She is correct.. I tend to sell my winners too soon most of the time. They always seem to run up very soon after I sell... I put too much emphasis of a winner , money made is always a good thing.. Have to remember “ the trend is your friend.”

I take the buffet approach: Research the company from top to bottom, invest in what you know, it doesn't take 20 or 30 companies to build a strong portfolio but only a handful. It only takes 1 home run to be a winner and out perform the market.

That’s an excellent point @not important, and I agree completely. I’ve been planning my trades better and entering a stop loss when I open the trade. I still have a long way to go, but at least I’m not holding on to bad positions and hoping they’ll reverse anymore. This is all the more important now considering to volatility we’ve been seeing the past few days.
Prof. Johnathan McCaskill I’ve made the same mistake myself, holding on to a loser hoping it will reverse. You nailed the way to fix it, have a plan, including exit strategy and point, before you initiate the trade and place your stop loss immediately. It is hard to decide exactly where to put your stop limit to give the stock room to fluctuate, but also to minimize the losses.

Day trading stocks isn't as hard as most people say it is, it's all about experience and how much expertise one has in that field tbh. Day trading stocks has really helped me grow financially, 2019 was a brilliant year and 2020 surely would be a much better year!!
I am perfect. I did a perfect 2 month losing streak! 140 trades , no green days. I traded only 100 shares max and 1-2$ stocks. Now I finally had a 5 days green. I am down from 10-15 trades a day to 2-3. You helped a lot! Thank you! Your weekly reviews and the "bag holder" chart concept helped a lot.

I was stumped with this question too when I started getting interested in finance. I'm still young so it was hard for me to find anyone seriously into stocks and that can teach any useful skills.
I've resorted to reading and I feel that the more I read, the more I realize, most people don't know what they are doing. And the people who claim to know, don't usually have a long record of consistency.
You can learn from investing and trading legends but in the end you have to create your own trading system that fits your beliefs about the market along with your own return goals and risk tolerance. Same thing for me about 3 years ago. I traded all set ups. Bullish or bearish it didn't matter. Telling family and friends I can make money in any market condition. My position sizes at the time were all over the place. It was horrible. Blew up a loan HAHA. Then I stepped back. Focus on a divergence set up. And today that's my number one trade. Then I added trading the second move on the 5 minute as a set up. Kept my positions as close to the same as I could and never looked back. In 2019 I went 100% mobile day trading and I love it. I day trade weekly options on mid/large cap. Whatever is moving pre market I'm there at open.
