Private cars are:
1. Frisco (SLSF) 'Cimarron River,' 14-roomette sleeper for the Texas Special. Blt by Pullman-Standard 1948
2. Milwaukee Road Super Dome-Lounge for the Olympian Hiawatha and Twin Cities Hiawathas, Pullman-Std, 1952. No number.
3. Union Pacific 10 roomette-6 bedroom "Pacific Series" sleeper for UP's Cities fleet, Budd 1950. Paint is wrong-should be all-yellow with gray roof.
Amtrak charges ~20 first class fares to tow each car. All must comply with FRA safety standards.
EXCELLENT VIDEO AS WELL AS MUSIC. The keyboards "touched" this off. By any chance, (due to your selection in music), are you familiar with a guy named Rainer Bruninghaus? ( As your piano selection reminds me of him). If interested, check out the guy, and all I have contact info. on him is ECM 1-1187 Recorded in 1980 in Oslo. I though you'd appreciate the similarity.
Absolutely beautiful train. The scenery is fantastic I totally enjoy the views of the train and views of the terrain. Questions how do someone get to ride one of the private train? Do you have to belong to special group? Thanking you in advance.

California Zephyr is a beautiful ride, especially after Denver Colorado through Rocky Mountains. I was there this summer. It was an amazing experience. Thanks for sharing yours. Nice sharing 🤗 👍

They were so gorgeous! The sleeper we rode in was beautifully restored.
MAN !!! If you're looking for a "targeted" response to this video...I'm your guy ! My Dad, step-mom and I rode rode the Denver / California Zephyr on the CB&Q, (as well as the U.P's "City of Denver".), out of Chicago back in the mid to late 60's and have such great memories.of those trips. The Budd-built Pullmans were exquisite, the fine dining, the REAL Vista-Domes, etc. were unparalleled. Oh, and did I mention that WE dressed for the occasion? WOW...LOOK at what you find on Amfrac today. I was considering re-tracing "The Good 'ol Days", but I'm sure I'd be horribly disappointed from what I've seen on other videos. The ambiance, customer service, and amazing quality service overall is gone. I'm just glad I'm 70 years old and waiting to die.
Wow! I wish I could have experienced the Golden Age of rail travel! What incredible memories! This trip was a dream for me, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity! Amtrak is certainly no comparison! I’m riding VIA Rail Canadian in April and I think this will be comparable! Have you ridden that one?

Got it wrong at the end by saying the Great Northern was the only railroad to go to Seattle from Chicago there was the Northern Pacific and the Milwaukee Road.

And Union Pacific operated thru Chicago sleepers into Seattle from Portland up to the 1960s. Faster than the NP.
It never bodes any good to see the doors open on a baggage car when the train s moving.
Car was empty, the Train was just moved over from the Yard, as Emoryville is the Origin Station, the car was secured and the doors closed before it left Emoryville, sometimes looks can be deceiving.
They were not open during the trip at all, only upon arrival as approaching from the yard at the origin (starting point) of the Eastbound CZ.

I still get to ride these Beautiful cars every year up in Canada on via rails Canadian Booked again for September bedroom f ,can’t wait!!
Gosh! That is amazing! There is nothing like those old cars! I’ve got another booked next May. VIA is on my list someday!!!
Sadly there is talk of replacement of the cars in the next few years so don’t wait to long .
