- Your choices, your actions, that’s what makes you who you are. #Superman - Only In Theaters and @Imax July 11
“Superman,” DC Studios’ first feature film to hit the big screen, is set to soar into theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures. In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.
DC Studios heads Peter Safran and Gunn are producing the film, which Gunn directs from his own screenplay, based on characters from DC, Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
The film stars David Corenswet (“Twisters,” “Hollywood”) in the dual role of Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult (the “X-Men” movies, “Juror #2”) as Lex Luthor. The film also stars Edi Gathegi (“For All Mankind”), Anthony Carrigan (“Barry,” “Gotham”), Nathan Fillion (the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, “The Suicide Squad”), Isabela Merced (“Alien Romulus”), Skyler Gisondo (“Licorice Pizza,” “Booksmart”), Sara Sampaio (“At Midnight”), María Gabriela de Faría (“The Moodys”), Wendell Pierce (“Selma,” “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan”), Alan Tudyk (“Andor”), Pruitt Taylor Vince (“Bird Box”) and Neva Howell (“Greedy People”).
“Superman” is executive produced by Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo and Lars Winther. Behind the camera, Gunn is joined by frequent collaborators, including director of photography Henry Braham, production designer Beth Mickle, costume designer Judianna Makovsky and composer John Murphy, along with composer David Fleming (“The Last of Us”) and editors William Hoy (“The Batman”) and Craig Alpert (“Deadpool 2,” “Blue Beetle”).
DC Studios Presents a Troll Court Entertainment/The Safran Company Production, A James Gunn Film, “Superman,” which will be in theaters and IMAX® nationwide on July 11, 2025, and internationally beginning 9 July 2025, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Stopping wars and killings in the world regardless of politics and with no interest other than "doing good" is such a Superman thing to do. I'm glad they chose to explore that side of his character.
In the comics he actually ended up renouncing his U.S. citizenship to avoid this sort of thing so I wonder if he’ll do that in this movie

Yeah, I felt that hard. "But it's more complicated than that!" No, it really isn't. Stopping a war and preventing innocent people from dying is never the wrong thing.
Whether he's truly a "good person" is debatable. As an alien raised with human values, his definition of "good" is filtered through that lens. While he undeniably saves lives, government scrutiny arises from the collateral damage they believe could be minimized with more strategic planning.

When that dude helps Superman out of the hole, man, this gets me. That dude could be hurt or killed, but he tries to help Superman because he is inspired. THAT is why Superman matters, THAT is why Superman is great. He inspires.
In this age, it's funny how the classic rendition of the Superman, filled with hope, standing by his morals before anything else feels like something "new". It's exactly what we need in this cynical age. Hope and good will will never go out of fashion.
It's very inspiring. We all want to believe there's someone out there like Superman. That wide-eyed, childlike hope that someone is trying their best to protect people simply because it's the right thing to do.
Exactly that's why He is called Symbol of Hope. Everyone are already tired of hero acting like Villian. We need real hero like Superman
Not sure I like the abreviated/partial S on his chest?
Its not cynism its realism. Life sucks. The wealth gap is larger than ever before. Living is misery
hope will always be NEW; as it is something so rare
- I stopped a war

That's the confidence of the Man of Steel
Agree
Exactlyy, this trailer is making me so hyped for Superman!
Superman with self-doubt isn't something I have in my head cannon. I'd rather he be like omni-man with morals.
Sounds like a Superman with a giant ego to me. You’d think a journalist could see the nuance in his actions. No one is all good and no one is above critique, and his disallowance of that questioning has me raise an eye brow. Though, I am getting the vibe that that’s the arc he’ll have to go through
@@Artkenny284Zach Snyder tried the realistic take on Superman and was hated for it until years later when people realized it was a masterpiece.
In case I never get the opportunity to speak to this many people again, I need to say this:
Please be kind to each other, it’s really not that hard. Go out into the world and do good. Even the little things you can do for people can go a long way. Look, if you’re here right now it’s probably because you’re like me and have a love for this amazing character. A character that teaches us how to do good, show kindness, and spread love. I’m not saying we all need to go out and stop a missile with our bare hands…. But do what you are able to do in order to make this world a better place to live for all of us. If we are all going to live together, we need to learn how to love together.
So, don’t spread hatred to one another. If someone says something you don’t agree with, have a discussion about it respectfully.
I know it can be hard to live life like this when people refuse to reason with each other, talk to each other, or even just show kindness to each other…. But everyone has their own heavy load to lift…
And sometimes things are even too heavy for superman to lift. But he never gives up or fails to do what’s right.
You can call me a cornball, dislike my comment, or do whatever you want… I just thought I should say something of note since I’m one of the higher comments and may never get an opportunity to speak to this many people.
Basically, you don’t have Superman’s powers to do good. Do what you can with the powers you have to help one another…
And be someone’s Superman
Finally Superman being reclaimed from right wing grifters.

Super Up.
Unfortunately people forget this and pass superman off as being old and basic.
But the people that know, realise how great superman is.
I think Christopher Reeve would be proud of this one. We need a Superman that brings handsomeness, niceness, and cordiality back in style.
You saying other supermen aren't handsome? Have you seen Henry Cavill?
@@aaronjamespeedrunsI was looking for the 3 part combo. 😂
@@CompassHealing nothing wrong with recognising a handsome man.

As a 40+ year old fan of Superman, the “Hey budddy, eyes up here” makes me happier than anything else in the trailer. I can’t describe it, but that’s Superman to me.
Agreed, that is 100% Superman
I think a lot of people, even those who really do genuinely like Superman, sometimes forget that Clark isn't above quipping every once in a while. Heck, one of my favorite examples is straight from the earliest 1930s comics:
"You can't do this! It's impossible!"
"Thanks for letting me know!"
He may not do it as much as, say, Spider-Man, but it's nice to see them remembering that little bit of playfulness Clark sometimes shows when he's on the job.

Chills. Literal chills.
I know right
the change in his voice from ¨yea sure¨ to ¨ms lane¨ love it haha
🥰😍💗
When you talk to your homies vs when you talk to your crush
same.
The sentence has several grammatical errors, which are outlined below in paragraph form:
First, the sentence lacks proper capitalization at the beginning and for proper nouns. "The" should be capitalized as it begins the sentence, and "Ms. Lane" should be capitalized and punctuated correctly, since "Ms." is a title and "Lane" is a proper noun.
Second, the sentence is missing punctuation. There is no period at the end, making the sentence incomplete. Additionally, quotation marks are used inconsistently-there is an opening quotation mark before "yea sure" but no corresponding closing quotation mark for the quoted phrases. Proper punctuation and closing quotation marks are necessary for clarity.
Third, the sentence is missing context or structure that makes it a complete thought. It reads more like a fragment or a note than a full sentence. To be grammatically correct, it should be restructured to clearly indicate what is being observed or stated.
Lastly, “yea” should be spelled “yeah” for standard usage, unless intentional informal speech is being quoted.
A corrected version might be:
**"The change in his voice from 'Yeah, sure' to 'Ms. Lane, love it! Haha.' was noticeable."**
@@t1_hodgesThere are several grammar errors in your sentence. First, it is a sentence fragment-it sets up a comparison but doesn’t complete the thought. Second, “vs” is informal and should be replaced with “versus” or rephrased entirely in full sentences. Third, the structure lacks a main verb or conclusion, making it unclear. A corrected version could be: **"How you talk to your homies versus how you talk to your crush shows the difference in comfort."**

Superman getting so emotional about being questioned for saving people is so well done. This is the Superman i’ve been waiting for.
And one of the reasons he is getting so emotional isn't just because of the topic, but because it's Lois. The one person who can get past any and all defenses he has. Yes, he knows she's acting in the role of a reporter, but it still hurts a little to have her ask those specific questions.

I absolutely love this take. He's just a guy with a good heart and unimaginable power. He's angry that saving lives is seen as a problem.
That seems like a good character arc for a young superman to face, as older Superman seems cool with the idea of people not accepting him or his actions, so seeing him learning to accept that should be very satisfying
Without having to stand in front of a tornado ✋🌪️
Just like in Batman V Superman.
That isn't really Superman though. Superman is more like MCU's Captain America who teaches by example, not angrily demanding that people agree with him.
That's not a take, that's Superman
Superman is just one of those eternally iconic mythological figures, and I think this is the film that will cement his legacy as a character who can stand the test of time. Gunn really gets Superman, and I think all the right cues are taken here.

For years, the media has gazed upward, chasing the ‘Super.’ But now, we’re invited closer, to see the ‘Man.’
He's no longer just a force of nature, an unreacheable god in the clouds. He falters, he feels. He loves, he fears. He has a Ma, a Pa and a loyal dog at his side.
He has a heart that breaks. A soul that hopes. And in that, he becomes more than myth. He becomes known.
To make him carry the weight of the human experiences and tribulations does not make him weaker. It makes him real. And maybe, even stronger.
Very well written!!

Anyone else catch the subtle voice change when Clark answered Lois as “Superman”?
Wasn't even subtle actually
Straight from the School of Reeve.
That was good!
yep.
Tell me you haven’t read a comic without telling me
People have issues with the interview, but I think it showed multiple points:
- Lois' value of her journalistic integrity.
- Clark's pure-yet-slightly ignorant view of what he does
- The contrast of their personalities and yet their closeness
- Clark's priority as Superman over politics.
Lois' switch from girlfriend to award winning journalist matched Clark's switch to Superman.
Finally, a Lois who is not drooling over Superman, and asking the hard questions.
People have issues with it? Huh.... oh boy. The low IQ's are probably all up in arms about it.
@@mrb2349to be fair, she's definitely still drooling. She can just turn it off when needed.

The moment she said that she cleaned the boots I already know who made the costume. All is now forgiven. She just wanted her kid to have an outfit and he wore it regardless of how goofy it looked.
There are several grammar errors in your sentence. First, there's a tense inconsistency-“she said” is in past tense, but “I already know” is in present tense. It should be “I already knew” to match. Second, “All is now forgiven” is awkwardly placed and could flow better with the surrounding sentences. Lastly, the sentence could benefit from clearer punctuation to improve readability. A corrected version might be: **"The moment she said she cleaned the boots, I already knew who made the costume. All was forgiven. She just wanted her kid to have an outfit, and he wore it-regardless of how goofy it looked."**

I hope Mr. Gunn delivers a film that even Mr. Reeve would be proud of. This film character deserves the highest respect.
I'm LOVING that we are getting a Superman with actual emotions. It sounds bare minimum, but he is usually portrayed very stoic. The interview scene alone of him defending his actions made him more human than anything I've seen in a long time.
Yes its so skibidi
yeah, i love it. Gunn is showing the side of Superman with actual emotions. He grew up on earth. Superman has a personality.
The past Superman feels like detach. They pictured him as perfect and strong and powerful, leaving out his humanity side.
Some people feel disconnected from Superman because he is too perfect or from another planet.
If this becomes a major blockbuster, i would want to see on the sequel that his power is removed from him ( while trying to help or save another planet - and how he got his powers back ). I really want people to see how Superman struggles... if he still the hero that everyone thinks he is without his powers, so that people can relate to him in some way. They start adding other DC characters slowly.
@SquakGoat lol
That’s a very good point you made. I never realized Superman was always portrayed as more stoic. I always though with Henry cavil, they just didn’t give him enough lines. He was great but I felt like he barely spoke and felt hollow mostly. We saw him cry and scream but it never really happy.

I love how every single trailer we have gotten more and more of the classic John Williams theme, now in this final trailer we have the full theme and it makes me so happy that James Gunn really respects any franchise he works on. Bravo Gunn
It's going to be the main theme, we all know it. I hope Gunn started the film with the Girl reading the comic book again too!
♥️
The John Williams music defines the first generation of Superman movies. Christopher Reeves believed in the character and cherished what the Superman mythos stood for. So far it looks like James Gunn also loves the character.
I respect it even more realizing Christopher Reeves own son is that News Guy at 2:26
They can give us the exact same John Williams music from the Reeves movies. This is not Superman. This is some Disney Marvel trash. Superman is not like this anymore and has not been since before the 1985 reboot which it needed to save the dying comic because no one was reading it nor had been for over a decade. Boy-Scout Superman is trash.

It was this kin dof kindness that was completely devoid in the Snyder films, which was so disappointing. Loved Cavill, hated Snyder's depiction of the character.
I can't believe of all the grammar mistakes packed into one sentence. First, “a in Superman Returns” is clearly a typo and should be “as in *Superman Returns*.” Second, the sentence is clunky and confusing because of poor punctuation and word order-quotation marks are used, but the dialogue inside them isn’t punctuated properly. “Really? Never?” should each be treated as separate questions with the correct punctuation. Third, the sentence lacks flow-“His voice when he said ‘sure’ during the interview, sounds like…” is awkward and could be smoothed out by restructuring. A corrected version might be: **"I swear, his voice when he said 'sure' during the interview sounded just like Brandon Routh in *Superman Returns* when he said, 'Really? Never?'"**
@@Billy-bc8pkWow, it’s almost impressive how many grammar slip-ups made it into such a short rant. First, “kin dof” is a clear typo and should be “kind of.” Second, “that was completely devoid” is incorrect-“devoid” is usually followed by *of* something (e.g., “devoid of kindness”), so it should be rephrased. Third, the second sentence is a fragment-“Loved Cavill, hated Snyder’s depiction of the character”-which is fine in casual speech, but not grammatically complete. For clarity and correctness, a revised version might be: **"It was this kind of kindness that was completely missing from the Snyder films, which was so disappointing. I loved Cavill, but I hated Snyder’s depiction of the character."**
FINALLY superman with an actual personality
I'm glad they still use that OG musical theme...it will forever be the Superman song.
The fact that they use it is a good indication that this movie has no new ideas, is only interested in appealing to 60-year-olds, and is going to be forgotten as soon as it leaves theaters.

“You are who you choose to be”-iron giant
"it's not how you are underneath, but what you DO that is important." Yeah...SO original.
It's a fairly generic and uninspired quote, but sure, why not? As for the trailer itself, it didn't exactly assuage my fears about this movie. It seems to confirm that it's going to be a jumbled mess, just as the leaks warned, but we'll see. I can't even gauge what the tone and premise of this film is supposed to be exactly. Anyway, only two more months remain until we can finally judge it for ourselves, so that's a relief.
what people often forget is that superman is basically a good Samaritan boy scout with super powers. i had doubts as they first told there will be another sups movie. but honestly, now this trailer made we want to watch it for it seems James Gunn finally explores more on that character aspect of sups.

i love how he said hey buddy its superman time. and he supermanned all over the sky

That's who Superman is supposed to be; he doesn't represent one single country, he is the world's shield and protector. So if he sees a war, he'd be the one to end it just because it's the right thing to do. I like that this version is still young and naive, because as Superman ages, he learns he has to pick his fights wisely; he won't always be able to stop any war he wants, especially if he doesn't want to be seen as a tyrant.
Edit: The concept of Superman that I've always understood is that he isn't governed by anyone, no one owns him, he's good for the sake of being good. I think I'll like this version. I believe the actor is supposed to have a ten-year run like RDJ, so I want to give this film a shot.
except..he is batman's best friend and batman is the greatest detective and gotham is riddled in crime still. make it make sense.
The young and naive part, that explains it well.
At first I was confused why Superman would interfere with conflicts that do not concern him, especially since he respects personal liberties, but it makes sense if he starts off as a young and rash hero who gradually grows into the character everyone knows.
