l liked and love his group and there music since i heard them maybe 70s, 80s,lm 60 now as of april.

The strings on this song sound so 70's to my ears! One of a number of great tracks from the ELO. You can't really go wrong with them, to be honest. There's many others worth reacting to. 'Sweet Talkin' Woman', 'Last Train To London', 'Turn To Stone', 'Wild West Hero', 'Rockaria!', the list goes on.
This is the song that hooked me on ELO in 1975! Now that you've done the studio track, you should react to it live at Wembley Stadium 2017, it's awesome! Jeff Lynne is nearly 70 years old in the performance but still sounds amazing!
I had a lot of their stuff back in the day. Can't go wrong with ELO.
I really love their sound. I heard them tons of times as a kid... they were like cemented into your radioset. I only started digging into their music about 10yrs ago being a hobby musician myself and curious to broaden my horizons... definitely one of the best 70s bands i discovered. I'd like to propose a song called To Live & Die in LA by Wang Chung. It's an 80s tune and was at the same time a soundtrack for the movie TL&D in LA. It's a well structured song and captures the 80s very well.
Daft Punk sampled the synth riff that comes right after the ..."the evil woman..." . It is in the song "Face To Face" but it is more the sound, not a direct lift.

Heh, this was one of my favorite songs when I was a kid. The piano riff inspired some keyboard banging from me at the lessons I took back when I was too young to entirely appreciate them. If all their bangers seem to come from the same album, well, that's what greatest hits albums were all about. "Evil Woman" was the lead single from their fifth studio album, Face the Music, released in 1975. "Strange Magic" and "Fire On High" are a couple of choice tracks from it. ELO introduced the rainbow spaceship motif on the cover of their seventh studio, Out of the Blue, released in 1978. That's the album with "Turn to Stone", "Mr. Blue Sky", and "Sweet Talkin' Woman", which were massive hits. Extending the rainbow spaceship motif to their greatest hits readily follows. Their music has seeped into movies and commercials across the decades since, but even back then samples of "Fire On High" were used as theme music to television sporting events shows. I remember seeing a trailer for the 1976 Winter Olympics with a skiier crashing down a mountain side as that song rocked out the speakers.
A classic, JJ. One of my favorites by ELO. I can remember seeing them dance to this in the Spotlight dance on American Bandstand when I was little. The three couples jammed to this. 🤗💜💫✨🤌🏾🔥
