Licensed for half a century. About five calls over that period. Now KC1CCG. CW my favorite mode. Navy taught me to copy at 40WPM . Fun hobby with many aspects. I like the tech part. Don't be intimidated if you are new to it. QRP is a great challenge (getting by with low power) get into it, learning, building and operating CW keeps the brain exercised. 73 (my age too!)

Also i'll add, I bought the 7300 and that was very helpful to be able to see the signals. One of the best purchases i've made in life!!

My solution to the water/food issue while hiking most of the time is to carry little water because it's so heavy and a convenient water filter like the katadyn vario which is a little on the heavy side but nothing compared to extra water. Then have a collapsible bag like a camel back that you can fill if you're not going to be away from water for awhile like if you're going to summit or something. I also stopped using camel backs most of the time and use bottles now. So much more convenient to me. I do have a couple different systems for water filtration though.

Regarding the noise/freq's in the beginning, when I first got my ticket in '14 I got on to the SETI site. They had/have a link where you can monitor incoming celestial sounds listening for abnormalities.
After a couple days, I figured it was just white noise on a loop and listeners were just being punk'd. Disheartening as I wanted to take that side of freq's and radio serious.

Can't do it man. Appreciate the effort, but if it's a chat have it be a chat. If it's a course, have it be a course. I'm out.

Everytime I start to watch one of your videos, you seem more interested in your fan base than actually getting to the point. Sorry buddy, I can't watch your videos. I would like to learn something from your videos, but if you can't get to the point in the first 5 seconds, you are a waste of my time.

I'm trying to listen to this but you waste an awful lot of time in instruction. I'm here to learn, not waste time.

If you dont have the patience to watch an hour video, then you'll never get it. Plenty of info in the video but hey go read the book if u feel its better🤷🏼‍♂️

I'm done. I'll go back to books instead of listening to you just chatter. An instructional course is supposed t0o educate. If you need a proper instructor call me.
