Toshiro Mayuzumi: Symphonic Mood (1950) / Takuo Yuasa & New Zealand Symphony Orchestra

The 2nd part of "Symphonic Mood" was based on the second movement of the 1947 piano piece "Hors-d'œuvre":

In 1948, or two years before "Symphonic Mood," based on the same material, Mayuzumi composed the orchestral piece "Rumba Rhapsody":

However, "Rumba Rhapsody" did not get a chance to be performed, so he used the same material in a new work "Symphonic Mood" and it became his debut orchestral work.
Compared to "Rumba Rhapsody," which was an almost faithful orchestral arrangement of the original piano piece, the second part of "Symphonic Moods," which used the same material, gives the impression that the melody has almost disappeared and instead on the rhythm and bass line is emphasized.
In 1998, "Hors-d'œuvre" itself was arranged for wind orchestra by Jun Nagao:
