    I did History today and learned about Emily Davison I'm a girl so I appreciate it that she sacrificed her life for woman to vote by being ran over by a by horse that made men realise! Thanks 🙏 We love you Emily in heaven. I am never going to forget about you. If you never did that, right now I would just be crying my head off and screaming, 'Votes for women!' I am going to stick on my History topic to learn more about you x😘

      Hey thanks so much for your interesting comment. I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed learning about the great life of Emily Davison. We are lucky that she and the other suffragettes fought hard for the rights we enjoy today.

      She was amazingly brave and strong. I agree with you - she fought hard to get the vote for women and we're grateful.

      At that time 40 percent of working men didn’t have the right to vote either.

    "She paid the highest possible price" for being foolish enough to run out in front of a speeding horse to try and put a scarf on it. Brilliant people find ways to make their cause known without killing themselves or putting others lives in grave danger. This woman was a self absorbed fool, and the way she died proves it.

    The same year as the derby, Emily planted two bombs at the house belonging to chancellor David Lloyd George, whilst it was being worked on, luckily no workmen were killed or injured, one of the bombs failed to go off.

    First time we heard her intention was to put a scarf on the horse. There were theories as to whether she was disoriented or was it suicide. It was for the scarf.

      @nowyouknowabout  3 года назад +2

      Yes I think you're right. She wasn't planning to kill herself. She just wanted to put the scarf on the horse.

      Apparently she had a return ticket for the race, so why would she want to kill herself?

    Ah yes, the brilliant Emily Davidson. So brilliant she died by getting hit by a horse after running onto a race track to attempt to pin a banner to a sprinting race horse. Essentially playing in traffic, that isn’t one of the more retarded ways to die at all.

    • @Asdfgh-xr6qw
      @Asdfgh-xr6qw Год назад

      @johnblackberry305 A few things, men were burned as witches too, not just women. In fact, in some countries most victims of witch burning were men.
      Also no, it doesn’t make running in front of a galloping horse almost normal, people often forget just how smart humans are, including in the past. You really have to be some kind of retarded to walk into a race track during a race, as a full grown adult.
      Also, there’s nothing inherently dumb about referring to soldiers as heroes.
      Your comment was kinda a mess.

    The WSPU wanted, according to the socialist critics of the day, votes for ladies as they wanted votes for women restricted to property owning females or those who were university educated Of course, at that time men who did not own property also didn't have the right to vote. This history video also suffers from convenient PC amnesia; Emily bombed the house of Lloyd George - and also attacked a vicar whom she thought was disguised as him! The real heroes were the far greater number of peaceful male and female suffragists who campaigned for universal suffrage and not the WSPU who committed numerous and serious terrorist attacks.
