Pure Eventer haha lol same. But if I wanna become a horse trainer should I go to a college for horse training/riding? Or go to a regular one and get a degree equine science?

@@mackenziemonahan1766 I went to Black Hawk East Campus in Illinois for 2 years, For a degree in equine science. Honestly, you're perfectly capable of going on in the horse industry without doing that first. It's not a necessity to the career, but I will say I learned a lot of useful things from getting the degree in equine science before pursuing a career.

It’s hard to schedule good time in with horses because I am a nurse and work night shift and then sleep at 8am then try to get 8 hours of sleep so I’d wake up at 4pm and try to go out to the ranch at 6pm till about 10pm and go to my nurse job at 11pm and then do it all again for 5 days out of the week sometimes I’ll go to the horses on the weekend but it’s hard to find time for school and friends. I think I’m becoming a hard ass. I feel like I need to find a horse trainer to show me how to cope. Thanks for the video!!

This honestly didn’t tell me anything on how to get into the business. It just focused on what you do in the business.

As far as a salary that is a little harder to answer and there are a lot of varriables for that. It depends on how many horses you bring in, in a month. How long that particular horse is there for. What you charge for boarding and the up keep of that horse. As well as there are no set prices to what a trainer charges. I am honestly just starting out in training for other people and not just my own horses. So i keep my prices low and i have to board somewhere since i dont have my own place to keep client horses. So i charge a very minimal amount for my personal time and only get about half of what the total cost is. But i am working on building my reputation and client base and as soon as i can get a place that i can board on my own property my income level for my self will increase. Because by then i will be able to make a little profit on the boarding and training. Not just training and the more experience you have and the higher demand for your services the more you can charge. And month to month will very you may bring in more or less horses in one month to the next. And please to the folks that have put pricing down for a salery i mean no disrespect to you at all. I just know from a starting point i deffently dont make that much in a year and i deffently see a range from month to month because i am still working on getting my name and client list built.

Its mostly self managed finding someone to work for and getting a hourly salary is very rare unless you are in a wealthy very horse centered area mostly you just find your own clients and either own a barn or have clients board at a local barn
