I loved watching this Tyrone team. They played great football. Really tough hard fighting defence with some ridiculously talented forwards. Some of the best players I've ever seen play the game.
Well said! as a Neutral and a hurling follower these games between Kerry & Tyrone were probably the best advert for Gaelic Games in their History.. skill, passion and commitment, from the two greatest footballing counties in Ireland..
as a kerryman i have to say that was probably the best all ireland final played. Suberb play by both teams throughout the game, well done to tyrone though ..
Canavan used to do my head in actually. Great footballer but terribly dishonest man . As bad as any soccer player when it came to diving and feigning injury.
A memorable era for Tyrone football - to finally realise their potential on the big stage. I was at Croke in 84 SF v the Dubs, 86 F vs Kerry, all the way through the 90's vs Meath and the Dubs again when we were very close - some great teams and players but just couldn't get it done on the day. All credit to Mickey Harte for pulling the county together in the 2000's, but we should also remember Art McRory in management, as well as very special players such as Frank McGuigan, Eugene McKenna and Plunkett Donaghy for their efforts over the years. Great servants to the GAA in Tyrone. Tir Eoghain Abu.
Nicely put. It's not too often I hear a Kerryman admitting they were outplayed in a game. And this was a cracking final. A perfect advert for what gaelic games are all about
I might be biased as a Tyrone fan but these were some of the best years of football I've ever seen. The best Tyrone team of all time, the best Armagh team of all time, one of the best Kerry teams of all time. Dublin weren't at the top level but they were still a strong side, Galway were tough, Kildare had a decent team. There was a real competitiveness and quality during this period of time.
Marvelous game. Best I've ever seen in person. If anyone remembers the Gooch getting injured - he was hit with an open fist by the Tyrone goalkeeper. The ball was in the other end of the field, for some reason Cooper was hanging around the tyrone 6 yard box. Tyrone fullback stepped in front of the Gooch to block the view from the ref, and then the goalkeeper stepped behind him and hit him with an open hand. One of his fingers went into the Gooch's eye. I was in the stands directly behind the goal and was watching it all clearly. The umpires had seen everything but denied any knowledge when questioned by the referee.
@@pmck3438 I was supporting Tyrone. Just clearing up an incident that was a big talking point at the time and the cameras missed. I wrote a neutral description of what happened. If you see that as partisan then that's your problem.

What a great game played by two fantastic teams. Legends on both sides. Respect. An mhi abu!
Canavan and Mulligan were a joy to watch back in the 00s

Those were the days boys. So many great memories standing there in hill 16 , it was a privilege to watch that great Tyrone team play.
It's a privilege to watch them in 2022 on RUclips.

That tyrone team of the 00s was one of the great teams and this was one of the great finals
yes it was
Your quite right on both counts
Brings a tear to my eye , back in the good old days .

One of the best games of football I ever seen
As a Tyrone fan I was very happy about this even though I was born 4 yrs after this
This is the best AI final ever played. Pure class from both teams.
Good game but Dublin Mayo 17 was better
Up the red hand County 🔴⚪️❤️
Superb game. Present Tyrone team a pale shadow of this outfit. Likewise with Kerry I'm afraid.
What great shooters, both sides, that tyrone team were immense, could play it anyway
great tyrone won sam maguire in 2005 and defeating armagh en route on 4th september 2005 (double blessing)
Now thats what you call Gaelic football!
MON TYRONE!
great Tyrone that played in 2005 sam maguire final
What a pluck by Mulligan at the end of the first half!

Bit late for crying about it. Plenty of dirty play from Kerry.

@@pmck3438 like the throat pinch by Mulligan on O Sullivan?! 🤣
Tyrone 05 the greatest team
I'm A Dub BUT I always have respect and admiration for Kerry. In fact, no team is a great All Ireland team until they beat Kerry.
And they were beaten fair and square that day despite their great start. Superb Tyrone team
kerry or dublin always need to be beaten en route for any all ireland winner
2005 final was great final though a poor 1st half display from Tyrone but I liked this final it was pleasing to watch
A proper final, not like the shoite we witnessed this year.
Oh no they are everywhere
I love co.tyorne
see the vicious hair pulling at 7:58 in the crowd. Gas
😂 Brilliant spot
Kerry were dirty
A Clare man making a comment about football, leave the football to the big boys.
Colm Cooper the best player in Ireland by a country mile
terence doonan he didn’t do much that day, he was out classed!!!
