  • Another issue, this one features H.P. Lovecraft, Seabury Quinn, and Clark Ashton Smith, among others as well as a reprint of a story by Edgar Allan Poe. It also contains the second installment of "Draconda", a space adventure romance that is the longest serial published by the magazine so far.

This format was where sci-fi came from :)
... it's what we should be doing instead of all the scrolling and video search engines.

Hook of Death...Saltmarsh, maybe. I was thinking Scooby Doo or the Hardy Boys!

A good mix overall. I have to agree with the Cobra Lily choice to give the natives much more depth and agency. This is pretty rare t that time, and often, when it does appear, comes packed with all sorts of other troublesome tropes.

Very true. It also shows that the idea we have of what pulp fiction was like at the time is not always accurate.
Reading these old magazines has made me discover so many good stories that seem to be forgotten otherwise.
