Valid points about the lug width and date window. I would be happy if they made a simple version: quartz movement, 20mm lugs, no date. Full lume dial is welcomed. 😊

The full lume version is great as well. Thanks for WATCHing

I'd def buy a 20mm lug width quartz version. I'd be happy with a date window though as long as its at 6 like my V1 Berny which does need some more wrist time :)

A super affordable railway clock homage watch. I can’t really ask for much more.

It also seems to relate to a minimalist style watch. Both the lumed and the cheapest one worth buying. I have both

The new Berny Railway colourways are interesting.
Will you bet looking for the original watch it's copying?

Since you are resourceful, you can take the case back off and try and reduce the beat error with the time grapher, perhaps make a video on it too

The Miyota is a step up from the Sea-Gullible cheaper movement. At least the Japanese oil their movements but they need to be regulated by the installer. A good buy for the money though.

It definitely is. This one has some issues but I know that it will continue to work fine.

The watch looks nice. BTW good review james.

I too prefer my original Berny with the SeaGull movt.
I looked at buying that newer version but opted to just stick with the one I have, 2 years no problems.
I also have the Berny compressor style dive watch, it also stutters between 2 & 6 on the dial, thanks to that Miyota movt.
Enjoyed your video James, best wishes from Scotland

Nice one James. I actually tried on the original 41mm Mxxxaine and it was very nice but not nice enough to spend over $800 on. I do really like the design but I can't handle the stuttering Miyota. I had this on another watch and I sold it. It just felt and looked cheap. My wife actually noticed it from a distance and said I think your watch is broken. An extreme beat error doesn't bode well for the long term life of the movement. It wouldn't be for me. A high beat quartz like the Seiko VK31 could be a better option. Excellent review as always.

I had a Mondaine and it was very nice. I just did not really connect with it.
      The stutter is disappointing.

Bought mine in gun metal grey and so far I love it, and I agree that the Milanese bracelet is great quality, so I bought another Berny milanese bracelet off Amazon for another watch thinking it would be the same but very poor quality. Oh well. The only thing I hate is that tiny date window. Would look so much better without it. I don’t note why watches still have date windows, since we all have phones in our pockets at pretty much all times, and I think watches look better without the dates, but maybe that’s just me.

It would definitely look better without it. But I still really like it.

Nice looking watch. Sucks about the beat error. Oh well like you said "it is what it is " enjoy it and maybe move it on down the road.

It is a shame. It’s nice but Lilley to be sold. It will help fund the purchase of another watch.

How come you didn't buy the full lume version?

    • @WATCHingJames
      @WATCHingJames  Год назад +1

I felt the full lume looked a bit off white. I wanted that stark contrast of black on white.
Plus lume is not a must have for me. I like it. But don’t need it.

Interesting! Mine had a full lume dial. Perhaps I had a different model. Still a very good watch for the money.

There are two versions - cheaper and more expensive.

    • @WATCHingJames

Yes. I went for the white non lume dial. Felt that it made the white a little brighter.

I have both. The fully lumed one is a step up and worth the extra money.
