Im suprised viking waited this long to get you on board, your content is amongst the best out there congrats and well deserved looking forward to some more great adventures.
@ just very good timing hahah, made my day mate. Shoutout Viking you guys are legends. And congrats to you too Matt, moving up in the world mate this is the shit I tell ya. Awesome days on the water honestly you’d be cheering after that, keen for the next one!
Hi Matt yeah those jellyfish where insane, i was out at Rau's those islands on Tuesday the 13th November, managed a nice 60cm snapper on a softie. There is so much structure there and even further out, i will be exploring there again for sure. Keep up the good work.
Great vid and good luck with your new Yak. Just a tip *** The c-tug trolley can be broken down and fits in the front hatch of the Reloads, saves you having to go back up and lock it up etc!!
cheers mate, im fully aware of the c tug fitting in the hatch, but i dont like carrying the weight in the bow of the kayak bc weight in the ends of any boat hugely impacts momentum through the waves.
The good weather has finally arrived at Raumati Matt. Mirror yesterday and today. really enjoy fishing around Maketu and the river mouth but had some interesting crossings of the bar. Great to see the new kayak blooded and look forward to the next chapter in your wanders around the motu
First time watching your videos, keep it up! Also lock that kayak down somehow... folks are slippery creatures and will take any opportunity to score something for free
Always loved watching your stuff Matt! You’ve got a bubbly personality on screen and obviously very passionate about the fishing, both which make for fun watching! Congrats on your sponsorship! ❤ sleigh rides ahead 😎😎
Congratulations. Great to see you getting the sponsorship. Living the dream. Was great to meet you in Paraparaumu. Completely understand why you left for more stable fishing weather. Hope the best for you.
nice vid bro, if you break down your railblaza trolley it fits perfectly in the front hatch of the yak(if you dont have other stuff in there) for all your future trips :)
Congratulations Matt, well done and well deserved. I guess that means we'll be seeing a bit more of you! Love your fishing tips as I've not long taken up kayak fishing after being a fly fisher most of my life. I love fishing, and very lucky to be surrounded by ocean now. Just a little tip on cooking your fish, butter makes it so much tastier
cheers mate, im stoked to here your getting into the sport! about the butter - I KNOW! but coconut oil was all i had and when the fish is fresh it tastes good no mater what
Nice one Matt great vid to sit down and chill out.The jellyfish have turned up in numbers here in Nelson as well.Enjoy your new kayak and cheers to Viking.Keep up the vids!!ps love the cooking tips ✌
cheers mate, from what im hearing the jellyfish have invaded the whole country lol, even nelson now?! don't take my cooking advice too seriously, my hunger often makes me arrogant to the culinary abominations i create lmao. tight lines bro
Matt you should go full circle and post your old kayak on trademe to sell it to a young fisho. Would be a cool vid idea too. Feels like you got that job just the other day and now you're sponsored! Congrats dood. That kayak is the ultimate "big dog"
Ehh morning bro, congrats on the new Kayak and team. That's litty and so well deserved. I tell yah I'd rather be in my old van atm. Held up in a bevy tent in non stop steady rain in a bit of bush with a rising creek waiting the rain out 😂, Life of a solo Backpacker in New Zealand. My nephew lasted two days but he tried.. This waterproof tent ain't so waterproof lol. Glad I've a fly to give some shelter. Have an amazing rest of your week
@NomadicKayakFishing +All G bro. I tell yah it was at the point where I just had to laugh all of it off aye..I tell yah nothing like everything been wet to make you appreciate things. Definitely getting the adventures I seeked. Thanks bro, have an amazing Sunday and week ahead.
How good is that. Acknowledging Viking for the sponsorship, supply, and support👍 The yak is a ; Wave Warrior (ngaru toa) pronounced Nah-roo tour 😂 i will crack up if you call her "aunty" pronounced yarntea.
the viking rudder system is designed without an uphaul. the blade sits flush with the bottom of the kayak and can kick up freely to avoid tangles of damage
Good old Thorton Beach - great place apart from the damn camping ground! Good video - nice fish on second day, used to fish there on Pursuit years ago - keep the dream going
You can use 100ml diameter pvc pipe strapped to your roof to store all your rods, you have end caps for the pipes and they will be safe,it'll free up space for your sleeping area😊
Cheers mate, but I use my Rods too much to muck around taking reels on and off. Having the Rods rigged and ready at all times is priority over comfort lol
Awesome vlog bro👏congratulations on the new job🤣😂The BOP always delivers a feed🤤Good on you for going all that way out there, paddle n a half mate😅Enjoy n keep up the good Mahi Ika🫡👌
Wow!! Well done Mat. I have been watching your videos for some time. I am thrilled for you that you have got the sponsorship. Thank you to Viking. Your youtube views are going to go through the roof. They have made a good investment. You will be an excellent advocate for them. My kayak is a "Fish Master" and while I love it, it is a bit heavy compared to your new Viking beast.
Thanks mate, really appreciate it. Truly a dream come true to work with viking after using and loving there gear for so long. The fishmaster kayaks are a good entry level, but most people upgrade to the viking as they progress 👍 Tight lines brother!
@NomadicKayakFishing Your doing what we all wished we had done at your age bro. You could obviously see though the matrix trap and avoided the trap. Live it up and enjoy my friend.
got your paddle right side up brother😅😁! bet it's a dream in that longer hull. that's a nice, seaworthy fishing kayak. my old town pdl doesn't handle chop like that. you're inherently so much more stable with a paddle in your hands.
well i had it the right way in the beginning until the comments led me astray lmao. interesting about the PDL, i've never thought about it like that. tight lines bro
I new it! seen you at the local on my way to work one morning and thought what the heck were you doing up these ways, had to rub my eyes thought I was seeing things. Congrats on the sponsorship, well deserved.
yea its a tricky one, if i store a portable smoker inside it will take up too much room and stink out my living space. i need to figure a way to store one on the roof
I know, but I come from a background in dinghy racing... a big thing I learnt from it was that weight in the ends of a boat drastically affects momentum through waves. I'm being nit picky I know, but for long paddles I take every bit of performance I can get👍
Im suprised viking waited this long to get you on board, your content is amongst the best out there congrats and well deserved looking forward to some more great adventures.
Thanks mate, really appreciate it!
BABE WAKE UP NOMADIC KAYAK FISHING JUST UPLOADED!!!
Bro were u waiting🤣 the first legend to comment
@ just very good timing hahah, made my day mate.

Didn't know Richard Wilkens son was a fisherman?!
awesome upgrade. new colour scheme suits ya. congrats on becoming a pro member with viking.

Well done Matt. You deserve the rewards. Enjoy the kayak and look forward to all the upcoming videos.
Great vid and good luck with your new Yak. Just a tip *** The c-tug trolley can be broken down and fits in the front hatch of the Reloads, saves you having to go back up and lock it up etc!!

Sick episode mate, congrats on the new sponsorship and quitting your job, give it heaps bro! Nice PENN combo BTW. 🔥
The good weather has finally arrived at Raumati Matt. Mirror yesterday and today. really enjoy fishing around Maketu and the river mouth but had some interesting crossings of the bar. Great to see the new kayak blooded and look forward to the next chapter in your wanders around the motu
typical aye lol, as soon as i leave the weather comes right. cheers mate and tight lines
Well deserved sponsorship Matt!

Nice one Matt great vid to sit down and chill out.The jellyfish have turned up in numbers here in Nelson as well.Enjoy your new kayak and cheers to Viking.Keep up the vids!!ps love the cooking tips ✌

tight lines bro
You're a motivation my brother. 100%
Appreciate bro! Comments like this are my motivation
The Nomadic
congratulations on the new yak.
our jellyfish are just starting to leave as the water starts cooling here in NW Florida
Awesome vid mate 👍🏽

Was wondering when viking would hook up you with some gear. Nice one!
How good is that.
Acknowledging Viking for the sponsorship, supply, and support👍
The yak is a ;
Wave Warrior (ngaru toa) pronounced
Nah-roo tour 😂
i will crack up if you call her "aunty" pronounced yarntea.
thanks heaps. i must say "yarntea" has a nice ring to it but the name i have in mind is hard to beat
@NomadicKayakFishing
Can't wait for champagne bubbles on the nose of the new viking ambassador 😍
Get used to pulling up ur ruddar as coming into the shallows to dis mount Easy to damage ur rudder
the viking rudder system is designed without an uphaul. the blade sits flush with the bottom of the kayak and can kick up freely to avoid tangles of damage
Great stuff Matt, couldn't happen to a more deserving RUclipsr! I recon you should call it "BABE WAKE UP ..... " haha
hahaha thanks Andy! but that name would be very awkward to say... - "just going for a fish in BABE WAKE UP" lmao
Great vid mat and good luck with your new adventure. Yak name Seeker
Name the kayak after your first missus that you actually liked. 👍😃
Good old Thorton Beach - great place apart from the damn camping ground!
Good video - nice fish on second day, used to fish there on Pursuit years ago - keep the dream going
cheers mate, its a stunning place. did you have the pleasure of fishing with rick pollock onboard pursuit?
Call it Floki , the boat builder from Vikings .
not bahd but ive got something better in mind ;)
You can use 100ml diameter pvc pipe strapped to your roof to store all your rods, you have end caps for the pipes and they will be safe,it'll free up space for your sleeping area😊
Cheers mate, but I use my Rods too much to muck around taking reels on and off. Having the Rods rigged and ready at all times is priority over comfort lol

They have made a good investment. You will be an excellent advocate for them. My kayak is a "Fish Master" and while I love it, it is a bit heavy compared to your new Viking beast.
Call it "The Beast"
Thanks mate, really appreciate it. Truly a dream come true to work with viking after using and loving there gear for so long.
The fishmaster kayaks are a good entry level, but most people upgrade to the viking as they progress 👍
Tight lines brother!
Or perhaps, "Ragnar Lothbrook" (He was a rather famous Viking.)
@@NomadicKayakFishing Thanks mate. I really got a buzz to hear you got this sponsorship. You have put in the hard work. You totally have earned it.
Awesome video bro. Love your work. Congratulations on quitting your job too. Jealous as!
cheers mate, a appreciate it.
i find it hilarious how many people are congratulating me on my unemployment lmao
@NomadicKayakFishing Your doing what we all wished we had done at your age bro. You could obviously see though the matrix trap and avoided the trap. Live it up and enjoy my friend.
got your paddle right side up brother😅😁! bet it's a dream in that longer hull. that's a nice, seaworthy fishing kayak. my old town pdl doesn't handle chop like that. you're inherently so much more stable with a paddle in your hands.
well i had it the right way in the beginning until the comments led me astray lmao. interesting about the PDL, i've never thought about it like that. tight lines bro
wicked stuff bro
Nice vid. Where did you get your hi vis top? Excellent for safety and being spotted by the boaties
cheers mate, the top is a Gill Dinghy Jacket. can get one from burnsco
I new it! seen you at the local on my way to work one morning and thought what the heck were you doing up these ways, had to rub my eyes thought I was seeing things. Congrats on the sponsorship, well deserved.
hahah yep, I'm on the move again! thanks heaps and tight lines
Seeing as it's Viking you should name it "Fisk" means (to) fish or (fish) in Old Norse
not a bad idea, but not quite my style. thanks mate and tight lines
where are you storing your old one, and is that new kayak permanently yours?
Epic only just found your channel couple months ago always a pleasure to watch good shit on the sponsorship 🎉🎉🎉FREEEEEEDDDDOOOMMMMM!¡!!!
Kayak name Marco polo
Mate I just bought a profish 400 because of you, and now you moved on to a new babe, and even better! Heart broken 😂😂😂
hahahah sorry bro, the 400 is still an excellent boat, especially with the new hull design the brought out last year. tight lines mate
@ yeah mate! Congrats on the new chapter with Viking!
🔥
I hate peeling garlic with a passion its so strenuous. I just buy crushed garlic now lol
i knew i wasn't the only one!
new material with 27Kg weight? fast kayak
correct, the reload is now 27kg
I'm surprised you don't have a little fish smoker in your van.
yea its a tricky one, if i store a portable smoker inside it will take up too much room and stink out my living space. i need to figure a way to store one on the roof
You can put your wheels in the hatch bro, its big enough now😂
i know mate but id rather not carry the extra weight on long paddles
@ fair enough, I’m just giving you shit mate hahaha sorry bro 😂I’m stoked you’ve got a reload 👍more good times ahead
epicness!
Kayak name - Nomad???
You should call the kayak Vicky 😂
The fishing is ok, but I'm really here for stuff like the big jellyfish.
hahah funny you say that, i was thinking the same thing, they were massive. never seen anything quite like it
@NomadicKayakFishing I've seen some like that around Washington State in America, and it's like an alien invasion is happening.
new sub good stuff
How about the snapper snatcha for a name 😅
No job no worries, call her The Freedom Waka
Bro you do realise the c tug trolly comes apart and fits into the front hatch of the reload?
yep i do realise, but not a fan of carrying the extra weight in the bow...
The can handle that tiny bit of extra weight bro
I know, but I come from a background in dinghy racing... a big thing I learnt from it was that weight in the ends of a boat drastically affects momentum through waves.
I'm being nit picky I know, but for long paddles I take every bit of performance I can get👍
Fair enough mat
Name her the Jeff slayer
call the Kayak yatti
6:40 anyone else see that thing swim by?
jellyfish.
Where's the net bro!
takes up too much room in the van lol
@NomadicKayakFishing lol fair call
I don't understand why ppl kayak to the middle. Of the ocean to fish instead of fishing closer to the shore
you gotta fish where the fish are... this day, they were out in the middle
Huckleberry Finn
Not bad but it's gonna have to be a special name to top what I have in mind
Nice vid BUT please dont make us listen to that nasty noise that may be missinterpreted as music
