The water wasn't water though, it was the melted body of a monster that melts people's limbs from the inside and fuses them again like concrete. They tried to look for other sources of water with the help of the robots but all of it was undrinkable. Somehow, by devouring Iryumui's newborn offspring the effects were negated.

prolly had to do with how irumyui 'transformation' that repel the abyss curse/forcefield. i think her essence which infused with the wish stones neutralise the adverse effect of the water. n that is why faputa is reclaiming her mother's by cannibalising the villagers.
Yeah it's kinda indicated, that iryumis wish was to have children but also to safe vueko so the wish granting egg combined both wishes and came up with this morbid solution... well, the Abyss is just fcked up XD

The part where you say Riko could hype up something of hers to make it seem more valuable than it really is.. the village doesn't work like that. It is designed in a way that prevents cheating other people and unless someone truly believes in the value of what they're selling from the bottom of their heart, so much so that they even fool themselves, they can't fool other people into trading with it. The balancing will always know. Iruburu always knows.

By the end they cheat the system to basically do anything they want because if your friend is who you are bartering with and you both think it's fair then it won't react. It was more so a problem when they first got there and didn't know anyone.
Basically just like real life market.
Currency is basically that. If a country use their currency to buy and sell resources it'll actually make it more valuable. Problem is USA will bomb the shit out of you if you try just ask iraq and lebanon lol.

Here's the reason why they're rushing, it's due to Riko getting excited, when that happens, she throws away her common sense with wild abandon. This isn't the only time she's done this, when she met Ozen, she was given specific instructions to not explore at night, and what did she do?? Well since she couldn't find the restroom (which was coincidentally located in the same room she slept in) she decided to explore and was attacked by some almagation. Same thing happened when the group met my boy Bondrewd. I'm honestly starting to believe that the complete loss of common sense is part of the curse of the abyss....but only for Riko.
Not to mention riko is running out of time as explained by ozen
Riko has an unresistible longing for the abyss, because she was born there tho! It was confirmed in the manga that she was stillborn in the fifth level and was put into the cube, which resurrected her and made her get that irresistible longing
@Fortie It was stated that when Riko was first brought to the surface, she would constantly try to crawl towards the Abyss, and Lyza always had to stop her.

the hollows in the village arent the ones who survived the curse, but they traded their bodies for village's protection. they get a new body that they wished for once they do that. a normal survivor of the sixth layer's curse would look something like mitty and the hollows you could see after bondrewds experiments. if they we're like nanachi, they would all look like furries.
i think that how nanachi wanted to look or more like smell, remeber that even the ophans couldn't stand her smell and after the transformation everyone comments on how good her odor is
One thing to remember about the villagers is that they have all been trading for basically the last 150+ years (their time anyways). Only a couple basically refuse to bargain and retain their original 'wish' bodies, like the 'red dragon' who traded away all his flesh and everything and now exists as a sentient bag of gas in a robot.
I remember learning somewhere that the way currency is handled in the village doesn't really leave room to be sneaky even with clever lies, it's simply not allowed (assuming I'm not misremembering of course). From what I can remember if you are required to trade something you have that is based on how much you value it then you have no choice but to use something you REALLY value, unless you could somehow hypnotize yourself into caring a LOT about a particular non valuable item then I don't think the strategy mentioned would work.
I absolutely agree, but she still could have done something if she just used her brain. Use her friends. The page doesn't have to same value to them. So she should have cut her hair or rip of a few finger nails (it would keep it's value) and asked one of her friends to buy it. They could than give it to her, and in the case that it doesn't work they could just give it to her once they left the place.
It's basically the oldest trading system in the world.

From there we enter in 2 individuals bartering over items that have value only to them, to the extent that they value their items.
It seems crooked, but in essence, it is the cleanest form of capitalism ever.
i mean just trade blood in instalments you have a near unlimited supply of it and you value it quite alot so just drain a cup of blood every day and boom near unlimited value. like a adult human can lose a whole 14% of their total blood without any side effects so a cup of blood is more then reasonable
@@ginorvdw it’s easier this way, cuz one party can actually afford to exchange that thing, and it’s the total opposite of money, your junk in your garage could be incredibly useful for someone else, and that someone else could have something you need really bad, then those objects are no longer valued on money but on pure utility

1. Reg was named by Lyza, Riko's mom, because that was their old dog's name when Riko was growing up. It just so happens that Riko ALSO named him Reg to fit in at Orth.
2. Reg lost his memories because he used his last (10th out of 10) incinerator before his "relic" status became useless. He was hard-rebooted by the electric shock, similarly to when his maximum uses of the incinerator were reset when tapping into the power source at Ido Front on the 5th layer. Using all 10 incinerator charges causes Reg and all other units to lose their memories.
3. Some core memories in Reg were still subconsciously stored, such as flashes, urgency, and sensory info. Essentially, Reg was programmed with his mission to help retrieve Riko and bring her down to Lyza. He told Faputa that he was retrieving his "Haku", his most valuable thing. He was drawn towards the bottom of the abyss and agreed to go down with Riko because subconsciously, he knew that was his task.
4. Reg also retained subconscious romantic attraction to fluffiness because of his experiences with Faputa in his past life.
5. The reason Riko in season 1 was so willing to go down to find her mother was not because of Reg, or the letters, or her mother's presumed survival, but the fact that she is now part-relic, born of the abyss, resurrected at the hands of a rare relic, and is crawling her way down to the center of the earth like a piece of zombie flesh.
6. The further down and longer White Whistle delvers go, the more deformed their psyches are and the less humanity and empathy they possess, despite not being hollows. This is accompanied with streaks of white or strange colors in the hair. Lyza will 100% be more evil than Bondrewd by the time they find her, and time dilation will mean she's only been gone a few months in her mind at most.
7. Time dilation also means that Riko and Reg have been gone from Orth for probably over 2 years by now.
8. The only safety from the Abyss, its curse, and the literal hell and dimension-altering mysticism inside of its depths is to avoid it by several miles and stay the hell away from the island.

26:30 Faputa is biologically programed to destroy the village. She said she couldn't stop if she wanted to, and she _really_ didn't want to stop.
Damn dude, these recap is way of track. There are at least a dozen things you said that were wrong and a few very important things you left out, an example being the creature that was ripped apart and sold was suffering a punishment known as the balancing for injuring Prushkas pet and almost killing it. Since it didn't have enough value to make up for this act it was torn apart and made into value to make up for what was done and give Riku the value she was owed.
It does not really matter though for a recap. We dont need/want all thd lore. We want a quick rundown of the plot and some witty banter along the way.

Honestly the best way to beat the Golden City in the Abyss is probably to just leave the Abyss entirely; sure it will kill you but Riko's died once already so that shouldn't stop them.

How to survive the fact that the manga only has 3 chapters beyond the anime adaptation which means it'll take a decade at least for season 3.

To be fair, Reg did actually end up on top in his fight with Faputa, she was bound beneath him with 2 arms broken, it was him trying to "charm" her by telling her how much he feels sorry for her that made him loose the whistle powerup and let Faputa take him by surprise as he was crying his heart out.
Also, Reg didn't need to lie to Faputa about Riko's importance, she already considered her to be of great value to Reg, and by extension to Faputa as she mixed her hair with that of Nanachi and Riko as a form of beast repellent. The best way for the gang to survive the slaughterfest would be to simply not engage with Faputa. She had no beef with any of them, even going out of her way to help. Regarding villagers, they're pretty fucked, but seeing them tending to Reg or generally huddling around him would probably be enough for her to leave them alone. They would still die if the village got destroyed.
She might be a 150 year old eldritch mass of immortal fluff and hatred born from sheer desire for revenge and bloodlust, but other than that she's basically a cuck (or rather cuckqueen) as seen by her defaulting to trying to get into Reg's pants after asking which one of the girls is his "haku" - most valuable thing. Reg might fuck up a lot of dialogue options, but my man was about to get head from a literal diety 5min after meeting her again with 2 other chicks in tow, what a chad.

One of the things that I'd considered as a way to actually trade organs in the Golden City is that there would presumably be ways to trade _for_ organs as well which means that you could presumably lose more then just a few. In particular since Riko has some damage at the joint of her arm she could probably trade for a new one and actually get a upgrade out of it.

The thing is, the moment you trade anything that belongs to your body and does not regrow naturally (IE nails, hair, dead skin cells ...) you lose your wholeness, you stop being human, and from the vibes I got, you also lose part of your soul. You become part of the village.
I was crying so hard at Faputa's mother's story its them and their leader's fault never listen to that kind of person at all he cause this.
Humans driven by survival will commit unspeakable atrocities to ensure their survival, but that doesn't necessarily make them evil.
When faced with horrifying death, you would probably have done the same thing survival instincts would take over and your sense of morality would evaporate.
The fact that each of them feels incredible guilt for what happened proves that they are no evil or soulless monsters, but we're just people caught in terrible circumstances doing anything they can to survive In the hellish reality they found themselves in.

So I don't think forging a lie to get Lyza's letter would have worked. In that there's an explanation that the Balancing uses signals from the soul to determine an item's value and if there is an obvious imbalance to that trade's value, you will be balanced until the correct value is met. Majikaja does say you can lie to yourself of the item's true value, but I think it would take a lot of time for self convincing to do that, either Riko hypes up the importance of an item to herself or understates the value of her mother's letter until whatever she gives can equal that value. Let's say Nanachi lies to her that they sentimentally kept the bandage they used to patch riko up back in their place in the fourth layer, then Riko gives that thing some sentimental value, then maybe that would work.
Does she have to lie though. She literally has the monopoly on human bodyparts. If she wanna sell a hair for a whole ass house, she could.xD

Lying to Faputa isn't smart. Lies are eventually found out, and an angry Faputa makes people she's mad at very dead.

You neglect to mention that Wazukyan knew all of this would happen beforehand because of his clairvoyance and decided to lead them all into it on purpose. He manipulated _everything_ so that it would turn out this way. "What they should have done" was not go down there without being more prepared since it's not like they were trying to find a specific person alive like Riko is. But Wazukyan wouldn't have allowed it to go that way. If they'd gone fully prepared and supplied then they wouldn't have needed to drink the false water, which means they wouldn't have been forced to give the Cradle of Desire to Irumyuui, which wouldn't have caused _all that shit_ to happen, which wouldn't have lead to the birth of a being created from the sum of their experiences that is more than human who can freely explore the Abyss and continue their group's pilgrimage to the bottom: Faputa.
Faputa knows Wazukyan is to blame; she knows what every single villager did. Irumyuui gave her that knowledge. But Irumyuui was a child and Faputa is practically an animal.
Your plan to smooth-talk Faputa has a major flaw: she's an angry, irrational pile of childish vengeance. That's just who she is. She literally _jammed her arm down Reg's throat to punch him from the inside_ in order to try to _beat_ the memory back into him. She probably genuinely hoped that would work.
"And Red Dragon donates his soul into Faputa" Not what happened. His name is Majikaja and his actual form is made of smells. All the other bodies he had were just puppets for him to inhabit. What he does here is possess Faputa for a little bit while she's unconscious until he, too, disappears due to Iruburu being destroyed.

@@ameliawatsonvoicepack4297 vueko was definitely pretty reckless. but understandable what made her do that. immense grief, gult, and love for essentially, her adopted daughter. not sure she would've wanted to remain alive, anyways. might even have been a liability, her squad failed their mission, even her expertise and committment in caring for others was not enough. and also, have to wonder how healthy and biologically stable she even was. 150 years, and she still showed signs of significant aging/stress. probably life sustained and prolonged by being plugged-in.
tragic as her death may be, it was honestly the best thing that happened to her, aside from being struck by the curse. but then, she already denounced herself as human/"good", so maybe it's only through sympathetic eyes to see that detail as something bad. in context of her viewpoint and overall backstory, she got what she wanted and what she believed she deserved.

No, you cannot cheat the value system. It literally read your soul to determine the value.
The system off value in Irumyuui doesn't work like that, they can't make the value of an object rise, it is completely bound to a value it holds for the people, if that wouldn't be the case Maa would have died after hurting menya, because the village would have too correct for an uncountable value (according to what Rico said) which would result in the annihilation of Maa, who would have to offer everything of value they own, including themself

Fr that pissed me off. She just “forgot” about the curse and got horribly afflicted by a curse that killed her? From a writing perspective it was completely unnecessary. Would have fit better if she died in the heart of Iyu
Vueko didn't deserve a life full of suffering and misfortune, but that's the way the world works. Some live well, without problems and die peacefully in a bed surrounded by their relatives. Others it seems that they were only born to suffer, cursed by fate. I endured the entire second season without crying but the depressing ending of Vueko broke me... I cried like a child, lost and heartbroken.
"To those who devote themselves to challange the Abyss, a place where darkness itself fears to go, the Abyss shall return all. Life, death. Curse and blesssing. The entirety of it all. At the end of your journey, what will be the closure that you shall obtain? The ones who shall decide are only those who dare to challange"
Truthfully I rather would have Vueko joining the group than Faputa
I really don't get what the authors message/meaning for the sixth layer was. I don't understand why Rikko was so happy and understand with the nightmare monsters that want to vivisect her whilst she's still alive for some warped sense of value. All of the Abyss is at least about sacrifice, determination and insanity; a physical and mental journey into hell in pursuit of the unknown and the hope that they will find what they lack at the bottom.
If I had to guess, I'd say that Season 2 is in part about the importance of connection and resources. The storybeat that kickstarted the Trio's place in the arc was someone bypassing their security and stealing Prushka. Given the situation, that person could've done alot more damage if they were malicious, so its good the Trio didn't carry an assumption or grudge against them or the village because of that little incident. Later on, we realize that Prushka is being upgraded tremendously, with her consent as well. The situation highlighted the importance of having allies, not antagonizing people carelessly, and making use of the abilities of those allied to oneself.
We see more of these personal abilities being shown to be important whenever Faputa (or whoever) can tell that Pruska is giving them consent to upgrade her into a better item, and we see it again whenever Riko was afraid to climb stairs in the settlement but Nanachi told her the Curse was not active there. So again, make use of your allies, and don't go out of your way to make enemies. If they handled things poorly with Prushka being stolen, they might not have gotten the upgrade in the end. Plus there's also a message of trust: Riko would've lost her humanity climbing those stairs if Nanachi was lying, it's obvious she trusts Nanachi. You can't get far with a team in a setting like this without trust.
There's also the whole thing about Faputa opening her eyes and adapting to the nature of the situation instead of just killing everyone blindly, possibly including Reg. If she was blindly vengeful, so many bad things would've happened. As I mentioned with the danger of assumptions, it's important to be situational and flexible. That's what Faputa did to save the party, and that's what the Trio have been doing all along.
I'd even argue that these messages have been present as far back as the encounter with that one creepy woman, Ozen? Reg and Riko could've killed themselves refusing her training or even choosing to antagonize her after their encounter. They made use of an unexpected ally and made the most of the opportunity. Goes to show that the party has the principles to succeed.

The artwork in general is stellar, though I don't actually want to associate with it.
Tried reading the comic a while back, but the paedo-stuff was just...I know they're just drawings, but it made my stomach churn, and not in that enjoyable body-horror way.

@@chibiusa2018 No, you've just severely overestimated someone based on their own poorly thought out hindsight. Lies are like rapidly spoiling milk, they'll eventually go off, the question is when, and who's left with the sour curds.
In the case of exaggerated value, The Balancer will ding you for it eventually, and we've already seen what happens when you bring it's ire. Lying to a literal 5 tailed fox-spider goddess of revenge is a really bad idea in general, especially when she figures it out and rips you limb from limb.🤦♀️

She wasn’t really forced to have babies. I’m pretty sure having babies was a part of her wish. she was originally kicked out of her village for being infertile 🎉. And I believe she was also wishing to save her friends, so the egg combined the two together. Making her babies the thing that would save her friends.

There are clear water, its just not save because monsters,,
This "water" area save because monsters know the water are not save.
There were several water sources. There was a rust tainted one, a safe two that were in dangerous places they couldnt get anymore, and the not water they chose.
The water issue was solved by collecting the rust tainted water instead of the other ones and running it through modified barrels stacked to filter the rust with sand rocks and cloth in sequence and finally boil.
Itd be the only way. Then build a large resivoir to keep the water to grow crops, feed livestock, and drink.
Its an intensive process, both resource and labor wise, but completely possible.
Another then was to collect the rust water, boil it and use cloth to condensate the steam to drink using a hide cloth combination treated in brain paste to make it like a tarp, or a piec3 of metal or wood.
Wazukyan would never allow that. He made sure they didn't go down there well equipped enough to do that in a survivable amount of time. His clairvoyance let him see everything in advance and he deliberately chose these actions. All so that he could manipulate everyone's experiences to create a being beyond human, one that could freely wander the Abyss and continue their pilgrimage to the bottom for them. His entire goal since before they even landed on the island was Faputa.
