I'm still new to his videos but I really like how he always starts these off by showing us what he's drinking and pouring some for himself. Really gives his videos a 'cozy' vibe, hard to explain. Sort of stuff you don't see that much on RUclips nowadays and that I actually miss quite a lot, makes these sorts of videos feel more like you're somehow hanging out with a friend rather than watching something super well edited that looks like it could be on TV. Don't get me wrong, those are great too. This is a video about a keyboard, what the fuck am I even talking about here?
Thanks, it's useful feedback :) . Originally I didn't expect people to like unscripted videos as they're obviously going to be less coherent, succinct and information-dense than scripted ones. But then I found out that there was a good demand for videos just like that :) .
I wrote "hyper 7 round 4 keyboard review video" on our calendar in the kitchen. A loved one made a remark to me about how "the keyboard guy gets a spot on our calendar??!?" 🤣
I'm still using the steelseries apex pro on one of my computers at the office, man I like that smoothness. I'll be looking forward to what you think of these low profile Hall Effect switchs and also to your opinion of the Hyper 7. Great to see you as always Tom.
I'm not sure how to pull them out tbh, they don't look like they have handles like MX switches do for pulling them Oo . But HE switches are almost invariably hotswap so I guess they must be!
IIRC Gateron low profile switches you have to use your switch puller from the sides of the switch (should be able to get the tabs under them) and do a bit of rocking to free them, while still pulling straight up, if that makes sense.
Does anyone make linear/contactless switches that are 'clicky' any more? I remember a few keyboards that had speakers in it. This would seem to be a good idea for the adjustable analog switches.
HE sounds a little weird to me for low profile keyboard, isn't the hall-effect thing supposed to enhance the travel which is almost non-existent on these type of keyboard it looks good though, the see-through keycaps are straight from early 2000s controllers and other peripherals!
That's interesting, I am looking for a low-profile HE keyboard but these fancy colors are a big no for me. So for now, I am still waiting for a low-profile 75% HE keyboard. Thanks for the video anyway!
@@Chyrosran22 I hear you there. I just came accross one that didnt feel half bad, but I realize rubber domes are not the shiz, I dont even know how long they last or if they last at all. I see them used at libraries and such so I guess they take some punishment but. I was just hoping someone could confirm or refute if they were reliable or not. :) So I'm still looking for a good keyboard :D
@@TrueNorth333 Most people in the community will tell you rubber domes are super unreliable. They know nothing. Most rubber domes are just as reliable as mechanical keyboards, sometimes moreso. That said, in terms of keyfeel they tend to leave a lot to be desired.
magnetics swtiches. look nice. I see on the webpage they sell also caps. and yes they are swappable. (as page say) no bad not bad. they a funky one. thre. Thank Thomas
the color scheme reminds me of the US SNES
7:11 that's what I gave a like this vid for
HAHAHA

I was hoping low profile would get the HE treatment. Happy to see it. Low profile has needed some better switches for a while.
Don't let your keyboards stand between you and decent Jura whiskeys!
I usually prefer less aggressive looks but I quite dig this purple-grey theme! Quite nice!
Never have i imagined that the legendary chyrosan would review this

Hahaha I'm honoured! XD
Although you said you likely couldn't come up with a better slogan for the keyboard, you *did* come up with a pretty good slogan for Windows.
Eagerly awaiting that Hyper-7. I think the F122 may be enough keyboard for me, though.
Perfect color theme for a Sun Type 5 keyboard.
7:12 The best part, as always

Adding a switch puller in the box for non-hot-swappable switches wouldn’t be the best of ideas, so surely they’re hot-swappable..?

Nice timing with that t-shirt, I just finished replaying Far Cry 3 :D
Such an excellent game :D . Well-recognised!
Man I just want them keycaps
Reminds me of Sun's color theme from the mid to late 90s
Hi chyro, im your #1 fan from Nicaragua. Suerte con tus futuros proyectos
Cheers mate! :D
Um, ackchually, there is one another low-profile contactless switch that is documented, by none other than Topre.
Fair enough, though that's capacitive, not HE. I also haven't reviewed that one before.
iirc, the first HE low profile is "ZENAIM KEY SWITCH" on ZENAIM keyboard by TOKAI RIKA
That belch was 4.7 nugents (imperial).
do you ever review non-high(er) end keyboards? $20-40 range?
Not often, generally not very interesting. Only really really iconic ones.

Very much looking to the review of this one. How they compare to vintage HE, and so on.
Love the purple ferrite

What do you think of the Lenovo desktop keyboards ?

@@TrueNorth333 well just the ones I tried xD . There's much better rubber domes out there IMO.

KB looks not deserving the review at all. Mushy.
