Many of these actors were already in their "later" years when they filmed these and as over a decade has now passed, many will pass on. Yet isn't it wonderful their on screen presence is forever immortalised and the feelings and impact they gave when you watched the films, still as powerful today.

I love how this theme was used for Dumbledore AND Snape. It describes them perfectly. Two lonely, damaged and morally complicated men who lived a life full of regrets and never experienced any kind of healthy relationship.They were very similar.

And yet, we cannot forget that Dumbledore was viewed by all as the best person until Rita Skeeter exposing him. He sure had a hard life, but we cannot forget he DID do some very evil things with Grindelwald. Snape on the other hand, was considered by all as a traitor, the only person who knew his good side was Dumbledore, (and later Harry) and he was not even given a proper farewell. I am not hating on Dumbledore, I am just telling how the public viewed them despite them leading almost similiar lives.

Snape loved Lily
One of the best characters ever. Different shades of grey. Not a likable person but his heart was always in the right place, seriously damaged and miserable from the grief and love for a woman he could never have.
Did anyone else notice that the each movie got progressively less colorful as they went on?
I think this was done on purpose, to convey the ever-growing seriousness and actuality that Voldemort could kill them all.
It became less of, "Oh, we're kids, and magic is cool!" and more "oh crap there is an extremely powerful wizard out there who wants to kill us"
and I think it was a really subtle but really smart move.

Remember how grimy the Harry Potter logo from the opening sequences got by the end of the films? Genius. This series got so dark in a perfect transition in my opinion.

usually what I noticed is that when Luna and the other really innocent and younger characters are on screen, it seems more colorful and bright. even their clothing seems more saturated then the older students. this is what I personally noticed until the last movie, where everyone looked hopeless and dull and colorless until after Voldemort died. and then still afterwards some of the older ones look a little less saturated. like the sadness of all those years was stuck inside them.
also side note. poor first years in the last movie. they had no freaking idea it was gonna be this way. like... "oh hey finally we're at wizarding school! but why is there a war and everyone is dieing and shiz? We dont know any magic!"

Man growing up and being surprised during every movie is an experience I will never forget
Dumbledore did had a happy life but he had some reasons of unhappiness:
1. To fight Gellert Grindelwald! (best friend)
2. Corpse of Ariana Dumbledore! (his sister)
3. His father in Azkaban!
4. To be guilty as; Dumbledore making his army to attack the MINISTRY!
5. He was nearly removed for being hogwarts headmaster; but was not!
6. Hiding secrets that he had a brother and a sister! (Aberforth and Ariana Dumbledore)
For the 5) it’s good thing ! He is staying at Hogwarts
