Are you finding hair shavings on the machine after you make the loc? I was practicing with a "human hair" wig and I kept seeing hair shavings on the part of the machine under where the hair goes in.
I practiced mine on a human hair mannequin and it shredded 2 locs So I returned it im not sure if it was the needles because I bought it used off of EBAY But I was not Happy with it. (Any suggestions ?)
My son-in-law finally found someone near us who would actually loc his hair after 7 years of searching. This intrigues me for maintenance ongoing. He’s a white man and loves his locs. Would you recommend this machine for him for ongoing maintenance?
I’m personally not a fan of the instaloc technique or using crochet tools in general. True locs are created by the natural shedding of hair. That being said the tool does create instalocs for those that like them 🤷🏽♀️

The loc is secure and they aren’t hard but they can be. It depends on how you use the machine.

Yes. The crochet hook method in general rips the hair as it mats the hair.

You could 👍🏽 I usually just cut the extra one off…so it’s not too heavy

I wouldn’t
Yes it can be used on short hair but, it’s best to practice on a mannequin first hon🙏🏾
