  • Your choices, your actions, that’s what makes you who you are. #Superman - Only In Theaters and @Imax July 11
    “Superman,” DC Studios’ first feature film to hit the big screen, is set to soar into theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures. In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.
    DC Studios heads Peter Safran and Gunn are producing the film, which Gunn directs from his own screenplay, based on characters from DC, Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
    The film stars David Corenswet (“Twisters,” “Hollywood”) in the dual role of Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult (the “X-Men” movies, “Juror #2”) as Lex Luthor. The film also stars Edi Gathegi (“For All Mankind”), Anthony Carrigan (“Barry,” “Gotham”), Nathan Fillion (the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, “The Suicide Squad”), Isabela Merced (“Alien Romulus”), Skyler Gisondo (“Licorice Pizza,” “Booksmart”), Sara Sampaio (“At Midnight”), María Gabriela de Faría (“The Moodys”), Wendell Pierce (“Selma,” “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan”), Alan Tudyk (“Andor”), Pruitt Taylor Vince (“Bird Box”) and Neva Howell (“Greedy People”).
    “Superman” is executive produced by Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo and Lars Winther. Behind the camera, Gunn is joined by frequent collaborators, including director of photography Henry Braham, production designer Beth Mickle, costume designer Judianna Makovsky and composer John Murphy, along with composer David Fleming (“The Last of Us”) and editors William Hoy (“The Batman”) and Craig Alpert (“Deadpool 2,” “Blue Beetle”).
    DC Studios Presents a Troll Court Entertainment/The Safran Company Production, A James Gunn Film, “Superman,” which will be in theaters and IMAX® nationwide on July 11, 2025, and internationally beginning 9 July 2025, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

    In case I never get the opportunity to speak to this many people again, I need to say this:
    Please be kind to each other, it’s really not that hard. Go out into the world and do good. Even the little things you can do for people can go a long way. Look, if you’re here right now it’s probably because you’re like me and have a love for this amazing character. A character that teaches us how to do good, show kindness, and spread love. I’m not saying we all need to go out and stop a missile with our bare hands…. But do what you are able to do in order to make this world a better place to live for all of us. If we are all going to live together, we need to learn how to love together.
    So, don’t spread hatred to one another. If someone says something you don’t agree with, have a discussion about it respectfully.
    I know it can be hard to live life like this when people refuse to reason with each other, talk to each other, or even just show kindness to each other…. But everyone has their own heavy load to lift…
    And sometimes things are even too heavy for superman to lift. But he never gives up or fails to do what’s right.
    You can call me a cornball, dislike my comment, or do whatever you want… I just thought I should say something of note since I’m one of the higher comments and may never get an opportunity to speak to this many people.
    Basically, you don’t have Superman’s powers to do good. Do what you can with the powers you have to help one another…
    And be someone’s Superman

      I think a lot of people, even those who really do genuinely like Superman, sometimes forget that Clark isn't above quipping every once in a while. Heck, one of my favorite examples is straight from the earliest 1930s comics:
      "You can't do this! It's impossible!"
      "Thanks for letting me know!"
      He may not do it as much as, say, Spider-Man, but it's nice to see them remembering that little bit of playfulness Clark sometimes shows when he's on the job.

      @AnonymousUsername3728 Month ago +5

      The sentence has several grammatical errors, which are outlined below in paragraph form:
      First, the sentence lacks proper capitalization at the beginning and for proper nouns. "The" should be capitalized as it begins the sentence, and "Ms. Lane" should be capitalized and punctuated correctly, since "Ms." is a title and "Lane" is a proper noun.
      Second, the sentence is missing punctuation. There is no period at the end, making the sentence incomplete. Additionally, quotation marks are used inconsistently-there is an opening quotation mark before "yea sure" but no corresponding closing quotation mark for the quoted phrases. Proper punctuation and closing quotation marks are necessary for clarity.
      Third, the sentence is missing context or structure that makes it a complete thought. It reads more like a fragment or a note than a full sentence. To be grammatically correct, it should be restructured to clearly indicate what is being observed or stated.
      Lastly, “yea” should be spelled “yeah” for standard usage, unless intentional informal speech is being quoted.
      A corrected version might be:
      **"The change in his voice from 'Yeah, sure' to 'Ms. Lane, love it! Haha.' was noticeable."**

    • @AnonymousUsername3728
      @AnonymousUsername3728 Month ago

      @@t1_hodgesThere are several grammar errors in your sentence. First, it is a sentence fragment-it sets up a comparison but doesn’t complete the thought. Second, “vs” is informal and should be replaced with “versus” or rephrased entirely in full sentences. Third, the structure lacks a main verb or conclusion, making it unclear. A corrected version could be: **"How you talk to your homies versus how you talk to your crush shows the difference in comfort."**

    For years, the media has gazed upward, chasing the ‘Super.’ But now, we’re invited closer, to see the ‘Man.’
    He's no longer just a force of nature, an unreacheable god in the clouds. He falters, he feels. He loves, he fears. He has a Ma, a Pa and a loyal dog at his side.
    He has a heart that breaks. A soul that hopes. And in that, he becomes more than myth. He becomes known.
    To make him carry the weight of the human experiences and tribulations does not make him weaker. It makes him real. And maybe, even stronger.

    People have issues with the interview, but I think it showed multiple points:
    - Lois' value of her journalistic integrity.

    - The contrast of their personalities and yet their closeness
    - Clark's priority as Superman over politics.

    The moment she said that she cleaned the boots I already know who made the costume. All is now forgiven. She just wanted her kid to have an outfit and he wore it regardless of how goofy it looked.

    • @AnonymousUsername3728
      @AnonymousUsername3728 Month ago +15

      There are several grammar errors in your sentence. First, there's a tense inconsistency-“she said” is in past tense, but “I already know” is in present tense. It should be “I already knew” to match. Second, “All is now forgiven” is awkwardly placed and could flow better with the surrounding sentences. Lastly, the sentence could benefit from clearer punctuation to improve readability. A corrected version might be: **"The moment she said she cleaned the boots, I already knew who made the costume. All was forgiven. She just wanted her kid to have an outfit, and he wore it-regardless of how goofy it looked."**

      The past Superman feels like detach. They pictured him as perfect and strong and powerful, leaving out his humanity side.
      Some people feel disconnected from Superman because he is too perfect or from another planet.
      If this becomes a major blockbuster, i would want to see on the sequel that his power is removed from him ( while trying to help or save another planet - and how he got his powers back ). I really want people to see how Superman struggles... if he still the hero that everyone thinks he is without his powers, so that people can relate to him in some way. I can't believe of all the grammar mistakes packed into one sentence. First, “a in Superman Returns” is clearly a typo and should be “as in *Superman Returns*.” Second, the sentence is clunky and confusing because of poor punctuation and word order-quotation marks are used, but the dialogue inside them isn’t punctuated properly. “Really? Never?” should each be treated as separate questions with the correct punctuation. Third, the sentence lacks flow-“His voice when he said ‘sure’ during the interview, sounds like…” is awkward and could be smoothed out by restructuring. A corrected version might be: **"I swear, his voice when he said 'sure' during the interview sounded just like Brandon Routh in *Superman Returns* when he said, 'Really? Never?'"**

    • @AnonymousUsername3728
      @AnonymousUsername3728 Month ago

      @@Billy-bc8pkWow, it’s almost impressive how many grammar slip-ups made it into such a short rant. First, “kin dof” is a clear typo and should be “kind of.” Second, “that was completely devoid” is incorrect-“devoid” is usually followed by *of* something (e.g., “devoid of kindness”), so it should be rephrased. Third, the second sentence is a fragment-“Loved Cavill, hated Snyder’s depiction of the character”-which is fine in casual speech, but not grammatically complete. For clarity and correctness, a revised version might be: **"It was this kind of kindness that was completely missing from the Snyder films, which was so disappointing. I loved Cavill, but I hated Snyder’s depiction of the character."**

    "Your choices, your actions. That's what makes you who you are"
    That's such a dad's advice for their kid, and so in character for Mr. Kent to say to Clark.
    And David's spectacular acting skills and his wide range of expression really add depth and contrast to Superman and Clark Kent's personality in this movie.
    This might be the best Superman movie ever made, and I'm here as a witness of history being born.

      It's a fairly generic and uninspired quote, but sure, why not? As for the trailer itself, it didn't exactly assuage my fears about this movie. It seems to confirm that it's going to be a jumbled mess, just as the leaks warned, but we'll see. I can't even gauge what the tone and premise of this film is supposed to be exactly. Anyway, only two more months remain until we can finally judge it for ourselves, so that's a relief.

    That's who Superman is supposed to be; he doesn't represent one single country, he is the world's shield and protector. So if he sees a war, he'd be the one to end it just because it's the right thing to do. I like that this version is still young and naive, because as Superman ages, he learns he has to pick his fights wisely; he won't always be able to stop any war he wants, especially if he doesn't want to be seen as a tyrant.
    Edit: The concept of Superman that I've always understood is that he isn't governed by anyone, no one owns him, he's good for the sake of being good. I think I'll like this version. I believe the actor is supposed to have a ten-year run like RDJ, so I want to give this film a shot.

      The young and naive part, that explains it well.
      At first I was confused why Superman would interfere with conflicts that do not concern him, especially since he respects personal liberties, but it makes sense if he starts off as a young and rash hero who gradually grows into the character everyone knows.
