Hi. The tools you found on the stand are called 'companion sets' here in the UK - many houses used to be heated with coal fires, and the collection of items were used to look after them. The tongs were used to move the hot lumps of coal. The brush was used to clear the soots that fell on the fireplace, and the stick is called a poker and is used to move the fuel around when the fire is lit. I could not tell from your video, but there was also usually a shovel which was used to clear away the soot after it was collected on the shovel. The brass buckets that you showed straight afterwards are known as coal scuttles, and they were used to store the coal on the fireplace. The other stone item that you enquired about later in the video is an old bed warmer.
I've watched some of your videos on my own before, but now I'm joined by my bf Wilbur & we're enjoying your videos & learning. You have such a great instinct for locating the most wonderful vintage items. You're also very good at styling your finds...we all love to display our nice vintage items...your style & placement are always so attractive. We look forward to watching more of your videos!
Thx for sharing. I too love the wooden items and the alabaster box. You have a good eye! I get overwhelmed when I go into thrift stores but you did good 😉!
I’ve been collecting “milk glass “ for years, a lot of people don’t bother with it, but I think it’s Beautiful, I have everything from baskets, biscuit jars, vases, trinket boxes, a lot is hob~nail, I keep it all together on a large bookshelf, it’s an eye catcher❤
20:16 That lamp is really unique! I would recommend trying a shallow drum shade. I think the cylinder shape would compliment the pedestal base really well!
Thanks for sharing. I also remember the green vases you shared. I remembered them, my mother had the beverage pitcher with the matching glasses, they also came in a gold glass as well.
I love watching your thrift finds, decor ideas and tips. I live in the same area as you and I do agree that Goodwill doesn't have a great selection here. I do love American thrift stores! The tape on the items are frustrating because of some of the damage it causes. You're right to say that the prices are increasing. 😒 I'm not a reseller either, just love finding interesting things to use in my home. Look forward to more videos.
Oh I thought it was just me 😂 but I still drop in once I’m near one (Goodwill) because I can still find 1 or 2 items. I’m not near as exited when I head into ATS though! 🫣😂
for the lamp u need a drum style lampshade long w/ a small round width. picture a tootsie roll. then it would be a perfect MCM lamp. very nice. a green color would be awesome.
I just had your video pop up and will be subscribing! But I have to say Wow! Those thrift store prices are like retail. Up here in Minnesota most little figurines and plates etc. would be a few dollars.
Right!? 🤷🏽♀️The prices are ridiculous, only about 6 months ago it wasn’t this high. I guess thrifting is rising in popularity. Anyways, we will continue to thrift wisely.😊😊Thanks for watching Jessica 🙏🏽
Your RUclips videos popped up today. I watched them and really enjoyed them. So I Subscribed and will keep watching. Alot of your vision is Very similar to mine. ❤❤❤
If you will like to see how I styled some of these items, check out this video 👉🏼 ruclips.net/video/ZUoklHl8Qn0/видео.html

OMG they ARE so beautiful 🤩 the overlooked is usually the treasure and true to life 😍😍
Lovely items. The lamp shades are both too tall for your adorable lamp, but I am sure you will find just the right one as you go treasure hunting!
I have that scale! It came with a little plastic bowl. Comes in handy when you need to weigh how much you’re eating. 😉😊
Hahaha..if only it had hands to grab the snack too 🤣🤣🤣

🤣 about the fireplace toolset… I’m dominican and I remember the first time I saw those too. So many weird looking things at your store.
Hahaha..listen, it took me about 10 mins 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think the fabric artwork might be called Gobelin but that’s what we’d call it in Germany it’s a kind of woven tapestry designed for walls ❤
Oh wow I’ve never heard of that, so cool 😎 it’s so beautiful 😍
Thanks for connecting 🫶🏽
Those charcuterie boards were my favs! What a great deal! Our thrift stores aren’t nealy as good, and I agree, prices are skyrocketing!
I seriously have to stop myself from buying anymore though🤣😊😊
I love the brighter green vase!!
Right!??Can’t wait to style it for the holidays. Thanks for watching Caroline 😊🙏🏽

Ahhh gotcha! Thanks for sharing that tip, I’ve had it in storage ever since, may be the time to pull it out and get the right shade! 🤣😊💛

# 2 !!
stone antique water bottle at 10:50.
I had the green vase I got from my mother when she passed when I was getting it out for Christmas I broke it😢
Oh no!!! 😢 are you referring to the bigger or smaller one? Where are you located? I can send you either as a gift 🎁
@@DIYDecorDiary thank you for your thoughtfulness but I’m in Saskatchewan the shipping would be awful. Thank you
I’m near Chicago and our thrift prices are no where near the prices I’m seeing on this video.
I’m assuming you mean it’s high here, it’s been creeping up in the last few months. Just makes it so you have to hunt for a deal 🤷🏽♀️😂
I think the lamp needs a smaller shade.
Agreed 👍🏼😊
It’s ok you miss judged the size of the platter. Us women have been lied to our whole life on what’s 12 inches looks like. 😂
Hahahahaha🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
OMG you having me dyyyying 😂😂😂
🤣
Lol
Oh so True!!!!!🤣
Fireplace tools
The prices at your Goodwill are wayyyy too high!
