@@captain_korea GUYS HOW ABOUT A LIVE REACTION TO SB19'S SONGS🤞🤞🤞 It will be a lot of fun i assure you😊 a roller coaster of emotion as well🤣 A'TIN will definitely love it💙
The song "Mana" by SB19, written by PABLO, is rich in metaphorical imagery, blending Filipino mythology and modern self-reflection. The lyrics reference the mythical manananggal, a creature in Filipino folklore known for detaching its upper body and flying at night, to explore themes of success, change, and perception. Here’s a breakdown of its deeper meanings and bars: --- 1. The Symbolism of the Manananggal "Manananggal, manananggal, manananggal, mana" The manananggal represents something misunderstood, feared, or mysterious. By likening themselves to the creature, SB19 acknowledges how success or uniqueness can sometimes alienate or intimidate others. "Mana" is a wordplay. It can refer to inheritance or gift, symbolizing their talent and success, which they believe is a blessing despite being doubted by others. --- 2. Recognition and Validation "Hindi ba mahiwaga? 'Di mo kilala no'ng nasa lupa pa" This line highlights how people only started noticing them after their success. When they were still "on the ground" (struggling or less known), they were ignored. The shift to "nasa alapaap na" (now in the clouds/heavens) refers to their rise in status and recognition. "Ngayong nasa alapaap na, giit ako ay nagbago na" This reflects the criticism successful people often face-that fame has changed them. The artists question why others now perceive them differently. --- 3. Resilience and Detachment "Nah, I'd rather half my body go missing, oh, yeah" This clever reference to the manananggal emphasizes their preference for detachment from negativity or superficial expectations. They're willing to "detach" themselves from unnecessary burdens to rise above. "Sa 'kin ay hindi problema, kung 'di niyo pa rin nakikita" They assert their confidence, stating that whether or not others recognize their worth, it doesn’t diminish the value of their talent or achievements. --- 4. Critique of Society "Madaya ba'ng mundo? Kung gano'n na nga, heto, babaguhin ko" The world can be unfair, but rather than succumbing to negativity, they vow to change it, embodying hope and determination. "Aswang ba kaya kinakatakutan? Bibig mo ay itikom mo na lang" The fear of the unknown (like the mythical aswang) parallels how people fear or criticize what they don’t understand. This line challenges detractors to keep their negativity to themselves. --- 5. Elevation and Confidence "I'll go turbo, turning on the nitro" This line speaks to their relentless ambition and drive, likened to a high-speed engine powering their ascent. "Zoom, papalayo, 'di na hihinto" This reflects their trajectory of success, distancing themselves from detractors and negativity. --- 6. Unity of Heaven and Earth "Langit, lupa, magsasama, basta ba maniwala" The merging of "langit" (heaven) and "lupa" (earth) symbolizes the reconciliation of dreams and reality, achievable through faith and perseverance. --- 7. Call to Action "Pasensiya ko'y 'wag mong subukan" This line is a warning to critics and doubters. It portrays their readiness to defend themselves against disrespect or misunderstanding. "Sige lang, sige, sige, 'wag lang kakatulugan" A call to stay alert and engaged, urging listeners not to underestimate their journey or growth. --- Conclusion MANA is not a short word for mananaggal. Its a dramatic twist of wordplay, Pablo transforms "MANA" from a mere abbreviation for "manananggal" into a profound concept. Rather than a literal reference to the mythical creature, "MANA" which means inheritance and receiving blessings. Pablo adds an extraordinary layer to the song "MANA" by connecting it to the mythical creature "MANANANGGAL." This symbolism reflects their commitment to staying grounded despite their rise to popularity, akin to the creature's lower body. They share this groundedness as an inheritance with their fans, fostering a powerful and lasting connection. The upper body of the manananggal symbolizes their prowess as "LIVE MONSTERS" in their singing, akin to being powerful and mighty, capable of conquering various stages. Yet, they remain grounded due to the lower body, signifying humility and rootedness amidst success.
The song depicts Manananggal ( a mythical creature whose leaving her half body on the ground while the other half flies off to haunt for its prey. People were so scared of it . I guess they wanted to express themselves that even if they can fly and on high now, their feet were still on the ground as being humble. Also, flying high means they were being looked up and feared by their haters, and nothing can stop them from getting their dreams (prey), even those people who brought them down.
Also MANA can be translated as Legacy.. They are leaving a legacy that everyone can be proud of, that eventhough everyone is throwing rocks at them, they are still pushing & doing their best until they reach their dreams💙 Only PABLO can pull off such a wordplay..very genius🤟💙
I support reactors who have technical knowledge in music. Viewers can learn from them also. Unlike others who react for the clout only knowing Filipinos are supportive.
Fun Fact: Mana is the favorite song of Ken to perform on stage, because he actually feels the song so much and transform into this cool, savage performer that he is. As much as Bazinga is solely for the haters, Mana's lyricism just give more punch to their doubters.
Captain Korea knows what they're reviewing and how to review, intricate with the technical aspects and knows vocals. Unlike others who just listens and say this and that, but they are keen in observing each song. They deserve to make reviews and comment.
MANANANGGAL IS A MYSTICAL CREATURE HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES that able to separate its upper torso from the lower part of its body. It is also reference to their message that they fly high ,dream high but their feet are GROUNDED. (TO DREAM HIGH BUT TO STAY HUMBLE)
Mana” is short for “manananggal,” a creature in Philippine folklore that can separate its upper and lower body. It is cleverly used to express the ability to remain grounded even as they reach the heights of success.
"MANA" was made by pablo (write, composed,&produced by him) And the coreography was made by other members.. Pablo's mind is out of this world🤯 And the creativity of #SB19 is unmatch..🔥
I recommend you guys to watch their epic WHAT, MANA and BAZINGA performances, ( in this order) in the PPOP CON 2022. They were truly amazing in that occassion!
This was produced by PABLO and Simon Servida. You guys should check out Simon’s vlog where he discussed how he co-produced SB19’s Pagsibol album. He made a few vlogs about it, he also has a vlog about the songs in their Pagtatag album because he was also involved in that so he might also be working in the third installment of their EP trilogy which will be Simula at Wakas (the beginning and the end). PABLO and Simon producing music is such a golden combo.
MANA Live performance on RUclips FANFEST is highly recommended.. SB19 wore a costume which is related to Manananggal (a mystical folklore from the Philippines) PABLO mostly the lyricist of SB19 songs loves to do WORD PLAY. In MANA's case , it has a lot of different meanings. *MANA - short for Manananggal a mythical creatures *MANA - inheritance/ Blessings/Grace *MANA - Power/energy (like super powers😅) *Also in Filipino, the Word "manananggal" means A REMOVER. And I think in MANA song, the haters are the remover of SB19's opportunity, but SB19 has MANA a power to defeat those haters.
Manananggal is a Filipino mythical creature that divide its body, half up can fly while half body down stays on the ground waiting. One of the messages this song implies to me is, "soar high up, looking up reaching dreams while feet on the ground" or simply saying stay grounded whatever success you may reach.
Manannangal is a Filipino mythical creature from old folk stories whose body separates in half, the upper body can fly, and the lower half remains on the ground.
This song from SB19 is still one of my favorites, but it’s definitely very underrated. It wasn’t as well-promoted as other songs because it’s mainly a B-side on their album. There’s no music video, no lyric video, and no dance practice. It’s such a shame 😭
Thank you so much for appreciating the talent and skills of our mahalima *love five* You may want also try to explore their Wish Bus live performance of MAPA it hits differently too. 💖
what's even more impressive is when they are singing live and performing the choreography the same time and keeping the high energy all together...just unbelievable!!!
Pablo wrote this song to remind them to keep their feet on the ground thou their are flying/soaring high. Manananghal is a mythical creature in the Phils. During midnight it's body cut into half, waist down stay in the ground, while the other half fly so high to hunt for a victim.
There's a lot of song that you cannot hear .. promise it will catch not only in your ear but also your heart to feel the vibe of a song and to your mind to think the meaning of the lyrics 🥰🥰 . Only in the zone of SB19 ❤❤❤
these reactors are the exact definition that shows "music is a universal language." You can enjoy music even if it's in different languages, as long as it's made with quality, good lyricsm, musicality & real talent. thank you for appreciating SB19 music. you guys are the coolest!
The song is about being humble while chasing big dreams. It's a feet on the ground while looking at the sky thing The "Mana" perf. at YTFF is a must see. You might get the outfit inspo.
I learned something new today - melody and countermelody ❤. Thank you for your reaction. You always give sound and intelligent comments ❤ more power to your channel
You pretty got the meaning of it. Mana - short for Manananggal per this song is a mythical creature (a Philippine folklore - a scary one at that who eats babies inside the belly) who can separate its body in half, the lower half waist down stays on ground and the upper part waist up flies. It's like even though they are already successful and is already up there, their feet stay on the ground - still humble and they're still the same.
I told you the adlibs are on another level in MANA. I am really happy to see your reaction to it. This is such a powerful song for me. The monstrous laughter adlibs from Josh, Ken, and Stell transported me to another dimension. HAHA..
Thank u sm! Fstan here! 🔥plz. react to our Felip solo songs, he’s versatile unique artist. A fashion influencer, too! He’s different, I bet you! Again, thanks 2 you both. 🔥 Felip/Ken
its hot with AAA right now.. so hv u guys watched SB19 live on Asia Artist Award 2023 performance? such a blown up.. that's how SB19 introduce themselves and PPOP on global stage MANA hv no MV but we already knew how the MV could be.. kk and yes their vocal always hv second voice to support each other, just like Arashi did too.. so their songs sounds full and rich..
Absolutely love Mana especially the hip thrusts they do in their dance break for this song .😂😂😂😂😂. Praying one day they will do a mv for it as well as Crimzone. Of course the lyrics and singing is also great.
The song is about Manananggal - a mythical creature in the Phils wherein the creature when hunting leaves his lower body on the ground while the upper body fly. The song is a reminder for them that if they become famous their foot is still in the ground. They will still be humble.
I still listen to MANA in 2024 and still feel that its underrated from all SB19 songs. This song deserved more love!!! It's such a great unique song unlike any other songs from the Pagsibol tracklist😊
MANANANGGAL is a mythical creatures here in the Philippines that can be able to separate the upper part of the body to the lower part and fly but the lower part remains on the ground..That's also a wordplay means soar high but remain your feet on the ground in other words MANANANGGAL song represents humbleness..like their song CRIMZONE means blood, sweat and tears..That is how Pablo's mind works😊
I agree! When their channel goes view-less, they do RV on SB19! I’m tempted to name drop that 2-guy-budding-artist-slash-producer! I unsubscribed them right away!😅😅😅
Thank you so much for this RV! 🙌 Mana is my fave #manasupremacy ! Still waiting for the MV for this, hoping for it every year! Since most already gave you what is Manananggal. But they use this as a metaphor for being humble and staying grounded. Simon Servida and Pablo produced this and Pablo wrote the lyrics! The live stage performance on their PPOP Con 2022 is fiiirreee. Definitely so much more contents to see, excited to see them with you! Looking forward to your project coming up! Lezzzzzgawwwww!
Eyes on the sky, feet on the ground. It's remaining humble even if you're already up high. Manananggal is a mythical creature that has its upper body that can separate from the lower body. Thus, the word "Mana". ❤
"SB19 GENRE" truly stands out, and many reactors struggle to define the sound they bring to the table. SB19 has created a unique style and genre of their own, setting them apart in the music scene. This individuality extends to their solo projects as well, where their artistic identities shine even more. They love to experiment and aren't afraid to step outside the mainstream or cater to everyone’s tastes. That’s what makes them special-they stay true to their craft, embracing creativity and innovation. It’s this fearless approach that elevates them to a league of their own, distinct from other artists.
wooow project related to sb19, wow I'm appreciating you more guys. Thanks for reacting to their songs, this project is just a bonus. More power to your channel!!!
MANA word itself is Inheritance in English, meaning whatever they leave in the Music world will earn a good legacy as an artist..But the real meaning of this song is MANANANGGAL, since it has double meaning, it is a mythical legend in Philippine litereature, it has deeper meaning when Pablo wrote the song, the body of manananggal cut in 2parts, the upper/torso and the other part the waist down the feet., when this creature is searching for its prey, It left the lower part and pursue it . That's how the song goes and how SB19 continue to fly high but remained humble..👏🩷💝🥰🎵🎶🎵🎸

I love your genuine reactions. Tbh, some reactors were just faking it for clouts but not you guys.
I agree! When their channel goes view-less, they do RV on SB19! I’m tempted to name drop that 2-guy-budding-artist-slash-producer! I unsubscribed them right away!😅😅😅
CAN YOU REACT TO KEN /FELIP DANCE PRACTICE OF "BULAN" AND "GIMME THAT" BY CHRIS BROWN, A COLLABORATION WITH AC BONIFAACIO PLS
Guys your reactions are awesome i always enjoy it. Looking forward to your next one. I hope it’s going to be LIHAM or WYAT thanks
Pure, voice no lipsync, not aloud in philippine country

Thank you for taking time on vid reaction for SB19
wooow project related to sb19, wow I'm appreciating you more guys. Thanks for reacting to their songs, this project is just a bonus. More power to your channel!!!
You analyzed it right! Good job!👏🏻👏🏻🇵🇭🇵🇭
You'll enjoy their live with vocal & dance performance too.
Yey!! Thank you for reacting to MANA! OMG! So excited to watch this!
Among those reactors of sb19, you guys are one of my favorite reactors already ❤😊. Keep reacting to our Malihalima 💙. Thank you guys ❤
