8:25 modern video stabilizing technology. absolutely beautiful. thank you so much for putting in the work for that one throw away bit. a talented editor makes a good video great.
I investigated this recently - I played competitively at the time, including reaching the PlayLinc semifinals and Giant Cup quarterfinals, and the first time I drifted (in an autosave that I still have) was on 18-7-2006. It had only been discovered for competitive purposes around June/July of 2006 I would guess, nearly half a year after the game's release.
American in Sweden here so to all my European friends I will explain. Thanksgiving in the U.S. is similar to Jul in Sweden, but without the gifts and with the addition of American football. It’s a day centered around family, food, and gratitude. Families gather, usually close relatives like parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins, to share a large meal featuring traditional dishes like turkey, stuffing, and various sides like green bean casserole and sweet potatoes. Think of it as a true "feast day" atmosphere, much like Jul or Påsk in Scandinavia, but on a bigger scale. Conversations often include planning for Christmas, and sometimes even family disagreements, adding to the lively nature of the holiday. Meanwhile, traditional NFL teams play games wearing throwback uniforms reminiscent of the early 1900s. The sheer amount of food is almost overwhelming, and people usually take home leftovers that last for days. Thanksgiving is probably the most significant family holiday in the U.S., even more so than Christmas or Easter. A key tradition is going around the table, with each person sharing something they’re thankful for. At its heart, Thanksgiving is about gratitude and being thankful for family, friends, and the chance to come together and celebrate these connections. My wife who is Swedish and daughter who is a dual citizen did not truly understand it until they went to the states with me and experienced it. Now we have a mini Thanksgiving at home here in Sweden to celebrate whenever we can't make it to the US. By the way turkeys in Sweden are damn expensive. 😂
I played Trackmania on a laptop in class back when it launched; I built maps and everything. I sat in the back row and every week the desks around me moved back a little more (to watch me play) until the teacher told me to go play in the corner so I wouldn't be so distracting to everyone. I was never good at it, but building tracks and playing them was just so fun.
I believe wirtual pays by time so consequentially by telling editor to do more things gets him paid more. He could have probably used a tracker not sure about how After Effects works, but he can do it by hand for the raise👍
I have put sooo many hours in Trackmania Nation ESWC. I was only a teenager and I build so many tracks and had so much fun with the online community. The best community I have ever experienced in any game I've played. Eventually even got some classic tracks on TMX. The vibes, the music, the discovery. It was SO good. Best gaming times for me.
Are you really sure that as the largest streamer in the Trackmania category, that it's a good idea to have a permanent stream siphoning viewers off the smaller streamers? Just seems kinda unnecessary to me. As a larger streamer you should be supporting smaller creators by promoting exploration in the category, not giving people an excuse to never watch anyone else. Just my opinion tho.
6:05 how can you conclude that airbraking was a thing in the alpha, if the whole driving model was created as a mod based on a video? This isn't the actual alpha but an approximation, is it not?
Back in my childhood, I didn't know about TM until I turned 15. But my earliest racing Game with an Editor was LEGO Stunt Rally. It's short but sweet Game you really should try some day
I always hosted friends giving during college for the international students. I'd cook them the whole spread, turkey, ham, real mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, yams, apple, pecan, lemon, and pumpkin pies, a couple types of stuffing, fresh rolls, gravy, butter carrots, cranberry sauce. We'd eat, play games like Cards against Humanity, watch football, and put on some movies (one year was lord of the rings). Best thanksgivngs hands down. I love my family but those were the best times.
Oldest Version? *I* Played Trackmania 1.0 Before Powerup (1.25). Before Original (1.5) Before Sunrise. Before Sunrise Extreme. Before Nations ESWC. Before United. I am Old.
I refuse to let that cringey meme be the first comment. Good video wirt (I haven't watched it yet). Edit: Can't believe you forgot to credit the music artist at 24:30
I checked my RUclips rewind and I’m in the top 0.1% of wirtual fans. I watched 57x as much as the average viewer. I guess that’s cause I’ve watched every single video he’s ever uploaded cause all his videos are so good.
Thanks for also being my #1 watched gaming creator, mr funny car man. Although it says here that trackmania isnt my most watched game...? Whatever youtube...
8:15 I think mr editor should have a few extra crumbs for this
shit made me more nauseous lmao
@@Weddzzzthats what in saying. Didnt help really😂
pffft, didnt even use AI to fill in the black bars that were created
it was just a few keyframes lol
8:26 bruh did it by hand instead of using motion tracking on the car to stabilize
Probably because he gets paid by time
he did it the ballsy way
8:25 modern video stabilizing technology. absolutely beautiful. thank you so much for putting in the work for that one throw away bit. a talented editor makes a good video great.
HELLO CHAT I'M AT DISNEY WORLD RIGHT NOW YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE THE WAYS MINNIE MOUSE CAN BEND
Nah that’s crazy Buckley
buckleys pants in minnies pants
That’s crazier than wirtual in mayo

Shoutouts to editor for stabilizing the footage using keyframes instead of tracking the car in after effects
This is when Mayo Sliding was in its infant stages. Back then, they didn't use as much mayonnaise because they slid on walls instead of floors. 🥛🥛🥛
The grenaddy impression was the best part of the video
Was spot on too
9:10 Some how felt more nauseous lol

22:10 official Lethamyr Twitch talking about WirtualAI. Collab of the century?
Bro you need to get your poor neighbor something 💀
5:00 "If I was not loud and not a nuisance, I would have probably not gotten a complaint" Yh, no sh*t Wirtual...
The subtle edit at 12:00 is great. Well done editors :)
"Picture this, it's 2006" : Ceases to exist
Young'n. But, hey. It's all good. I was 25 back then....
Fuck, I'm old.
Relatable xdd
I’m in this picture and I don’t like it
I was -2

That outro was perfect
10:26 As a german, I'm currently shitting myself out of laughter

WIRTUAL. give your editor a massive bonus, I love 8:14
I believe wirtual pays by time so consequentially by telling editor to do more things gets him paid more. He could have probably used a tracker not sure about how After Effects works, but he can do it by hand for the raise👍
wait a second, Wall grip like in Island?!
Bro is so in love with stadium he refuses to acknowledge the existence of any trackmania without it.
The older TM Sunrise environments had air braking, so you would expect this to have it too.
"OLDEST Version of Trackmania"
Average Stadium Andy trying to erase the memory of TM 1 and Sunrise.

Keyboard an inferior input device confirmed
i love that wirtual is like a living trackmania museum docent. what do you mean you recognise which map it is from a dimmed out crt photograph

It's short but sweet Game you really should try some day
POV: high speed wood physics
Title isn't strictly accurate; this is the oldest version of the TrackMania Stadium environment, but not TrackMania itself.
This is not the oldest version of TrackMania, that was released in 2003.
Holy shit that outro gave me some intense nostalgia
“Modern stabilization technology”
>manually shifts everything
I didn't have this game as a kid, but I DID have Motocross Madness 2. Nothing on God's green earth beats their music choice for the intro.
Bro the first guy to hit a shortcut was also the first to come up with the cotd name diff strat

The cherry on top for the Granady impression would be if the editor made the facecam shake as he truns
10:30 that is a horrible granady impression, didn't say zak enough
I didnt exist in 2006, but it gave me so much nostalgia for some reason 😂
For me, it has that same nostalgic feeling as the gt4 intro with the white ford 05
Thank you so much camp-nz for fixing the cammera on that on clip, I watched it live and it was so nauseating.
first impression of the physics is that it basically looks like bay car which you can't slide out
"There's something truly special here" Yes, it's nostalgia
8:16 bro that is NOT modern camera stabilization technology 💀💀💀
I hope you play more, this was a very fun watch
The camera swinging around keeps baiting me into thinking the editor's zooming in to do a cheeky transition
@camp-nz nice throwback to I9 cut, loved it!
The outro... so 2007.
Oldest Version?
*I* Played Trackmania 1.0
Before Powerup (1.25). Before Original (1.5)
Before Sunrise. Before Sunrise Extreme. Before Nations ESWC. Before United.
I am Old.
i have instantly ceased to exist
TMN ESWC - my start into the game 2006. What a time that was back than
honestly wirtual, the best part about thanksgiving is that its a pie holiday instead of a cake holiday
Holy crap the intro movie brought me back so hard
Damn... i doesnt even play this game... but ive watched so many videos about it... i may be addicted... congrats :) hello from Brasil ✨️🇧🇷✨️
Oh my gosh those end credits. What a throwback.
Bro went back to before newton
Cam3 reminded me of the original Ridge Racer for the ps1. Good times.
I refuse to let that cringey meme be the first comment. Good video wirt (I haven't watched it yet).
Edit: Can't believe you forgot to credit the music artist at 24:30
Something something mayonnaise something something
Loved the themed Outro
thank you for the windows movie maker outro, mister editor, very cool
😮
😮
Ah yes, the oldest Trackmania game... Trackmania 3.
As someone who started on sunrise i have in fact played ESWC, just not this version.
the outro is such a nice touch lol
I still can’t believe that one guy stole my identity
Oh man I forgot about that intro. What a throwback!
I checked my RUclips rewind and I’m in the top 0.1% of wirtual fans. I watched 57x as much as the average viewer. I guess that’s cause I’ve watched every single video he’s ever uploaded cause all his videos are so good.
Ancient mayo slides
That outro... legendary xD
The end credits are glorious, shoutout to the OG Aaaaaaa91
cool how the editor managed to stabilze the video :)
Wirtual will still find a way to slide in mayo in this version.
modern image stabilization stabilizing technology "misst" = keyframing
Was surprised, 15% of my watch time was gaming, I watched 166 games, from 262 creators but I was still in the 0.1% of Wirtual viewers
Cam 1 looks like in all tm Sunrise cars (Island, Bay, Coast)
"You were in the top 0.1% of WirtualTV fans" here aswell with you being my most watched
Love your video I learned so much about the game and how to play
Speaking of old - have you tried 4d Sports Driving aka. Stunts?
Wirtual should do a geoguesss but in trackmania, he'll be the next Rainbolt
Nice edit montage
Yes, nerding out on TM, recognizing I-9 from the screenshot and yapping about fruit flies...
That's the Wirty-chan I like. Uwu.
hate the idea of a 24 hour twitch stream just because it'll affect the other streamers in the category negatively
fix the title, it isn't the oldest TrackMania, it's a recreation of the oldest version of TrackMania Nations
our special joyboy is back with ancient lores
love the outro :)
The credits, bro... Well done campbell 😂
trackmania geoguessr should become a thing
fire outro!
buckley, you are the greatest person ever never change
peak outro
Thanks for also being my #1 watched gaming creator, mr funny car man.
Although it says here that trackmania isnt my most watched game...? Whatever youtube...
The 24-hour Twitch stream sounds like a great idea! I always have your stream VODs on while I work. Also, hello fellow top 0.1% viewers of WirtualTV!
Accurate Granady depiction, ty
Ain't no way I guessed I-9. Also, lovely content. Doing different things is very cool and refreshing. Very happy you do these things.
epic outro!
