3 week ago, I say "Ok let's get out the U.S" the following week, I was in Medellin not knowing anything about Colombia for 2 weeks. Yesterday, I was supposed to go back home but I said YOLO and now I'm staying for 3 months. 😂I am falling in love with Medellin and I think this is just the beginning of my story

Born and raised in Northern California and have been to Medellin. First time there (2005) I said to myself that very same thing "I can see myself living here ". Never made the jump but it's definitely in my short list of retirement locations. Happy for you.

We moved to from Florida to Costa Rica for 6 months, then Mexico for 2 years with nothing more than high school Spanish. It was hard! But Spanish speaking people have always been very kind and showed great patience with our terrible Spanish. Lol.

We just came back from Medillin. I don't speak Spanish, but my dad (Gringo) lives there. It was HARD not being able to communicate. Woooo! I've been to Costa Rica and it was different, but this by far was the hardest even with my dad who is fluent.
