The Chinese are often overlooked in the segment but the T8 is an authentic and affordable bakkie that's simply different from the Germans and Japanese. Love the sporty and minimalist styling
I like the look, petrol engine, power, manual gearbox, price, but still not willing to take that risk. I'd rather pay extra 10k for Hilux, at least I know, what I am getting.
Greetings from Mexico. I am looking forward to getting my T8 delivered sometime soon in the next weeks. Your video was quite helpful. BTW your surroundings look a lot like Baja California my home state here in 🇲🇽
It's great to know our reviews are helpful to viewers as far afield as Mexico! The video was filmed outside a town called Hartebeespoort in the North-West province. In summer it's much greener and actually looks completely different! We hope your T8 is serving you well and we hope you keep watching.
@@bobafett1129 Well I picked it yesterday and drove around most of the day. :) 1st gear is very short but your typical diesel. I've pulled off in second gear no issues. The interior looks really good with the exception of some of the "knobs" that feels a bit "cheap" to the touch. Not a train smash. The touch screen is very cool. The kids and I were watching a movie last in the car but the system does not allow you to do that while the vehicle is in motion. The "glue" comment mentioned by the gentlemen? I don't have that at all. It smells like a new bakkie! :) I've only had the car for a day but thus far I am VERY happy with it not to mention the price and what you get. Is it worth the bucks? I'd say HELL YES! PS: Mine looks exactly like the one in this video but I had an "armadillo" fitted.
Bought one. Can't find a fuse map or spare parts list for the love of god. Disabling airbags seems impossible. Roof is mostly kept up by velcro adhesive strips, which half collapsed after 3 days from purchase. Did wait 8 months for replacement, still no news from the dealership. Guess the warranty policy is "buy it yourself on taobao". Mike of the onboard bluetooth call management broke 6 months in (used it 4 times). Manufacturer refused to clarify whether sim/e-sims or trackers are onboard. Amongst the design features: Water in puddles splash back high up into the windshield making the visibility near zero. Onboard screen at night reflects on the rear glass through the rearview mirror. Rear parking sensors lost calibration in less than 3 months. Do not dare to accelerate even slightly during a turn in wet/slightly wet paved road as on 2 wheels drive, with "high grip" (whatever that means) tires on, it slides out of control and demands formula1 reflexes to countersteer and save it from crash. It surely does not feel like it has much grip in general and I can only imagine what will happen in case of a blown tire or whatever (nothing good). I am used to vans, and it is my first pickup, and first rear wheel driving vehicle in general. Even in comparison to tall vans however, it seems unstable to me. Still, maybe others can share their impressions, especially in comparison with other pickups in the market, and let me know whether the instability is more or less standard on this kind of vehicle.

I’m at the dealership, I came to test drive it. My partner and I were both impressed by the car especially the price. The engine lacks refinement but the gear changes are smooth. The infotainment system is useless, I’ll have to look for a better aftermarket replacement. It feels like driving an SUV mostly but I have a feeling it won’t do too well above 120 km/h, it’s also a bit thirsty (10.4 l/100km). I’m buying it. I’ll update you guys when I do.
i guess he allready sold it because he did not like it after a couple kilometers...or maybe he is still trying to sell it...and he does not want to loose a lot of money.
That is unfortunately the main concern with most Chinese brands. They are offering some really good value for money products these days but one can't help but worry about how much of your hard earned money you will get back one day.
That jewel in the dash’s center is just that, when a hazard suddenly arises on the roadway ahead at 100 km/hr.. Finding it on some models can be perilous.
@@nokocambelngoasheng9279 I know the P-Series range.. I am talking about the Steed range which is part of GWM's catalogue, that's what the JAC is aiming at.

VW owns 50% of JAC And the other 50% is the investment of a local government. So this is pretty much what happens when some dudes get free reign to design a budget ute using VW running gear.
I purchased this truck (2023) T8 4x4 diesel in Ecuador. The product arrived faulty. JAC Motors quality control is NOT good. The representatives in Ecuador are uneducated and unprofessional. If you get a faulty T8 - you are in trouble! NOT RECOMMENDED.
@@sketchyssk8shop in theory, you could buy it and have it shipped to you, BUT you will pay close to 10k in shipping and import fees. Only to receive a truck you can't legally drive in the US

what about the parts

Maybe it's a JAC of all trades, i love the vw engine factor. 👌
True
Indeed
The abs brake system is a top priority for me👌JAC is undeniably an under rated and gentle giant for sure
I will give this car a chance just worried about resale value

Review the JMC Vigus 5 (4x2 or 4x4) please, you guys are some of the few out there reviewing the "alternatives" in SA, which is dearly needed. Thanks!
Nice review.! Watching from the Philippines... Great job!
Please do a review of GWM P Series vs Ranger vs Hilux vs Dmax vs Mahindra vs JAC vs Triton vs Amarock vs BT50 ... 😉
I love it already 😍😘💕❤️
I'd love to own one of these one day
where can i repaired it when i buy one??are the are the pieces general pieces??
Yeah, it's worth the look and money. It's quite inexpensive compared to other double-cabs.
Made in chine
No no no no, The GWM P series is way above this JAC, Infact the P series has the best interior compared to the 800k Hilux and Ranger
I'd say this probably looks like a competitor for the Isuzu dmax although it probably doesn't match up in many aspects probably except that n price
I think the GWM that it is supposed to compete with is the Steed ranges.
