The more you play with the rookies during the pre season there ratings are revealed and it’s based on pre season performance to an extent and every year they gave you undrafted free agents and you could potentially discover a stud..underrated feature
The second I heard Bengal mention he's never played Madden 12 before, I knew it was going to be hilarious hearing him react to the free agency part of Franchise mode for this game.
I mean I looks real shitty you can tell this was the decline of madden🤣🤣 Madden 04-08 was the golden age and only franchise modes worth playing honestly been forcing myself to play Madden 25.
after this game, the maddens are just fun exhibition games to play with your friends over a beer on the Saturday before the Super Bowl. This was the last good Madden.
Let's gooooo this is one of my favorite Madden games!!!!! Edit: I have done a rebuild for the Cardinals by the way, and I won the Super Bowl on year 5. It's really cool to see you thinking over and trying to solve the same problems that I did (like the QB problem, the pass rushing problem, the WR2 problem, and the offensive line problem, among others). If you ever do rebuilds in these games, I'd advise trading old players for draft picks since draft picks aren't valued much by the CPU even though rookies tend to be higher rated in this game than in the new games. You can really build a dynasty.
This is my favorite Madden! This had a mode where you could create your own team from scratch and select what kind of players you’d want on your team. You can also replace a team in franchise mode with your custom team.
The statistics in this game look so much more realistic, guys down the depth chart actually get reps instead of your wr4 just magically getting 0 targets
It’s weird seeing him call a pitch and it actually working because pitches in new Maddens are absolute garbage. Crazy how the offensive linemen AI used to be good and now they’re brain dead. How are the games worse on newer, more powerful consoles? EA sucks.
I JUST bought this game today from a thrift store, and searched it on RUclips to see what the gameplay is like. So excited when I saw that you had this video because I usually only watch your franchise videos. If I do end up disappointed by the game, at least I'll have someone entertaining tell me😂
They had draft grades during the off-season too, seeing which team drafted the best Also, you didn’t see player roles, which change every season depending on performance. Your rookies could’ve said face of the franchise, injury prone, team motivator, etc.
this was the first madden i bought and the best madden lowkey. out of all the older maddens, i remember this one the most, the art, and the soundtrack, the free agency bidding were memorable and i wish they brought some of the stuff back to new maddens
So interesting fact about the fan vote for the cover and why Peyton Hillis got on the cover in the end. It was set up as a march madness bracket style single knockout fan vote. And what happened was after every round, the fans of the player eliminated would pour votes onto the next player going against the player that eliminated their favorite. It was also almost Sebastian Janikowski on the cover, but he ended up loasing out i believe in the final 4 round.
Fun story, O'brien Schofield was a regular at my church, he let me wear his superbowl ring one time from his time with the seahawks, sucks he was on the falcons sb team
Bengal it’s so cool you did this! Ironically this game is super fun on PSP and I did the exact same rebuild. Went through tons of draft picks and money but I managed to bring Peyton Manning, LT, Brian Urlacher, and Justin Tuck all to Arizona to name a few.
@@decariusb71 I get it but there is a fine line and he crossed it. Beat-a-son has many other instances on why in general he's a peice of shit of a person though
Anyone wondering ab the first SB in this sim, this would have been Tavaris Jackson v Ben Roethlisberger. Wasn’t quite with Russ where we went on to dominate for a decade
I still can’t get over the downgrade madden had on these consoles from the PS2, Xbox, and GC. Especially in superstar mode. Imagine having a crib and shit on the next gen consoles!
Madden 12 I owned 4 to 5 copies of because I'd either rage and somehow would lead to the disc burning, or some other freak accidents, glad my local Gamestop had multiple copies. Definitely my favorite game to play for awhile. Browns franchise with Colt McCoy and Peyton Hillis was my main thing. Good times, and angry times.
This isn't relevant anymore since you probably recorded this days ago, but for the last hour of the video all I could think was "you only know you love her when Faletogo" after you said there's gotta be something to say for that name 😂 banger video! Keep em coming, love these older rebuilds.
If teams didn’t find more about players at the combine they wouldn’t go! You can learn about work ethic, punctuality, maturity, so much more. The coaches are there as figure heads the rest of the department is observing what happens before or after the training sessions
38:24 Two CPU teams trading during the draft?! I don't believe it! Wish EA would bring this feature back, it REALLY spiced up the draft back then and made it feel realistic
You HAD to do that Adrian Wilson trade. He was one of my fav players too. But the chances of him simming up to his actual potential isn't very high imo.
Madden 12 franchise mode is pretty decent my favorite team to rebuild is the Jaguars I have a 25 year franchise rn still going on and I've won the superbowl only once.....
Really, really late to this, but I found an old Operation Sports thread where a user named Manning2Harrison claimed it was a consequence of the 2011 player lockout: "Due to the lockout and the timing of the CBA getting done, Madden 12 was finished before real-life UDFAs could be signed." Given that the 75-man preseason rosters were meant to be a prominent new addition for Madden 12's Franchise Mode, it looks like the devs just worked around the issue by making a bunch of fictitious "camp bodies" to fill the void. If so, I'd wager Bayele Bernard was one of them - I'd have to go and dig out the game to verify whether he's just part of the default Franchise Mode roster or if it's randomly generated each time you start one up. Not 100% sure if that's what happened and why, but it's the best explanation I could dig up.
@nicholasbuffone175 They're all randomly generated each franchise and each year in franchise. Sometimes they end up being serviceable with a rare gem showing up on occasion.
Just started the video, so idk if this is mentioned, but this was the last Madden edition with CREATE A TEAM!!! I loved being able to build a cupcake team and rebuild them to superbowl champions as an expansion franchise (usually replaced the ravens because lol, fuck the ravens). If they brought this feature back, they could make ONE version of the game as a live service: update MUT content and do balance patches every few months, do annual roster updates as a free part of the base game, introduce new features, game modes, expanded experiences (like bringing hundreds of features back to madden franchise in groups of DLC's), skins, superstar/career mode features and expanded/alternate storylines. Oh also, they could FIX THE FUCKING SPAGHETTI CODE ON AN FPS ENGINE THAT THEY WERE FORCED TO USE. Seriously, the Frostbite engine is so shit as far as simulations, that the playable pro bowl was removed due to full crashes while displaying more than 2 different helmets. Its a bug that they could work out in the code.... its just not fixable at all based on engine limitations.
Progression isn't random. Progression is based on production. A player with an A potential will stay around the 90s as long as he produces.. if injured or on the bench his overall will drop after the season. Players progress the most in their first 2 years which is why if you get a player who's an A potential you start him right away to get the most progression out of him.
Already typed this out in greater detail for a higher-up comment about this, but to summarize: due to the 2011 player lockout over the CBA and whatnot, rookie UDFAs still hadn't been signed by the time Madden 12 was complete. Given that 75-man preseason rosters were meant to be a big new addition to Franchise Mode, the devs presumably made a bunch of fictional "camp bodies" to fill the void - such as, in this particular instance, Bernard. Not 100% sure that's the explanation, but it's the best one I've been able to scrounge up.
I just booted this up yesterday and the game is still alright. The graphics aren’t bad either, even by today’s standards. Gonna do a super star mode for fun.
