You do have to take care of choosing the right moment to turn the lady in and out of a Hammerlock position.

Just watching this excellent video again, as part of my daily lockdown education, and drawing hope and inspiration from it. After a year of no dancing, apart from solo practice at home, it's vital to continue learning and trying to retain what we knew a year ago, in preparation for the reopening of dancefloors- one day! The verbal explanations and instructions are just as important as the visual demonstration, so it's good mental exercise trying to remember both. Thank you salsaventura for these videos, which I'm sure are helping to keep the activity of partner dancing alive. PS I'm fortunate, or perhaps a sucker for punishment (!) that I'm also learning modern jive/ceroc, which is very similar to salsa, so for me one reinforces the other. For example The Hammerlock in salsa, is known as The Half Nelson in modern jive/ceroc. So it's a technique/move that I'm used to wrestling with 🤣😂 Stay safe everyone. Hands Face Space and Fresh Air!

Just watching this video again. Lovely move, really well explained and demonstrated, with common mistakes pointed out. If we study this video carefully and learn what to do, and not to to (!), there is no excuse for not being able to perform this move competently! Thanks for this video, another educational dancing gem!
Very nice move and excellently explained , with lots of emphasis on keeping the man's hand low to avoid injury to the lady. Look forward to testing this out on the dancefloor!
