In term of RTS, I think SC is still popular among players. The problem is with the RTS genre in general nowadays. People just dont play them as they used to and switch to more action/mobile orientend games.

In that condition if cure goes for pylon and his medivac didn't provide enough high ground vision if there's another pylon powering up the cybernetics core, he might lost this cheese cause the primary was to stop protoss stalker production.
Matches like these are why I question the change to starting the game with ~16 workers instead of 4. It feels like multiple proxy barracks is no longer a risky all-in cheese, but instead is just a standard strategy. Rushes for all the races are just standard now.
When Florencio does this, some asshole in the comments section goes on about how it would never work in leagues higher than Plat, but when Pros do suddenly it's 300iq.
i feel like when he was pulling his marines back to his 4rax, he was actively trying to trigger solar into an immediate GG. like it was "hey, come see my renovations to your main base, then quit because you know you can't beat it"
Cheese is basically doing something very 'risky' to the point where it will likely either work and win you the game super early, or not work and make you behind by so much that it becomes pretty much impossible to win from that position. A lot of the time whether it works comes down to a bit of luck, and relies on your opponent to not see it coming/not be expecting it. Usually its a good idea for pro starcraft players to mix in some cheese in their builds, because being predictable has some pretty big downsides in this game. A lot of the early game is trying to balance out how much army and how much economy to get. If a player never cheeses and always plays 'standard' (expansions, defensive army, lots of workers early), then the other player can exploit that and cut corners of their own to gain an edge (they might skip some early game army in order to get a massive economy knowing the first player won't attack). So, even when cheese doesn't work, and it often doesn't, forcing your opponent to prepare for it every game knowing it might happen helps in the other games.
So Stupid. As soon as this was released, this happened to me on a ladder game. I even sent a scout in every other direction and had a queen right at the very corner of the fog of war for that side of the base. It was stupid lucky. I would imagine this does not work very often otherwise.
you can't blame Solar for trying to cheese TY back, every sc2 player knows you always need to get revenge for a cheese
It was just extremely underwhelming
Maybe that's what TY wanted Solar to do...

Beginner's question: Why are the strategies shown in this video classified as cheese?
Cheese basically means cheap shot
Cheese is basically doing something very 'risky' to the point where it will likely either work and win you the game super early, or not work and make you behind by so much that it becomes pretty much impossible to win from that position.
