John- really appreciate all the content your are putting out. Could you do a video on address posture and how a more upright stance (more level shoulders) promotes a flatter back swing? Rather than being bent over at address. (Mod 6 stuff)

Thanks John for doing my topic 🫢, I think my actual question was, did elite golfers know about this back in the day? My theory is no, its not in any book i have seen, though Norman often referred to using the ground. Whilst Eamonn clearly does it, even he might not have truly realised that pulling the top of the grip up ( with his whole body not the hands) gave him more power. Its not as if kids everywhere would have been copying him 🤣 maybe they should have

In my humble opinion, one of your most interesting videos. I used to be able to hold wrist cock and swing flatter 40+ years ago when in college. Now pushing 70 (age not score), it is much harder to hold wrist cock. This video makes me think it could be a strength thing?? Does it require more than just intent to have an effective hitter strike/release???

Strength in the torso rotation is the only way to make it work property. A delayed rotation is best. It sets up everything else on the downswing to work correctly as well. In the ABS Module course, we jump on this stuff really early.... Module 3.

Could you do a video on the main reasons people back up and/or stand up and out of a shot? Is it always some type of early extension, or is there something else going on?

Too much focus on distance, clubhead speed, and not enough concern about accuracy, distance control, ball control, all the stuff that actually matters. Basically good technique for hitting it long, but bad technique for hitting it straight. I believe with proper technique, you can have both.

I think in alot of cases with irons being too upright you dont have many options other than to return the club with a high handle and early extended your body. I recently had my irons flattened by 6 degrees. Doesnt take your body long to figure out that is needs to stay in posture to deliver the club head properly for solid contact.

John, Exactly, yes a “swingers release,” just as Moe Norman went as far as saying his “secret” was his “passive hangs.” Moe Norman was a 100% “swinger.”
