About 35 years ago, I was a bass student in Brazil, already collecting records from all of you bands. I played my bass along with the records, I know a lot of phrases and grooves from you. For me they are the best companies of my existence. Hugs Hugs Hugs Hugs...

Man, I'd loved to hear the juicy outtakes.
On another note, I wished they'd have given more insight on Doug Rauch. A true innovator and who I'm convinced, was the originator of the slap-bass sound. Died WAY too young.

The insights about Ron Carter were profound truth - and the groove/structure and harmonic movement lie with the BASS PLAYER, NOT with the drummer. I’ve always felt that way and I often let the bass player lead the dance if they are capable and secure. When they were discussing the 1960s Miles Davis quintet and that RON CARTER was the point man and the chief of operations and groove, I found that really confirmed what I’ve thought for years. Thank you STICk PEOPLE!

I agree w Stanley . The “Drones” thing w Weather Report . Zawinul had perhaps a half dozen classic things.. Jaco had a few also.. But neither were the caliber of composer Chick was , in earlier years especially , up until “Friends “ and “Humpty Dumpty “. Same goes for John McLaughlin. For NO ONE could top RTF with Bill Connors. Greatest fusion band of all time
