What I want to know is why it didn't get more air time on radio stations?
"Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)" by Kate Bush came out at roughly the same time, has a similar style/vibe, & not only got so much airplay that I started to hate hearing it, it's still being played hourly on a lot of stations to this day.
"Love Brand New" is a much better song and should've gotten more love on the radio.

For those who say that the intro sounds like a Sting's song, influences in a musician's work are inevitable, even in classics by The Beatles we can hear harmonies and melodies from those they admired. I'm sure we'll hear the intro of "Shape of my heart" on the artists that influenced Sting's guitarist, who composed that arrangement. "Everything is written under the sun" it is just transformed. When I first heard this song I thought "it's an interesting way to listen that progression again" because of how it sounds and concludes. Bob Moses is a very interesting band, I hope to hear a lot more from them.
I bet they wanted it that way. Never even heard of Shape of My Heart until now. 😉 But the minor differences evoke an entirely different feeling. This is a heavy one. This is about your world being turned upside down, the whole mood being shot to shit randomly for no good reason...and facing it anyway. "We were halfway through...." "And if the end comes soon..." 🤘
