The way I ido farming when I'm starting, before I get into Sprinklers, is I setup an area that is upgrade-able, with a row of 10 conveyor belts set in the ground down the center, and 2 sets of T-Pipes above each conveyor to drip down on each side. Once I get access to Sprinklers, I then have 2 sprinklers each covering a 5x5 area with the conveyors in the center, and use a Magnet either way to put the veggies on the Conveyor, sending them up through the choppers and into the sorters. A Full Packet of Seeds is 10, so it was easy enough for a start, then it turns into chaos once I get Sprinklers and try to cram as many plots into each square as I can. I've ended up surrounding the 10x5 area with Half Walls so I can more easily manage with the magnet.
yeah we were doing the same when we were testing how much we could cover with a sprinkler fun times when there are new things.
You can get seeds out of the diced veggies and they behave much better being ran into the seed mill. Might be worth the experiment as it would cut out another step of manual labor.
yeah i know i tried it.. im more keeping 2 seperate piles just incase really sort of like having a spare storage for eadh veg.... im a bit of a hoarder
@@Hybridsteel Speaking of trying things out... any clue if pickaxe works to split piles of cut veg? Still haven't gotten around to toying with this patch. I tend to chill on these bigger updates until Max hotfixes the glaring issues away.

Water pressure does affect the sprinkler range, with max pressure I can water 8 plants out from the center when they are tightly packed. 5 plants if I use my window technique which is less plants but looks so much better IMO.

I've found a seed mill works best with a funnel dropping stuff onto it with an empty space between the funnel & mill... Broccoli still gives trouble because of the size.
I would think with the range of the magnets, you should be able to do 2 rows in each setup with the pushing magnet able to push them into the range of the pulling one.
i acctually started doing it during a live stream there is 2 rows to do the veg now
Seeding the tomato's won't work even if you put a funnel above the seeder as if you were dropping into the basket?
I think I'll stay with my big field of two circles of planting space and too many planting spots to count
You probably figured this out but you can put chopped vegies into the grinder and get seeds. That way you can do all the vegies and nothing gets stuck as it's all the same size.

@@Hybridsteel Another thing I just found is you can bump the basket full of vegies into the grinder and it will shred them. So you don't have to dump them in. basically get the two object to collide and then it works.
Disable motion blur in your settings mate at 30fps on RUclips it's hard to watch with motion blur enabled
i have turned motion blur off iv had it off for about 2 years now

You can walk so close to the magnets strong enough to pull tomatoes? 😁 And the sickle is not affected. Guess it is made out of aluminium ;)

I have planted all my plant over the conveyour belt, adding 2 shovels of dirt, this way i just cut them and replant.
iv seen a few variations now its good to see people trying new things
Nice way to automate. Water goes through blocks and windows so one could just put pipes in blocks and add dirt and plants then water from underneath. ( i use windows to make real nice straight rows of plants.)
iv expanded this a little and sorted out my cooking area as well video coming soon.

Could the funnel shoot work for veggies too? Could put one down and have the seed grinder a level lower
its a good call if i wasnt already sort of setup
why not just have the whole tomato's drop into the seed machine with a funnel on it
not everything needs a funnel

Is there a mod or something to hit F6 or F7 and wind up with a list of things to add? I ask because I've tried hitting those buttons, and I get nothing. Cheers mate, awesome automating! I'm in creative mode of course.

all video creators are using shortcuts.,. most are using creative hourglass is the only thing im using to speed things up

yes it a mod its called the extended logic mod. but u dont need it u can just use magnets to pull crops to one side.. i use the mod just to make sure it works
where do you sell soups to get tokens?
u sell soups to customers all over the lands. so people with speech bubbls over their heads.. can be seen with the map u get a tthe start they are little green exclimation marks
@@Hybridsteel worked it out thanks. last question maybye you can help. i have request from person 7 tomatos 5 carrots, tried to put all that in pot carrots wouldnt go. tried to do seperate soups same person doesnt want it. how to fulfill requesT?
so best way to do it is.
cold water then leave pot to 1 side.
u need when it says 7 tomatos it means 7lbs of tomatos
then add both vegies to pot so 1 portion of say tomatos and 1 portion of whatever u need.
then add both sets of veg to cold water then put pot onto heat untill cooked
Does the sprinkler water in a cylinder or spherical radius? Asking cause i was wondering if i can put it up high (high enough for the hydro cropper to fit under) and if it will still water all the crops down below.
yes you can place them high enough to drive under with the harvester

No radius drop you can also drive over them at ground level
How do get repel magnets?
they are mods i think they come under the extended electrics mod or they have their own mod for just magnets.
It's sad to hear that I can't mine t3 dirt yet, I have a setup In t3 dirt so great.
when t3 becomes a thing think its going to annoy people as the pipe inputs will change and we dont know what their planning

good way to do things... automation is just one of those things. it can be done so i did it.. me personally im not really into the farming sode of the game but i just had to finish it
