Conditions that are extremely tough on the boats as well as the skippers. Respect to all who traverse the oceans of the world and even more so those who attempt this single-handed. 👌🏻
Bravo. À dans 4 ans.
Damn! This is what makes the Vendee so much more exciting than the America's Cup. It's too bad she's retired. I don't understand French but I enjoyed watching her videos. Her quiet strength was clearly evident.
@@maxhugen While the audience would be small, as an online event showing live video, maps, and commentary on strategy, it could be super popular in the sailing community. I know so many sailors who are utterly turned off by the hyper-tech direction of America's Cup racing, and I feel confident they'd be glued to the Vendee if properly covered.
@@hd-xc2lz Agree that IF there was more video of them sailing, it would be popular. However, to think that the IMOCAs are much less technically complex than the AC75s would be a mistake IMO. All they are missing are foils on the rudders, and they'd be fully foiling. Wouldn't surprise me to see Rules change in the not too distant future.
@@maxhugen Yes I know much tech is involved in the IMOCA, but at least at this point the managing of seas and currents remain an issue. The AC75s have more or less divorced themselves from such concerns, rendering the skipper a glorified cheerleader.
Then call it sailing or a tour not a race, a race implies that winning is important when for you this has nothing to do with winning, if you just compete are you a winner??? Have you ever posed for Honcho Magazine??? ( Shake and Bake )🍀🤙🏽🏄🏻♂️
@@bigeyetuna6228 of course , good for you if you finnish first. But this race is not only focused on that, we leave that for binary minds. The last to cross the line 4 years ago became rich only because of the book of his adventure. The very first one became famous ( Moitessier) because he decided not to come home, not to take his prize and continue to sail... The adventure, the test, is more important than the podium.
Vincent , (plaisancier voilier 31 pieds...!!)
Its a great piece of video, it really captures the speed of the boat, all from a hand held selfie stick! Isabelle is an outstanding skipper, in there with a good chance of top 10 before her boat started letting her down; even then she was hanging in there'till the keel swung free. Currently making 5 to 6 knots towards the Brazilian Coast which is a bit over 600 nm away. Here's hoping for clam seas, a following wind and a safe harbour!
I,m so sorry for youre problems and to retire. Wish you good sailing to Brasil. Please you can still be proud about your skills and very good sailing. Alles Gute Isabelle Joschke. Will Sie ermutigen.
How did she get this shot? It appears that the camera is about 6 meters off the stern of the boat, but we don't see a pole or anything. Also, how fast is the boat going?
You know best what is good for you and your boat. I only can pledge to Neptun to calm its rage as it is not your fault. Mast und Schotbruch. Mia san mia.Power durch die Mauer.
Großartig ! Respekt, Respekt, Respekt. Mein DANKE geht an Isabelle.

Well, it might be more exciting if they actually managed to produce some video coverage of the racers.

Absolutelly fascinating . Power with you Isabelle.
One of the best VD videos, really . Ok, it's downwind....but with a wobbling keel?! SEAWOLF!
For me they're all winners, never mind if they retire or not. They are winners because they survived the trip through hell. 👍👍👏👏

The guy who came in 1st had style and class, thanks for that and I understand the spirit of the competition better, Cheers 🍀💚🍻

It's wonderful. You, the boat and the sea and nothing else
Komm gut heim, Isabelle! In 4 Jahren bist du ganz vorn dabei....Gruss aus München :-)
Wow! Incredible video! Thanks Isabelle.
In or out of t the race she still run and her victory will be the same than the others, she will have done! Respect for that. Bon vent!
Nice Isabelle, thanks for the view!
Fantastic! all of you skippers and teams are just fantastic. Thank you All!
Incroyable... Bravo et courage🌊⛵🌍🐳🙏🙏🌞🙏
with a dodgy queel, thats so dangerous, so sketchy... Courage Isabelle, reach land quick and safe. True adventurer right here.
Ganz tolle Bilder Danke❤️🙏🍀
Fantastic footage gives a great feel of realism
Quelles images !!
Please come back again for another go You can do it Isabella

Amazing woman. So sad to see you out of the race.
OMG, she was doing so well. It's very sad to see her now, limping through the Atlantic. But there will be another VG.
thank you for the share and wishing you well
I wanted to write exactly the same.
Amazing! Have been following you all you are all very courageous. Good luck on the way home
Quelles images!

In a time when everything went well, sad for her to abandon the race.Edit:Or like Sebastian Destremeau says"retire" from the race. He's a winner too!
It will be dangerous for her to continue
Since Moitessier anyway... heartly thanks to you... from a Hobie 14 :)
Super. Merci
Huge respect for the courage and skill set to do this. BRAVO!! How fast was that boat going? 😳
grande Comandante Isabelle
That is awesome. Keep up the great work
Bravo et bon vent.
outstanding!!👍👍👊
Best VG video yet.
I thought planing in my 505 was pretty cool... but in a 60 foot Imoca? Wow!!!
😵😵 that speed💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Absolutely wicked!
Wow! The speed is out of this world. How did manage to take this video?
Bravo!
0:00 It's amazing how pronounced the curvature of the Earth is when seen from the ocean :-)
good joke ... I mean, for sure you know the fish eye effect of an action cam - no?? ;)
Great view - would like to know boat speed at the time.
Awesome footage!
.....Like a train in the track.....⛵____________
Amazing! but how is she filming? camera position...
Top Bravo Madame .
magnifique
Damn, that's fast.
AWESOME!!!!
That's one hard core sister right there.
Wow - great footage- that’s what we want to see - any drone Pilots out there?
Incroyable!
Wahnsinn 👍🍀
Awesome
That’s some speed she is going!!! Where is the camera? Surely not a drone??
Selfie stick
What a time she has now in the mid of south Atlantic with a broken boat more drifting then sailing.
Sadly the boat broke under the Pacific conditions.
👏👏 awesome
How did she get this shot? It appears that the camera is about 6 meters off the stern of the boat, but we don't see a pole or anything. Also, how fast is the boat going?
Maybe she's using a drone.
Trés bon skipper
Wow, looks like fun! (As long as everything goes well... :-)
very very cool indeed. Does anybody know how those filmes are made? Drohne? Something attached to the boat?
Selfie stick
One complaint. Video too damn short! LOL! To think what we just saw for 1:14 skippers are looking at for two or three months.
Wow I wonder how many knots she was doing?
We need a time machine. Magellan enters the southern ocean and then one of these babies goes blasting by....
Make my younger days on a Hobie Cat look slow

Waouuuu
Superbe images !!! Comment elle a fait ça ?
Selfie stick

wow!!!!!
Is that filmed using a glider or something?
360° Cam on a Selfiestick
Is this a mounted camera or a following drone! if mounted, how?
it's mounted, you can see the pole :)
I wish I was there doing that.
Miód, malina !!!
Fast as greased lightening!
Such bad luck with keel issues.. But what a sailor !
J'en redemande une bonne heure !!!
Wouaou

Who's filming ?
Dat shit's cray!
