The first time I ran a Vanquisher in my list, it got 16 damage through on a Stormtalon Gunship turn 1....it's earned it's spot in my list!!! The main cannon rolled 12 damage and the Lascannon went through also.
Id definitely bring a Vanquisher for supplemental firepower to my armored corp, but never the main event. I think it being there along with my Rogal Dorn and Leman Russ Demolisher would be great. A single shot that can be saved isnt something I want to rely on. I think overall its great, especially at its current points cost.
I wish these were better, but that d6+6 damage is a bit of a distraction carnifex. My last game was a tournament where I faced Knights and put this way off on a flank. He had to send a knight off away from my forces to hunt it down. It helped that it did manage to damage him first turn, though wiffed the rest of the game.
With the Vanquisher being in the mid to back fireld and that it also struggles with infantry I run the sponsons with plasma cannons. Also, if it's my primary Russ in the list I bring three to increase the chances of getting hits through.

Ive printed 12 Sherman-Russ, 2xTC, 3xErad, 2xExt, 2x BC 3x Vanq. Took em a session yesterday, using new rules. My 3rd ever full 2k game, first time with armoured vehicles, [I normally just run Krieg) They went into a list of Azrael and almost all deathwing terminators with 2 dreadnoughts and an experienced player. It was all over turn 4. Id scored 67, him 30. He had 5 models left, I had 9 tanks holding 4 of 5 objectives, including his home. I lost the 3 eradicators, which was their job to move block and shoot till tank shock chance or melee. I think dropping 1 tank and taking 2 scouts for the re-roll 1s might be a nasty list. Or getting solar+command in somehow for 3 extra orders.
Idk I’ll say this it really hurt when they stripped away the ignore Inv. Saves, it’s the only Girl in my armory that can implode an enemy Tank/monster. You give it orders she’s Old Reliable I’ll always have one in my lists
I love the vanquisher enough to own two of them, but having every shot saved by invulns does get tiring. Hit and wounded Angron in one game SIX times, two spiked overwatches included, and he saved or rerolled the save every time
GW needs to fix this shit. Proposal Bs 3, 3 attacks, strength 15, ap 4, damage d6+3. Heavy invulnerable saves cannot be made for this weapon. Or alternatively Bs 2, 1 attack, strength 15, ap 4, damage d6+6. Heavy anti vehicle 2+ anti monster 2+. Devastating wounds
Take Aim + Heavy + Daring Recon means you almost never miss, and the new Lethal Hits against vehicles makes the Vanq a lot sweeter IMO

I just finished my Vanquisher. I swapped the extended barrel for the Dorns long barrel.
Put enough vanquisher in line and fire your bound to hit something. Frist rank fire

It would be nice if they game it dev wounds on a 6 to wound just to sorta bypass that invulnerable save.
I'm running three to scare the enemy. Killing OC units tho is the real name of the game
