So I recently got my hair back down to my shoulders after 10 months of having an undercut. I had a lot of issues with thickness and "flipping". This really helps me out for when I head back to the salon. I have never been able to commit because not being able to style it (I suck). So this video had really good pointers for not getting something basic, but rather something with texture. . I just got bangs and this makes me excited and hopeful for a permanent short hairstyle. First just let me start by saying thank you thank you thank you Chloe! I have always had long straight hair below my rear end but I've always wanted to try a short haircut. Well one morning I woke up and thought I was a hairdresser which to make it short, turned into me shaving my head what a nightmare. I wanted a haircut similar to yours but all the videos just show real quickly shave shave cut they don't show everything like you did. Showing how far up above the ears how far back how far up the back do you shave or have the shortest hair. I've been trying to find a stencil so its all event because my vision is extremely poor. Now that I've seen your video, I completely understand I am so grateful I can't thank you enough and your hair looks absolutely wonderful. I found your hairstyle on Instagram and immediately fell in love with it! I love that you did this video, too. I'm actually a quarter Japanese as well and I have crazy thick hair! Learning that immediately convinced me that I could pull off this hairstyle and that it could actually work for me. I went ahead and got it chopped last week and I've been loving it! Hi Chloe. I am new to this idea of the undercut. I am just curious if you could tell me - what purpose does it serve? Is it function or just style? I also have super thick short hair with a cowlick at the back bottom, and am wondering if an undercut would do well for me. I hate the back bottom flip out as well and want my hair to lay nice in the back. I don't love the look of it per se, but if it helps for functionality then maybe I should consider it?? I'm going in to get my hair colored and cut like yours and i wondered if you could share the color process and color names/numbers? My hair has gone somewhat brassy brown with natural silver roots as it hasn't been colored since end of June of this year. Also right now for my cut I actually have more of a pixie in the back so probably can't do the undercut in the back but probably can still do it on the sides, correct? My hair is thick and somewhat coarse although as of late it has smoothed out and is actually softer than normal. My sides are chin length like a bob. Any help you can give would be amazing.
I love it! I have a similar cut; it's shorter in the back. I just got my first undercut (did it myself) on the one side and love it! I do have a question for you though, can you tell us about your color? I would like to color my hair your color but I'm afraid it's going to be too much upkeep. I am one of those people who only go to the salon when I'm desperate, lol. Never keep the 6 wk. trim appt's. I go when I need something. So I would want to do this color upkeep at home. Chloeeeee! You're awesome and I have loved my cut inspired by you! I've been wondering how you cut it...scissors, razor, or clippers. My stylist tends to razor everything. Which is great but I get a lot of bulk around the nape of my neck. Should I suggest scissor work in some areas?

Hi. Thnx for sharing. I had such a good laugh since your hair is like mine. If I put it up, it will stay there😊. It’s thick and gets bulky easily. Therefore I also have undercuts. It still grows so I’m not there yet (currently as short as yours is here). Undercut at the back is not yet possible. But it’s a great solution for really thick hair. Love your two toned hair. Mine is very dark brown so not possible since it has to be bleached then and it will become too dry. Pity! Love your hair! Short or slightly longer. I’ll never get back to long hair. With shorter hair you will stand out more (more personality😉). Keep up with the nice video’s👍🏼.

A chin-length bob with pouty lips would make you look like a superstar. Your face shape and features would be perfect for this look, but I bet you probably already know that. Somebody with your knowledge of hair should seriously consider hairstyling as a profession. I highly recommend the Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica. One of our stylists here teaches there, and the graduates there have fantabulous careers.

We did a Q&A video a while back and he answered that question in the video :) You most definitely can! Trust your stylist.. I would probably not get the side cuts or undercut.. I get those to take out bulk

keep the sides and back shorter until to top is at a bob length then grow out the back and the sides.. that way you don't go through the mullet phase
