Fine little wheelgun, I have my wife's grandfathers; a Detroit Jeweler back in the 50s. Surprisingly accurate once you learn the gun. I carry it around the property in the period Brauer hoister bought for it by her grandfather, no point in it being a safe queen, it's an S&W afterall. Started a law enforcement career back in the early 80s with a 686 and with the exception of a few SIGs & others SAs as my career progressed, I've never moved away from S&W.
My grandfather would make wax handloads for his snubby so us boys could target practice in the alley behind his house in the old River Quay, today outta all the autoloaders I own I often pack just a hammerless j frame with a couple speed loaders, in my opinion they're hard to beat.
@Jason Ashley Your grandfather was a great to do that for you. My grandpa started me hunting and fishing with him when I was 6 years old. At 73 I have lots of great memories of him.
Nice video and nice shooting also. Just picked up one of these a week ago in 97% condition. It's older, in that it has the half moon front sight in lieu of a ramp front sight, and is also a 5 screw like yours. Looking for some ammo for this little 38 S&W caliber revolver to wring it out. It was packed in cosmoline and apparently stored for some time.
I have one,it won't go through a stop sign but it will dent the crap out it.Go doing and about turn around while paint floats down.Think it would work up close.
Saw your content on the Terrier and enjoyed both. I'm subscribing!! I have a 442 that I bought at the LAPD Academy Store in or about 1995. Have the box and probably all the paperwork and the original screwdriver. I also have a M19-4 2.5" that I bought new about 1980. Then I saw your fighting shotgun content and that truly excited me and as soon as I finish this I am watching those! How about content on that m19 in 2.5 and 4"? How about content on the old 870s and Ithaca 37s?
I have a 1952 post war Regulation Police 5 shot I-frame in the .38 s&w caliber as well but mine has the standard 4 inch barrel and the front blade half moon sight as well and yes with diamond wood grips and boy is that pistol shockingly accurate to say the least out to 15 yards I know !!! Got to do some paper testing soon to see just how accurate it really is !!!
@Jeffrey Elliot Great little revolvers aren't they? I also have a similar S&W but in 32 S&W Long. I've bought three of these revolvers in the last 2 months. They seem to be popping up everywhere. Haven't shot any of them yet, but have been locating ammo so that I can wring 'em out.

Smith & Wesson makes high quality firearms.

I agree! They always go bang. And you have 10 more rounds with those two speed loaders.

@@FieldStrip357Thanks for the heads up!
I'll take one!! They need to bring that back out. Very cool.
awsome and classic pistol 🔥
I started shooting S&W’s back in 1982, still carry my 10-5 snub everyday!
It’s a carry weapon that you can count on to go bang every time. If it doesn’t……just keep pulling the trigger.

I wouldn’t want to be caught on the other-end-of-it that’s for sure!
