Thank you for the video. It was great tutorial. However, I would have liked to see how you came up with the stepped impedance w50, w54, w81 and w129. I realize these are the high and low impedance ranges, but perhaps you could said a bit more about how you calculated them or if you have some equations or process on how to generated them that would be awesome to know too. You used LineCalc for the microstrips, what did you use to derive the stepped impedance values, and how? How did you come up with the lengths too?
Dear Kyle Davidson, Thanks for the video. I would like to ask, what if I want to use EM model from layout into schematic for optimization and tuning. I already simulated the look alike model from layout into schematic, but when i tried to tune it or optimization it gives error. Please share the correct procedure for that. Thanks in anticipation. (error: Failed to generate a new data. Open /momServer.log for more information.) ( Fatal error occurred while evaluating model `MomCmpt', instance `X1.em_data'.)
Dear Kyle Davidson, Thanks a lot for your guidance.I am designing the wide band filter for receiver of cognitive system. I am having difficulty of defining the layer files in ADS 2011.5 which we used to define in ADS 2009 manually. Can you guide me how to define the layer files(TOP, BOTTOM, VIA and etc) in 2011.5 environment???
Sir how can we tune and optimise a s2p port which has already imported non ideal values. Sir while we try to optimise it oly the temperature value is optimised not the value of the parameter.
Following error occurs when I try to simulate the library part in a new schematic. Any solution??? (stdcmds.ael line 229, column 30) Failed to create netlist: In design `MyLibrary1_lib:cell_1:schematic': The instance `I__1' has 2 pins, but the view `MyLibrary1_lib:LPF:schematic' has 0 pins.
+Gautam Sarkar I think he got the LPF prototype values (g values) from tables given the specifications (maximally flat or equal ripple, attenuation at _ GHz, etc...), then used Richard's transformation and Kuroda's identities to transform that lumped element circuit into a distributed element circuit. Finally, he impedance scaled by multiplying all impedance values by 50, and frequency scaled by making all transmission lines have length lamda/8 at the cutoff frequency. To compensate for discontinuities, I think that he kept the lengths of all microstrip lines as is, but tuned the widths (w50, w54, w129, etc...) until he obtained a good S21 and S11.
Hi Kyle, I want to design a circuit with a 1ns rise time and includes, resistors, capacitors, zener diodes and MOSFETs. In your personal opinion, is ADS suitable for such a circuit?
You can accomplish this in number of ways. Lumped component impedance match inductors & capacitors, Low loss and moderate Bandwidth, small and low cost. Microstrip impedance transformer, low loss, cheap and moderate bandwidth but will depend on the substrate material selected (PCB). Resistive transform or minimum loss pad, very wide bandwidth, lossy (typ 6.02dB) and low cost. You can also do a hybrid structure, printing inductors and capacitors if space, PCB dk and W/H allows a small geometry and good control. Look up microwave101 website for examples on above
Excellent Video. Kyle Davidson Thanks a lot Wherever you are.
The explanation is crystal clear and crisp , to the point.
This was way too much beyond expectations. Thanks for this great tutorial!
Great video. Really well presented. Please make more, it helped me a lot!!
great tutorial. I hope you'll able to do more of them.
Thanks Kyle, this was great to watch and run through.
That was a very informative tutorial. Thank you.
It was an amazing tutorial! Thanks a lot, Kyle!
fantastic sir,,, u covered all things which was seeking for
how did you choose the values of L, 2.5mm, 4.69mm and 4.55mm, sir ?
Amazing tutorial. Thank you!!!
That's really amazing and very helpful, thank you!
Thank you very much Kyle Sir and may god bless you
Thanks for the nice tutorial. Appreciative!!
Excellent job thanks

did you know how to calculate length and width of these stubs?
Also why we have used open circuit stub instead of short circuit?
I appreciate your video! It was very helpful!
Thanks for your video
Hey there i have a doubt how did you use the msub comp whenever i click on msub i get an error message
please make some more design for low noise amplifier using the ADS using the 3-D VIAS
Hey Kyle, can you describe how are you using lengths of MLIN different from calculated using LineCalc tool?

How do you find the impedance for this filter(129,50&81 ohm)?

Hi,
Is this 3 stub filter? on which basis w50,54,129 are calculated and why you considered w50,w54,w129.
Thanks
sir substrate Filter which is use in vedio is not mention in our ADs softwere what i do
Sir how can we tune and optimise a s2p port which has already imported non ideal values.
Sir while we try to optimise it oly the temperature value is optimised not the value of the parameter.
How will i design an SIw from a tranistion to microstrip?
how did the mag and phase plots are opened automatically? FOr me it didnt happen
Hey, I have the exact same project so your help will be much appreciated. How did you find all the values?
Hi, can you tell me how to set the bandwidth on ads? Thank you!
nice work
Can someone guide me if i want to make a balanced bandpass filter

+08Ultrasonic use Electrics is much better
姚奇 Do you have a link to Electrics? Thanks
well I understood that how you got W an L for Tx line but when you L is 8.8 or something why did you chose it be 2.35mm for MLIN
hi.. Please upload series of videos by taking examples of different RF components .... thanking you..
from schematic, how to know the width and length in TL and T junction from the resistance in schematic?
.
Sir how to convert this design to LC equivalent circuit.
