Hi both - you have a new LIDL about 10mins away up A149 toward Hunstanton. Lovely coast road along A149 all the way past Wells. Adnams shop at Holkham, Blakeney Quay for a crab sandwich and cuppa. Wells Deli for coffee and cake in Wells. Loads of nice pubs along the A149 favourite of ours is Jolly Sailor Brancaster. Nice row of shops and great petrol station supermarket for fresh produce Burnham Deepdale sell nice real ales including Oyster Catcher which is on draft at jolly sailors. Also look at the hat shop in burnham market. Enjoy! Dog friendly beach at snettisham with good bird watching.

My husband and I used to stay at Sandringham but the last time we were there I broke my foot by falling down a rabbit hole! Sadly That was the end of our caravan days. Due to my husbands illness( he has since passed away) I had to drive and change to an automatic car. The people running the site were so kind they kept our van until I had to sell it. I am now looking at a Motorhome and love your very informative video diaries. I think I could manage a small van for me and my lovely chocolate lab, Figa.

Hi B, J & P. We’re here too (pitch 35) . the couple who haven’t been here for 30 years. We’d forgotten how beautiful & peaceful Sandringham is - after the rain stopped yesterday we had a fantastic cycle ride along the scenic drive which is now closed to cars. It runs from just outside the campsite to the visitor centre. There were a lot of dog walkers enjoying it too and there’s a viewing platform from where you can see the sea. Tomorrow we’re off to the Cromer area. Enjoy!!

Turn right out of campsite. Left at x roads. Take the track on right with blue sign saying something like authorised access only (Sandringham staff assured us this is fine). First, short section is grass. Cross the road to continue the track and you find yourself on tarmac which takes you all the way to the house and visitor centre.

Just 15 minutes away from where I live Bob, get the kettle on 😀 There is a good pub just up the road (5-10min) called The Ffolkes Arms in Hillington. We are busier than normal with the lockdown and staycations. If you journey towards Fakenham on the A148 just after the aforementioned pub, you will see a left turn towards Docking. This is a good alternative road to get you to the coast leaving the queues behind. I hope you enjoy your stay 👍

There is a shipwreck there too. For a day out, Wells Next the Sea is a lovely little coastal town which has a miniature railway, a lovely walk down to the pine forest and a pretty harbour. I used to visit Sandringham regularly. My dog got ill with Seasonal Canine Illness after visiting Thetford Forest & Sandringham. Had her in the Vets 4 times in 8 days. I left for Gt. Yarmouth as I knew it was safe there. This time of year is the worst for that illness. Clumber Park has it as well. Check Poppy’s paws for soreness. Harvest Mites are probably the cause of the bites.

Hi Bob, Jen & Pops, enjoyed the video, especially because it's a C&CC site. We've just been on three C&CC sites & the balance they take on the arrival day seem to be incorrect. They don't seem to be giving the VAT reduction which is very annoying. Agree with you that its difficult to amend bookings with this club & very difficult to contact them. The C&M Club system seems better. Enjoy anyway. 🙋‍♀️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  4 года назад +1

Yes, their booking system does put us off booking with them, especially on longer tours. Their website says " Club has lowered its prices and will be applying the 5% VAT rate for stays booked and taken during the period 15 July 2020 to 12 January 2021." So, perhaps it depends when you booked it.

We've used both sites, CCC and CM, both are good value but we preferred the CM site because it had safer wheelchair access to Babingly social club which is on the A149 and had a 60mph speed limit, until Prince Phillips famous motor car accident. From the lane leading to the CM site it's just a short road to a pavement for the wife's electric wheelchair. The other lane from the CCC sites further along the fast road and doesn't have a pavement on the club side which necessitated crossing the fast road twice and with her guide dog.
Also beware of the dogs in the woods regarding the tics they can pick up, but other than that both Sandringham sites is a lovely. The squirrels will steal your cereals and bread if left out but just consider it a form of payment for Intruding into their habitats.

We have been to Sandringham CAMC site several times, but not been on the CCC site. It looks lovely and peaceful. We were surprised that they did not mention the Seasonal Caninine Illness, neither at here or Clumber park, when you visited. It has been a problem for a few years now, at both of these parks , also at Thetford, Rendlesham, and a couple of others. The Animal Health Trust were doing studies, along with vets to see if they could find a cause. It is a very sudden onset illness, which sees dogs becoming very unwell, very quickly and most sadly, don't make it. 🐾🐾😢 Small dogs are more likely to be affected, too.. so please keep Poppy out of the wooded areas. Several things have been ruled out, during studies, including Alabama rot . There is lots of information about it online. Just google Seasonal Canine Illness. Take care, and enjoy East Anglia. xx

    Hi Guys,
Hope you are both well & enjoying Sandringham. Can you please tell us how you're attaching the awning to your Motorhome, whether it's to the wind out awning or throwing straps over the top?

It's attached to the awning rail channel on the wind out awning. You can see this better in this previous video around 17:20 ruclips.net/video/5UghXd1tzAI/видео.html

Hi Bob Jenny and poppy - have you been to Cromer? It's well worth a visit! 😊

There’s always a queue to get off the A1 onto the A46/A17, it’s a very badly designed junction. You can go further down to the next junction - Coddington turn off and take to old road to get on the A17.Also, there always seems to be lots of congestion around Kings Lynn.
No toilets or showers open? I won’t be stopping at a Camping club site then.

I think there should be some discount for less facilities. Do you think prices will go up when facilities go back to how they were?

I'm just glad they're open. All campsites lost a huge amount of revenue this year.

Dad said,, due to the size. Do you feel tired when you get to your destination due to other drivers? When he is towing the caravan. Twin axle he needs a beer as setting up lol. Obviously when things are open ignoring Covid. Do you use on site pubs etc x

The easiest drives are always the ones with no traffic. What's tiring is having to think for other drivers who don't think!

Is it worth joining the camping and caravan club if I got the Motorhome and caravan club all ready ?

Well it does give you more sites to choose from. We don't tend to use them a lot because of having to give a deposit and it's not easy to change or amend your booking.

Hi guys. I'm new to the hobby and just researching options for a motorhome. I notice in this video you said you had an aquaroll. Do you mind explaining how that works with a motorhome as my understanding is that caravans use them as they have 12v power on the water inlet socket for the pump but the motorhomes I've looked at don't, so how do you pump the water into the motorhome from the aquaroll. Do you also have one of those portable grey water tanks?
I'm asking because if the music festivals ever start up again I'll be off grid in a field for 4-5 days at a time so the aquaroll/grey water solution would be brilliant.
Also, I notice you tow a car. Can I ask why, if you're towing a vehicle anyway, you don't just tow a caravan which I've noticed are about half the price of motorhomes and don't need taxing either?
    Thanks
    Graham

On the Aquaroll, our Swift motorhome has an external 12v socket so I can use a external pump to pump water into the fresh water tank. I also have a Wastemaster for disposing of the waste water. I much prefer the flexibility of a motorhome, you have everything inside with you when you travel. As for towing the car I have a whole playlist about towing the car. BTW tax on the car is just £25 a year!

Hi Bob, I have the same vehicle as you and I wondered when you are parked up at home do you leave the vehicle connected to 240w electricity 24-7. When we collected our new van last weekend the dealer was very vague as to what we should do when the vehicle was not in use. Any advice would be most welcome.

I've left all my Motorhomes plugged in when at home, never had a problem. Think it helps maintain the batteries in good condition. In winter I put the heating on low - 11 degrees.
