Wow!! I agree, she's amazing. I'm looking forward to hearing more of Katie Keller. And of course, Bob & Nola add just the right touch!! Thanks for sharing!!
Ti-Jean Carignan le plus grand violoneux du Québec serait fier de vous Katie. Bravo. Ti-Jean Carignan, the greatest fidler that ever was in Quebec, would be proud of you Katie. I sent your Mocking Bird and Orange Blossom Special to my brother who used to play the violin (but is now crippled in a hospital). He told me later, with tears in eyes, : Cette belle fille bat quatre as--THIS CUTE KID BEATS FOUR ACES. Keep up the good work Katie.
their must be a train near by because i thought i smelled its smoke. exellent job it is great to see great young talent and the gal playing the fiddle was great to. lol thanks for sharing
I have seen a few of the videos of this young ladie. She is very good at what she does. If everyone played the same song all the same way that would be boring my friends. So young ladie keep it up.
Katie is great...I saw one time in my life...years ago...a fiddle player with a very small light hooked to the finger on the bow hand. Light were turned off and Orange Blossom Special was recorded on video...talk about a fabulous sight...black screen with this fast wild light moving super fast. Would love to see Katie play with that idea and do a video. Her bow hand on the OBS is so fast. Keep going girl. Love the fiddle....
Oh My GOD....you are soooooo good on that fiddle...and look so young!!!....my guitar instructor says the fiddle is the hardest...lol....anyways dear...keep playin'....you are GREAT!!
You've got to be kidding me. The very essence of bluegrass and fiddle music is unending improvisation and variation. I find her version very reminiscent of not only version by Buddy Spicher but also Graham Townsend, and don't try to tell me that neither of them aren't great fiddler players. If you play every tune exactly the way you learned it every single time, I'll tell you one thing, you're damn boring to listen to. I think this is a great version of OBS, by a very talented player.
Ah Katie!! I used to request this song all the time when we were in school together, albeit I called it Cherry Blossom Hoedown. Good job Katie so proud of you!!
you call yourself "bluegrasslives" yet you complain about her not playing it like everyone else.. music has always changed a bit from player to player and that actually is what makes it live, only through sheet music and recordings it gets rigid and inalterable. imagine what happens if everyone plays it just the same - it would get rather boring... i like what she did and i want to do a quote i like: "tradition is to keep the fire burning, not to worship the ashes" - it's meant to change
.......... I don't really like this version, it needs waay more triple shuffle instead of all those awkward confusing bowchanges .... Can't say I like this at all....
Thank the Lord who has given of His Talent to humans. You did a virtuoso job, this is not just playing well, its your unique stamp on it!
This is the best fiddle version I've heard with every note played with clarity. Lovely listening.
I have never been so moved by a fiddle player. She is fantastic.
Katie you are absolutely brilliant
I'm enjoying listening to this often, she is remarkable.
That is the best version ever. You really spread joy through these tunes and few can compare to the gift you have.
I can hear that long freight working over the gap and down into the valley.
Wow!! I agree, she's amazing. I'm looking forward to hearing more of Katie Keller. And of course, Bob & Nola add just the right touch!! Thanks for sharing!!
She knows the essence of the music so it can penatrate you and touch your spirit.

Nice of Marty Robbins to join in
while this may be a 'traditional song that every fiddler learns to play' not every fiddler learns to play it like THIS!!!
@kayleydiddyoyo
But I doubt they can play THIS GOOD!
What are the fingerings?
Dori age 11
the 7th graders at my school can play this
we have fiddling
Chubby would have been proud
That's what OBS is SUPPOSED to sound like!!!
i like u girl
This is the most subdued Bob Wills I've ever seen. Not one "Ah-Haaah! in the whole tune!
I think she could give Charlie Daniels are run for the money. He'd probably take her around with him. Make her famous!
