution to the community. After the anniversary I decided to quit for many of the same reason you have. The passion is just gone. Playing the game isn’t rewarding anymore. I spent money to support the game I loved but the new systems felt like they were spitting in my face. I’ve detailed this in previous comments but I just got further and further behind while the difficulty spikes became more and more insurmountable. If it isn’t rewarding and costs an arm and leg why support it? I could have bought many full games with that but I chose to spent it on AE because it was the best gacha game around. That feeling is gone. I gave the new system a chance even when I didn’t agree with it and it just made me more and more disappointed. It sucks to see something I loved go down this path. Such as life I guess. There was nothing else left to do but quit and at least keep some of the good memories of it. Good luck with wherever life takes you Will. If you ever feel like coming back or miss making videos I’ll drop by whatever form those videos might take.

Hey Wil, I just want to say that I am very appreciative of these videos. I quit the game about 6 months ago but your videos have always been special to me and I found your guides/reviews very helpful. Another Eden was honestly such a special game for me, I remember sinking hundreds of hours into the game about a month after its release. To me, the original story(I think part ) is the best I have ever seen in any gacha game. Completing the original story was such a memorable experience for me, and the stories that followed were not bad as well. however, I feel like the story over the past 1 or 2 years is not a strong as it used to be, I feel like nothing will come close to what it once was. It really is unfortunate that AE has taken a turn for the worse, and the power creep in this game is actually insane. You were by far my favourite AE content creator and I would just like to say thanks. If you ever find another game with similar mechanics, I highly recommend you return to RUclips, your calming and genuine videos are very fun to watch. I was originally going to spend this money on buying the 1000 chrono stone pack on AE about a year ago, but I think I would rather support you than give in to the greedy devs at WFS. It really is a shame that the game has strayed so far from it's initial state.

Major reason quitting AE? Not getting SA units even though can clear current content... Light points and shadow points too high for FTP players since full is at 80 points... This game is play at your own pace but it gets harder and boring in the long run... Still. Its the best game ever for me ❤️

So sad to hear this news coming from you, i already quit since Cerius banner because I know the system will be going towards money grab, i have no problem with it but it make some of their skills locked behind paywall, unlike before SA Era where you only need the unit and thats it Hope there's some adjustments to this system

I've been wondering why I haven't been getting notifications, with the new banners, and I finally started playing the story again too. I'll miss you but I understand how unfeasible the new system made much of your content. Most gacha game content creators a whales, for a reason. It's pretty cool that this game used to be so F2P friendly, for so long. Much of it still is, but if I'd been completing game content over these past, 3.5 years (for me), instead of casually collecting waifus, I'd probably feel differently. The first mobile game, that took me away from AE was Epic Seven. The writing was awful but it had some interesting mechanics. Then they completely revamped the leveling system. Instead of using fodder characters, it became currency. Instead of being able to use duplicates to simultaneously level up and "imprint" those duplicates were only good for imprinting. I had several characters reading to be fully upgraded one day, then hardly any the next. I quit and uninstalled... but like I said, the story wasn't really worth keeping the game around just to finish. If you happen to find something else, I hope you decide to share it. Heck, it doesn't even have to be a video game. "Hi, it's Wil, Reviewer Dad"
Sad to see you go! i will miss your channel i usually watch your channel before every summon i watch yours to decide whether im gonna summon or not. but recently the rates been ridiculous, i know they spend a lot to make new content but making the game f2p friendly to hard p2w is really bad.
i understand your frustration with the SA system. imo a star chart AD would be helpful. but the story is still there and the content was beatable with older units, and the bosses were a lot of fun. hopefully we'll see you back in some form

Unfortunately, until a resolution for SA comes around, it's a big demotivator; far too restrictive and being more and more p2w. Both with Starcharts and light/shadow points (your first stellar points are at 15, a 4.5 unit that you've maxed can't even make use of it), it's a big frustration for sure. As AE is the game that has helped me get through a lot of tough days, I'll keep playing it, frustrating as recent decisions have been. Big thanks again, your work will always be appreciated.

Man, I didn't want to start the day in a bad note... guess c'est la vie. Anyway, the stuff you've mentioned is of course very central to appreciating the game or not and WFS has been turning this game into a pay2win with the SA pulls/sidegrade of sidegrade. It is demotivating and it tells me our farming in the gane, which was ok a few months ago, is not anymore. That is why I haven't been doing superbosses anymore. There's no fun in those, just a whole lot of frustration. So I just gave up on the hardest stuff, and I'm sticking with storylines, summoning whoever I can with whatever cs I have.... until my cellphone runs out of storage space, which will happen very soon. It's honestly sad to see so many people dropping the game, but it's WFS's choice to make it harder for those who have been with them since the beginning. As an almost 4-year player, I no longer feel the same drive to play, I'm playing out of fomo, and that is bad, and a sign that they have just turned this game into what is initially wasn't: just another gacha game. Hell, AE is it at its final stage concerning the plot, since we're now at the 3/4th of it. I guess this game will only have about 2 more years (or hold it until its 10th anniversary) so you're quitting on a high note, if I could say so lol

Dear Mr. Mak, Gamer dad, I'm sorry to hear you're leaving. I've followed your AE videos for quite some time and enjoy the tips to the battles/updates of the game. Sad to see you leave. Maybe later, if AE gets better, everyone can see you make a stellar return. I'm still hanging in even though it is a little crazy. I feel like there was a time they were just pumping out more characters than actual content, trying to make more money. Which isn't bad necessarily, executed the proper way. Some people enjoyed getting a slew of new characters and not content, but I'd rather see more manifest weapons, side stories, episodes, etc. I liked the encounter battles like Azami, Cerrine, (Curio weapon upgrade) & Gariyu; it made it feel great to achieve a victory in those battles. Comparing your perspective with my "casual" one (I have just ignored most Astral Archives and the last group of bounties), I can finally see how big the impact of the past few updates really was. I thought that the backlash against Steallar Awakeings was over the top, until you emphasized that more serious players were much more dependant on achievable content in a timely manner. I see your points and want to thank you for an amazing few years on this channel. Thank you for your contribution, Wil! I have been a long time player and in my early days of watching your channel, your videos motivated me to farm units like Aldo to 255 light. Sad to see the day come, but I understand because I haven't felt excited for Another Eden for a long time too. The newer character designs don't appeal to me and in terms of the stories, I feel that they are starting to lose their charm. I really want to love it and have it improve instead of the game moving towards EOS like Dragalia Lost did. I feel sad 😢... I started AE 1,5 years after Global Release, I had a lot to catch-up but I discovered your channel soon enough and helped me to get those Manifest Weapons, decide on pulling for new units and see how grindy can AE be to get those Chant Scripts and Teatrises. I understand the game is becoming quite predative: if you don't get new SA units within their banner, you are soon left behind, powercreep without a pity system is causing many Global players to quit the game. I'll stay to see new Story and skip all superbosses, they're absurdly difficult, but if the powercreep escalates, probably in several months I'll be quitting too. I hope you continue playing even if you don't make videos, just for the story and the fun, thank you for everything, Wil!!! 😊

Man, I go away on vacation and come back to discover my favorite youtuber is calling it a day (or 5 years). Wil, I don't know if you're still checking comments, but as I've indicated before, you are the inspiration I had to begin my own AE channel! I'm also a 2019+ player, and I don't recall when I discovered your channel, but I was watching your videos long before I ever created my own. I know mine is small compared to yours, but I am attempting to follow your mantra: I saw how you were attempting to make the game playable and fun for all, and that was my motivation when I began mine. Well, that and learning how youtube works from a creator viewpoint so I could keep tabs on my daughter's channel. :) I hear you regarding how some parts of the game now just absolutely require certain characters or else it's unbeatable or extremely unpleasant. My earliest videos used to showcase how to beat bosses with various teams, but recently I find myself using only the strongest characters. It's no longer a fun puzzle trying to find who can support whom; it's now hoping you get a powerful character and building around them. I've tried to adapt by showing how to build around multiple meta characters, but you're right...many fights are simply not possible with most existing characters. And that's a sad thing. Not to mention the collection headaches. I've always said that games should be fun. If you're not having fun, do what's best for you. Enjoy playing at your own pace for a change and not stressing over video production or fighting WFS! I would have loved to collaborate with you on some casual chat videos; you are somewhat like an idol to me, but I'll do what I can to continue your spirit. So sad you’re leaving, I so enjoyed sharing this journey with you. The one thing you did that made your videos stand out was that you talked and explained WHY you were using certain characters or spells, which enabled me to learn or to make substitutions of other characters who could fill the same roles. For me the biggest problem hasn’t been the SA system so much (though the problems you foresaw are becoming apparent), but rather that the super bosses have gotten so difficult they are no longer fun and I can’t beat them without help despite having a terrific roster. That and the new characters being so complex I don’t understand how to use them. We’ll miss you.
Thank you for the kind words. I enjoyed hearing about your family's progress in AE, especially Chaos. Like you mentioned, there are many problems that have arisen including the difficulty/complexity of the superboss fights. They even negate the abilities of your team (nullify barrier pierce, 100% type/phys up to name a few) making them not fun anymore.

I don't comment often but I've quit this game 3 times now and every time gamer dad helped me understand what I was behind on. I remember how I thought some of the voice over in your videos felt cheesy but honestly I think back on it now that I just had my first kid and I have to say its inspiring how you were able to build such a fun relationship with your kids using this gatcha game. You will be missed by this community and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if this game was on its way out because having recently come back it does really feel like they are wringing the player base out even though they stuck with the game.

Seriously WFS really a way to support AE content creators especially with the recent negativity surrounding the SA system ! My bro Wil, take a break as burnout can be bad and it doesn't matter how much time man, your wellbeing matters alot then a game since you're playing to HAVE FUN !!! Even tho I'm an AE subreddit mod for now 2 years and counting, I took a break due to IRL and Medical reasons and I came back 8 months ago and still got welcomed ! As for me, I'm currently going to play the game seeing as the RNG at least sparing me and I have Apocrypha/Future Mythos and Main Story to play BUT (And a big But !) I decided on pulling the plug on buying CS even for SDEs for these reasons: 1) SDE losing it's value and I can't justify 2) Even 7 years ago, Another Eden is STILL not available in my country so I have to use 3rd party to download it and I can't even use the subscription service and Steam version is AWFUL AF so yea.

Recuerdo muy bien que Berserk tuvo 3 colaboraciones y nunca obtuve a Guts, así que mejor lo deje. Ya con AE yo llegue con la mentalidad de que solo es para pasar el rato y no tener todos los personajes, mucho menos los nuevos, casi ni le prestó atención, tan así que no he hecho ni el 50% del contenido en los 2 casi 3 años que llevo jugando. Pero igual ste deseo lo mejor en tu vida y a ver qué pasa en el futuro con AE y tú canal.

God i remember watching your videos regularly back when the persona 5 collab was still new... Watching your guide fighting against the hardest super boss at the time the twins haha. All in all my enjoyment for AE has always been for the story, while the SA system could be better (they really should just make it drop like chant script tbh) the quality of writing and music is really what keeping me in another eden. (Funnily enough, i almost uninstalled AE due to how boring the main story is during the "goddess of time saga" haha, thankfully they released the mythos story in the western continent and GOD that story really cemented my love for AE and they have been releasing amazing storyline since then) Well here's hoping that one day you'll pick this game again one day (no pressure tho 😂).

It's sad to see you go, but this cant be helped, given the current state of this game, new players, f2p cant no longer catch up with this game, the hopeless feeling to side-grade a Stella Unit, like 3 months for only one character. Nevertheless, best of luck for you.

I kind of felt it coming. The game just hasn't been as fun. The story is great and all, especially side episodes that really impressed me (The swords and wings mythos and Wryz saga have been amazing). But the pulling system's evolution and greediness has taken its toll on me. I just feel a bit burnt out from many things in life, I don't need to feel that as well from a GAME I am playing. Wish you the best for what's to come !

I stopped playing Another Eden before the new system arrived and, to be honest, once my luck in the gacha evaporated and treatises and chant scripts became scant, I retreated. There was just no sense of progress in terms of side-grading characters and winning the big boss battles, so I Iost interest. I thought the original system had a reasonable, viable f2p path, but I (personally) stopped thriving in that system but was content in the knowledge that it continued to work for other f2p players. I am sad to hear that this has changed. I saw a glimpse of the new system, but I had stopped logging on enough to even figure it out, but if your video is anything to go by, I will continue seeking out other games. With that said, I truly loved this game when I started out. It was the first mobile game I ever played; It was so charming and fun, with well-developed characters and a good story, and you were my go-to channel for strategy and advice...or just watching your amazing gacha pulls. It was a ride, and I will continue to have fun memories of Aldo ("Al-pal") and the gang and watching GamerDad videos to get me through. It was a time. 😊 I wish you all the best, and who knows? Thank you for the outpouring of support and kind words, they really do mean a lot to me. I'm so happy to hear from you all, and I do recognize most, if not all of you. I've read all your comments. Even though work and personal life was a factor, the fact remains that the SA system and its effects on account progression, the negative banner changes, the fact that many SA units are NOT useful unless awakened, off-banner pulls and sidegrading being punished/impossible, FOMO for getting the newest unit within it's featured banner, the forever $tarchart debt (basically the greedy gacha system changes as a whole among other issues) PLUS the Astral Archive pay to win model that has made this game unenjoyable for me.
I still love the game and wish things were different, but like many of you said, all good things must come to an end. It's too bad that it's mainly due to the game system and enjoyment factor going downhill though. I might still play the main story since I do enjoy the story overall. I hope to meet you again, whether WFS changes its direction on this game, or perhaps on a new one!

Thank you so much for all your contributions to the community these past 5 years, I'm really really sad to see you go but I understand that the way WFS has been handling the Stellar Awakening system has made it more difficult for f2p players to keep up with the game. For your sake as well as for the sake of all the others who left for the same reasons as you, I really hope that the devs will take notice of these reasons and implement changes to make things more fair again. I love this game so much for its story, characters, and world despite not being the best at superboss content, but I suppose quality story isn't enough to keep everyone around if the gacha system loses its uniqueness that it once had within the gacha industry.
I'm trying to believe that this isn't a permanent goodbye but rather a break for your mental health + a test to wait and see if things within the game will change for the better. If/when WFS actually does address these issues and makes the much needed changes that the community has been calling for, will you consider coming back to the game?
Thanks for the kind words. If they made significant positive changes to the SA system, then yes I would consider coming back to AE. I really do love the game but the current path of the game and system are simply not acceptable for my play style. I am still halfheartedly doing my keys and may even start the main story. We shall see.
I get it and I don't blame you , the stellar awaken system makes me not even want to go for the paid banners (thankfully, they are making units more useful even in the "regular" star version now... I think they learned a lesson)
banners like star dream used to be great.. now? the units I get from it are lacking. If you do decide to come back..... one interesting way to do it could be a new account with a new mindset....saving more, summoning on very few units, not feeling like you must clear everything.... I had quit the game but after giving it some time this is what made me come back.... probably wouldn't work as much as a youtube thing.... but it could work for personal enjoyment.

I've followed your channel for I don't know how long at this point, having played this game on and off, off currently, and I've always appreciated your input about things, should you summons for both paid and free players, guides for superbosses. I believe I even superchatted money to you during a livestream...I've never done that before. Thank you for all that you've done for the game, I agree with your current thoughts on the game 100% and I understand and emphasize with your reasons why you would stop uploading AE content.
The whole apathy thing, I remember the first time I felt that though it was before the SA system. It was the final boss of the AS Cerrine boss series. I wanted to see the rest of her story really badly but that boss fight annoyed me so much it made me pull for Yakumo. It was rough, I think I spent 15k stones or near that and I got him, and easily destroyed that boss and felt nothing. I did get to see the rest of what happened and enjoyed it thankfully, but as for bossing from then I was really checked out as far as it comes to this game and I was already not too much of a super bosser. The fights just got less and less fun.
The SA system? Yep, stopped caring about keys once they started this system (unless it's for episode dungeons). I stopped caring about gameplay and having units for that matter when they introduced this system. I truly hope they amend the system to be better for players but seeing as the game appears to be gaining revenue (at least compared to before the SA system) so unfortunately don't see it happening. I still really do enjoy the story too, I look forward to finishing it or catching up with it eventually.
It was really cool seeing that (or knowing rather) you played AE with your family and using it as a way to teach, bond, and have fun. It's truly a shame to see all of that fade away, hopefully there are other ways you guys somewhere can find that kind of magic. I'll stay subscribed for that tiny chance that you come back to post. It's been a pleasure, thanks for being a gaming dad.

Aww, it's been quite a while I've been on and off with the game. I think that the sidegrade system is AE is really good compared to any gacha games I've played. But as you said, I think since the Stellar Awakening update things feels so different. I also think the same about the state of AE.

I've been playing this game from the beginning like you (since March 2019) and sometimes I watched your videos just like others. Even though it's very less nowadays (especially since I have a different views of SA that's quite a contradiction to yours), I respect your decision to quit the game as a whole
I mean if I were in your shoes, playing something that doesn't bring joy into our lives anymore, then what's the point of continuing? Obviously I would make the same decision as you. But again, personally, in the case of AE, I haven't reach to that point yet. Nevertheless, maybe one day I as well would arrive to this nether stop like you are right now
Fortunately though, every content in the game is permanent (except with campaigns or keys), so you can come back anytime, both playing it on-screen or off-screen. However, putting that aside, I hope the best for your future endeavors, whatever the step you will take next

I'm willing to stay with AnaDen due to the story rather than the gacha or gameplay, but I'll admit the gacha has made it demoralizing if they don't plan on making it more player friendly.

It was quite an enjoyable journey which will probably stay with me in my memory forever.

Gonna miss you Will! You really helped out the community so much! I agree about the SA system. I sadly quit after the SA system started to get implemented in a bad way. It really started to bring down the game. I just couldn't keep up anymore, and to be honest the story quality went down a lot.

I'd like to know if the new producer and the changes they made after they joined had to do with decision. In any case as someone who had previously quit for about a year I understand why you are leaving the game. I wish you the best of luck with what you do after this.
I admit the gacha is part of the problem for me. Since I have been back I have been blowing through stones and haven't gotten crap. Very demoralizing.
I also have Steam so I have games on there to go to if I quit this again.
Unfortunately the new producer came alongside the negative changes to the Gacha especially the SA system. That of course affected the sidegrading system which was the primary way players could keep progressing.

After the anniversary I decided to quit for many of the same reason you have. The passion is just gone. Playing the game isn’t rewarding anymore. I spent money to support the game I loved but the new systems felt like they were spitting in my face.
I’ve detailed this in previous comments but I just got further and further behind while the difficulty spikes became more and more insurmountable.
If it isn’t rewarding and costs an arm and leg why support it? I could have bought many full games with that but I chose to spent it on AE because it was the best gacha game around.
That feeling is gone. I gave the new system a chance even when I didn’t agree with it and it just made me more and more disappointed.
It sucks to see something I loved go down this path. Such as life I guess. There was nothing else left to do but quit and at least keep some of the good memories of it.
Good luck with wherever life takes you Will. If you ever feel like coming back or miss making videos I’ll drop by whatever form those videos might take.

Hey Wil, I just want to say that I am very appreciative of these videos. I quit the game about 6 months ago but your videos have always been special to me and I found your guides/reviews very helpful. Another Eden was honestly such a special game for me, I remember sinking hundreds of hours into the game about a month after its release. To me, the original story(I think part ) is the best I have ever seen in any gacha game. Completing the original story was such a memorable experience for me, and the stories that followed were not bad as well. however, I feel like the story over the past 1 or 2 years is not a strong as it used to be, I feel like nothing will come close to what it once was. It really is unfortunate that AE has taken a turn for the worse, and the power creep in this game is actually insane. You were by far my favourite AE content creator and I would just like to say thanks. If you ever find another game with similar mechanics, I highly recommend you return to RUclips, your calming and genuine videos are very fun to watch. I was originally going to spend this money on buying the 1000 chrono stone pack on AE about a year ago, but I think I would rather support you than give in to the greedy devs at WFS. It really is a shame that the game has strayed so far from it's initial state.

I feel that if you still enjoy the main story you can play it, however, the gacha component will always haunt you. Major reason quitting AE? Not getting SA units even though can clear current content... Light points and shadow points too high for FTP players since full is at 80 points... This game is play at your own pace but it gets harder and boring in the long run... Still. Its the best game ever for me ❤️

So sad to hear this news coming from you, i already quit since Cerius banner because I know the system will be going towards money grab, i have no problem with it but it make some of their skills locked behind paywall, unlike before SA Era where you only need the unit and thats it

I've been wondering why I haven't been getting notifications, with the new banners, and I finally started playing the story again too.
I'll miss you but I understand how unfeasible the new system made much of your content. Most gacha game content creators a whales, for a reason. It's pretty cool that this game used to be so F2P friendly, for so long. Much of it still is, but if I'd been completing game content over these past, 3.5 years (for me), instead of casually collecting waifus, I'd probably feel differently.
The first mobile game, that took me away from AE was Epic Seven. The writing was awful but it had some interesting mechanics. Then they completely revamped the leveling system. Instead of using fodder characters, it became currency. Instead of being able to use duplicates to simultaneously level up and "imprint" those duplicates were only good for imprinting. I had several characters reading to be fully upgraded one day, then hardly any the next. I quit and uninstalled... but like I said, the story wasn't really worth keeping the game around just to finish.
If you happen to find something else, I hope you decide to share it. Heck, it doesn't even have to be a video game.

but recently the rates been ridiculous, i know they spend a lot to make new content but making the game f2p friendly to hard p2w is really bad.
i understand your frustration with the SA system. imo a star chart AD would be helpful. but the story is still there and the content was beatable with older units, and the bosses were a lot of fun. hopefully we'll see you back in some form

Unfortunately, until a resolution for SA comes around, it's a big demotivator; far too restrictive and being more and more p2w. Both with Starcharts and light/shadow points (your first stellar points are at 15, a 4.5 unit that you've maxed can't even make use of it), it's a big frustration for sure.
As AE is the game that has helped me get through a lot of tough days, I'll keep playing it, frustrating as recent decisions have been.

Man, I didn't want to start the day in a bad note... guess c'est la vie. Anyway, the stuff you've mentioned is of course very central to appreciating the game or not and WFS has been turning this game into a pay2win with the SA pulls/sidegrade of sidegrade. It is demotivating and it tells me our farming in the gane, which was ok a few months ago, is not anymore. That is why I haven't been doing superbosses anymore. There's no fun in those, just a whole lot of frustration. So I just gave up on the hardest stuff, and I'm sticking with storylines, summoning whoever I can with whatever cs I have.... until my cellphone runs out of storage space, which will happen very soon. It's honestly sad to see so many people dropping the game, but it's WFS's choice to make it harder for those who have been with them since the beginning. As an almost 4-year player, I no longer feel the same drive to play, I'm playing out of fomo, and that is bad, and a sign that they have just turned this game into what is initially wasn't: just another gacha game.

Hell, AE is it at its final stage concerning the plot, since we're now at the 3/4th of it. I guess this game will only have about 2 more years (or hold it until its 10th anniversary) so you're quitting on a high note, if I could say so lol

Dear Mr. Mak, Gamer dad, I'm sorry to hear you're leaving. I've followed your AE videos for quite some time and enjoy the tips to the battles/updates of the game. Sad to see you leave. Maybe later, if AE gets better, everyone can see you make a stellar return. I'm still hanging in even though it is a little crazy. I feel like there was a time they were just pumping out more characters than actual content, trying to make more money. Which isn't bad necessarily, executed the proper way. Some people enjoyed getting a slew of new characters and not content, but I'd rather see more manifest weapons, side stories, episodes, etc. I liked the encounter battles like Azami, Cerrine, (Curio weapon upgrade) & Gariyu; it made it feel great to achieve a victory in those battles. I thought that the backlash against Steallar Awakeings was over the top, until you emphasized that more serious players were much more dependant on achievable content in a timely manner.

Sad to see the day come, but I understand because I haven't felt excited for Another Eden for a long time too. The newer character designs don't appeal to me and in terms of the stories, I feel that they are starting to lose their charm. I really want to love it and have it improve instead of the game moving towards EOS like Dragalia Lost did.

I feel sad 😢... I started AE 1,5 years after Global Release, I had a lot to catch-up but I discovered your channel soon enough and helped me to get those Manifest Weapons, decide on pulling for new units and see how grindy can AE be to get those Chant Scripts and Teatrises. I understand the game is becoming quite predative: if you don't get new SA units within their banner, you are soon left behind, powercreep without a pity system is causing many Global players to quit the game. I'll stay to see new Story and skip all superbosses, they're absurdly difficult, but if the powercreep escalates, probably in several months I'll be quitting too. I hope you continue playing even if you don't make videos, just for the story and the fun, thank you for everything, Wil!!! 😊

Man, I go away on vacation and come back to discover my favorite youtuber is calling it a day (or 5 years). Wil, I don't know if you're still checking comments, but as I've indicated before, you are the inspiration I had to begin my own AE channel! I'm also a 2019+ player, and I don't recall when I discovered your channel, but I was watching your videos long before I ever created my own. I know mine is small compared to yours, but I am attempting to follow your mantra: I saw how you were attempting to make the game playable and fun for all, and that was my motivation when I began mine. Well, that and learning how youtube works from a creator viewpoint so I could keep tabs on my daughter's channel. :)
I hear you regarding how some parts of the game now just absolutely require certain characters or else it's unbeatable or extremely unpleasant. My earliest videos used to showcase how to beat bosses with various teams, but recently I find myself using only the strongest characters. It's no longer a fun puzzle trying to find who can support whom; it's now hoping you get a powerful character and building around them. I've tried to adapt by showing how to build around multiple meta characters, but you're right...many fights are simply not possible with most existing characters. And that's a sad thing. Not to mention the collection headaches.
I've always said that games should be fun. If you're not having fun, do what's best for you. Enjoy playing at your own pace for a change and not stressing over video production or fighting WFS! I would have loved to collaborate with you on some casual chat videos; you are somewhat like an idol to me, but I'll do what I can to continue your spirit. So sad you’re leaving, I so enjoyed sharing this journey with you. The one thing you did that made your videos stand out was that you talked and explained WHY you were using certain characters or spells, which enabled me to learn or to make substitutions of other characters who could fill the same roles. For me the biggest problem hasn’t been the SA system so much (though the problems you foresaw are becoming apparent), but rather that the super bosses have gotten so difficult they are no longer fun and I can’t beat them without help despite having a terrific roster. That and the new characters being so complex I don’t understand how to use them. We’ll miss you.

Like you mentioned, there are many problems that have arisen including the difficulty/complexity of the superboss fights. They even negate the abilities of your team (nullify barrier pierce, 100% type/phys up to name a few) making them not fun anymore.

I don't comment often but I've quit this game 3 times now and every time gamer dad helped me understand what I was behind on. I remember how I thought some of the voice over in your videos felt cheesy but honestly I think back on it now that I just had my first kid and I have to say its inspiring how you were able to build such a fun relationship with your kids using this gatcha game. You will be missed by this community and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if this game was on its way out because having recently come back it does really feel like they are wringing the player base out even though they stuck with the game.

My bro Wil, take a break as burnout can be bad and it doesn't matter how much time man, your wellbeing matters alot then a game since you're playing to HAVE FUN !!! Even tho I'm an AE subreddit mod for now 2 years and counting, I took a break due to IRL and Medical reasons and I came back 8 months ago and still got welcomed !
As for me, I'm currently going to play the game seeing as the RNG at least sparing me and I have Apocrypha/Future Mythos and Main Story to play BUT (And a big But !) I decided on pulling the plug on buying CS even for SDEs for these reasons:
1) SDE losing it's value and I can't justify
2) Even 7 years ago, Another Eden is STILL not available in my country so I have to use 3rd party to download it and I can't even use the subscription service and Steam version is AWFUL AF so yea.

Pero el pvp te forzaba a tener siempre los nuevos demonio o no subías de plata, y las rates muy pendejos. Recuerdo muy bien que Berserk tuvo 3 colaboraciones y nunca obtuve a Guts, así que mejor lo deje. Ya con AE yo llegue con la mentalidad de que solo es para pasar el rato y no tener todos los personajes, mucho menos los nuevos, casi ni le prestó atención, tan así que no he hecho ni el 50% del contenido en los 2 casi 3 años que llevo jugando. Pero igual ste deseo lo mejor en tu vida y a ver qué pasa en el futuro con AE y tú canal.

God i remember watching your videos regularly back when the persona 5 collab was still new... Watching your guide fighting against the hardest super boss at the time the twins haha.
All in all my enjoyment for AE has always been for the story, while the SA system could be better (they really should just make it drop like chant script tbh) the quality of writing and music is really what keeping me in another eden.
(Funnily enough, i almost uninstalled AE due to how boring the main story is during the "goddess of time saga" haha, thankfully they released the mythos story in the western continent and GOD that story really cemented my love for AE and they have been releasing amazing storyline since then)
Well here's hoping that one day you'll pick this game again one day (no pressure tho 😂).

I kind of felt it coming.
The game just hasn't been as fun. The story is great and all, especially side episodes that really impressed me (The swords and wings mythos and Wryz saga have been amazing). But the pulling system's evolution and greediness has taken its toll on me.
I just feel a bit burnt out from many things in life, I don't need to feel that as well from a GAME I am playing.

I stopped playing Another Eden before the new system arrived and, to be honest, once my luck in the gacha evaporated and treatises and chant scripts became scant, I retreated. There was just no sense of progress in terms of side-grading characters and winning the big boss battles, so I Iost interest.
I thought the original system had a reasonable, viable f2p path, but I (personally) stopped thriving in that system but was content in the knowledge that it continued to work for other f2p players.
I am sad to hear that this has changed.
I saw a glimpse of the new system, but I had stopped logging on enough to even figure it out, but if your video is anything to go by, I will continue seeking out other games.
With that said, I truly loved this game when I started out. It was the first mobile game I ever played; It was so charming and fun, with well-developed characters and a good story, and you were my go-to channel for strategy and advice...or just watching your amazing gacha pulls.
It was a ride, and I will continue to have fun memories of Aldo ("Al-pal") and the gang and watching GamerDad videos to get me through. It was a time. 😊 I wish you all the best, and who knows?
