I’ve missed The Netherlands everyday since I visited in 2014. I hope to go back because I was too young to truly appreciate it. I see bits of Amsterdam and suddenly remember things I hadn’t thought about in years like the NEMO science centre. I still have my ticket from the trip. Post-covid I’ll definitely be back and I’ll stay far longer.
The city is build on piles in the clay. The water is in the canals. Venice ( Italy) is build on water, I think. Take a look over there how they did that. In a new area of Amsterdam is made a new polder. The build houses there. ( Former IJ, or IJselmeer. Former Southsea. There are made a ,,few,,, dikes to do that in the past in the Netherlands. Beginning with Afsluitdijk. Take a look when you are interesting. There are a ,,few ,, polders made through the ages. Started in 1100 or something. There is too much to tell. Books and books and movies full of it and people who studied for it.... You,ll understand that.❤
I live here since 2007 moved back from London to Rotterdam and I can telL you that Amsterdam is nice but it will get very boring eventually Rotterdam is the worst city EVER MY FRIEND EVER in terms of Social interactions its very much limited since majority of the people only seem to mingle with each other its difficult to find genuine Friends over here and I am speak with experience I cannot Wait to Leave the Netherlands and Never return here its most boring country I ever lived its not bad but boring after 13 years or so its time to chance scenery I guess.However this COVOID 19 THING IS DISRUPTING MY PLANS.
