- This is an update about how the Black Goji Berry plants are doing. I decided to replicate the Goji berry plants by propagating cuttings which is working pretty well. The Goji Berry plants are doing well however they don't seem to have the sturdy stems that the red goji berries have. If you've tried growing these plants.. Would love to hear about your experience and would love to see a video!
Thank you for sharing your black gojis berries experience and your experiment I grew them 3months ago and yes have a hard time to maintain them healthy comparing with the red ones.I live in NY and the cold weather is coming I wonder if you can give me your advice weather they can stay out through the winter or I have to bring them in.Thanks million.Thai.😊
I grew mine from seed and it is bearing fruit this month :)
The flavor is very mild, perhaps I need to eat several at a time to taste it better.
That's Awesome!!! Mine went into flower as well and It looks like I'll get a few berries. Though my plants seems to be light green and losing a few leaves!
@@stevejacobson8958 Awesome! Look out for little copper colored spots on the leaves. I got a fungal infection on mine, so the leaves were falling off. I should have planted it in 90 percent sand.
Wow! I would so like to see some pictures. I got flowers on mine but they all dropped off. I think because of the excess water
@@shrddwtwht8119 90% sand seems a lot but i guess they are growing in deserts so it makes sense.
Starting from seed today :)
Wish me luck!!
dont the black send out runners like the red
I'm growing a couple black gojis from seed and have a question to see if anyone else is having this experience: the seedlings' stems are running along the ground, and then they point up and grow straight up. I'm worried that they actually have 'damping off disease' and want to know if it's their nature to run along the ground for the bottom 1-2 inches of the plant.
This is great information for me I've been trying to grow my Gogi berries from seeds for a while and haven't had much luck Let me know if you're selling any of these and where can I get them
Are you trying the black goji seeds or doing the red goji? I've tried growing both. I usually grow one decent size plant then take cuttings and use the rootone powder and put them in dirt with a plastic cover over them. I might have a few for sale in a few weeks as long as they take off in the greenhouse! :-)
@@stevejacobson8958 yeah I've been trying to Red Goji berries for a while now about a year-and-a-half now and I just can't seem to get them to survive long enough I get them to sprout and grow a couple inches and then they just die I don't know what I'm doing wrong
@@blightedwulf2171 I think Red Goji is the easiest Goji to grow. The first time I tried was a great success only because I used a Aerogarden to grow the seeds. I put a couple seeds in each grow sponge and within about 5 days I saw the seeds start to sprout. within about 3 weeks I had decent size plants and in about 5 weeks.. really good size plants. I then took cuttings off of my red goji plants, dipped them in rooting powder and put them in a good grow material and they almost all sprouted roots! It may take a year or 2 to get a good size plant but its well worth the time. I could actually send a few cuttings off of my mature plants. We would just need to trade contact info.
How are they doing now? Did they fruit this year?
They had a few fruits on them but the extremely hot weather was a challenge for them. I'm putting them in my Geodesic Greenhouse and hoping that the size of the greenhouse will help them do even better.
/δid they produce fruits for you?>
Hi friend , how are you? . Where can i get seeds to buy?🌱🌱🌈
Steven. Thanks for the video. As of now I have over 60 seedlings that have sprouted. Is there another place I can contact you to give you updates?
steverockville@yahoo.com That would be cool! I'm going to plant some directly in soil to see how they grow as well.
send me a picture of your Goji Berries so I can see what they look like! :-)
Hey Steven I sent you an email
