I was really glad when they re-released this but I was even more glad to find out it actually holds up really well and is still as fun as it was back in the day.
I love this game. It's not a racing game like you would expect because its all based on split second reflexes. If you are doing well, you should never see the other racers. Your opponent is the tracks themselves
Love your reviews ^^ Btw, there is a sequel called SW racer revenge on the ps2 but it's not as awesome as this one unfortunetly but I think it's worth the playing :) And there is another racing on the aracade I think called SW racer arcade but I know almost nothing about it
@@joethealternativegamer3935 There's also a pod racing section (with several tracks I think) to the Star Wars Kinect game on the Xbox 360. I've never played it but the graphics look nice - shame it's a Kinect game though, as the controls could be tricky. Would have liked the option to use a normal controller.
@@joethealternativegamer3935 The game was fun, there's a new mechanic where you can destroy the other pod-racers similar to F-Zero and the game rewards you for it by giving you extra cash and taking out the racer for the rest of the track, but I comes at the disadvantage that if you blow up, you lose. The game also has less races and racers compared to the original but the races feels much more unique. Overall it's a good racing game but I much preferred the original. It available on the PS-Store if you want to try it.
I circumvented the penalty of crashing and the repair system by maxing out acceleration on bullseye. He can go from zero to like 800 instantly and he is so fragile with an insane respawn time. It becomes more time viable to just slam into a wall if you survive taking heavy damage instead of repairing. Neva kee can do it also and was the testbed for this build, but he is big and his overall stats are good, but bullseye is better and his fragility can work to his advantage whereas neva kee is sturdy and wide enough that he can bonk into terrain and get hung up instead of just instantly exploding and respawning
If the game's too easy, try beating it without upgrades. Done that on the N64 (...emulator) a few weeks ago and it really requires you to push your skills, no matter which racer you pick. (moreso because that particular version comes with massive input lag)
I don't get why a new pod-racing game hasn't take off. It was the best thing about the Prequel Trilogy. The possibility of endless micro-transactions and related merchandising should be absolutely mouth-watering to any real capitalist. 🤑

I played it the arcade one, my tiny brain couldn't handle the twin engine controls
Also, a sequel WAS made, for the PS2.
...There's a good reason you've never heard of it.
You re-use a lot of the same talking points over in over in your script. Very repetative. Thanks for doing the research though, overall fun video
Lol at least you know what my points are! Thank you for watching and for the feedback :)
Can we get a remake+ please 😭
Ive come back to this game for over 20 years, you cant beat it!
It’s so much fun!
The game did get a sequel with Star Wars Racer Revenge on the Playstation
I have heard it is underrated, I must play it! Did you like it?

Damn, the TimeSplitters music!
it was one of my fav games on ps1 back in the day, it felt soo fast when I was a kid))

If done well, a new one would be great!
Joe ...Indeed.
@@BigGator5 I’d love to see a track editor for it!
And you know, it would be a great VR game too.
@@BigGator5 that’s an awesome idea!
