Talk about transforming leftover glass into something great. I was glad to hear you wouldn’t cold work it. It turned out so well.

I agree. The Fuschia didn't work as well but the blue is nice.

Hi Susan. I agree. Transparent glasses in bowls, platter and the like usually throw a great show if lit from the top.

Amazing that you could even think about turning a mistake into something beautiful!

Always. Glass isn't cheap and sometimes they make the best pieces. They make you think hard about how to reuse and create something interesting.

As usual Jeff, that is beautiful! I really love the colors and the almost 3D effect with the remnants of the vase. The organic shape suits the color design as well. Very nice!😉

Ad from some ugly left overs. But left overs can sometimes taste the best.

I really like the asymmetry of the piece. Possibly my favorite piece of yours! What do you use for rotating the piece for the photo of the finished product? Nice presentation!

Hi Jill. I love reusing and recycling. That is from a decorative sculpture that had a rotating platform. When I say sculpture, something probably mass manufactured somewhere. Cheap in other words. The sculpture was broken and we were left with the base. It only has one speed, but just right. Best thing it is powered, not batteries or solar. So look out in the cheap shops or secondhand stores.

I love the free form edge. And such an easy way to make it. Would you really have had to use the metal form at all? “Waste” glass really makes some very nice pieces. I like to try new molds with waste glass first to work out firing schedules.

In hindsight, no. There simply wasn't enough glass to worry about. Testing is always best. That's why I make so many. Just out of curiosity some. Never know when I might use it.
